The engineer came to my property quite quickly after my phone call. He managed to clear the blockage within 30 minutes but advised that, should it block again, it may need inspecting with a camera. When he took his equipment back to his van he told me he wouldn't be a minute. He was gone quite a while and I had to go to find out why. Turned out he was writing up the invoice. However, being on the autistic spectrum, I have a need for clear information so would have appreciated him telling me what he had to do and that he would be a five minutes, not a minute. Might seem pedantic to some people but not knowing what is happening is stressful for me. My toilet operated fine for almost a month then began filling up again. This was over Easter so I decided to wait until the Tuesday after to phone the company again. Before I got around to phoning a drainage engineer from my water company turned up, asking for access to my drain. Seems I have a shared drain and a neighbour had reported a blockage. He advised me to always phone them first and told me that the engineer from No1phd should have phoned them or advised me to do so. Turns out he shouldn't have worked on the problem. Anyway, I emailed No1phd, explaining the situation and requesting a refund. A lovely lady phoned me the very next morning, apologising on behalf of the engineer. She issued a refund direct to my bank account. I was very pleased as I expected to have a problem getting this resolved. If only all companies had such good customer service! I will definitely use them again, should the need arise.

Helpful staff. When I rang over the weekend over sewage line blockage. Engineer arrived in the afternoon to assess the blockage. Blockage was partly resolved after using pressure water jet but couldn't fully resolve the blockage due to neighbour's external manhole blockage. Informed neighbour and was able to clear the blockage. Despite the external line was cleared but my sewer line at the back was still blocked.
Rang No1PHD in Chepstow again on Monday and was able to assign an engineer to visit my house to resolve the blockage at the back. Blockage was diagnosed with CCTV. Showed me the problem on screen and was able to clear the blockage by using pressure water jet. I was grateful that the engineer Adam Faulkner was very thorough and effective in resolving the blockage.
The following day I rang customer service regarding my concern on the first visit. Spoke to Lucy whom investigated my concern and came back to me within the same afternoon. She agreed with my concern and offered to refund the full amount for the first visit and apologised for the incomplete service.
Was impressed with the way customer service dealt with my concern and resolved it promptly.
Thank you Lucy, Lorenzo and especially Adam for the service provided. Will be happy to use No1PHD again.

The work recommended by the first engineer who cleared the blockage was carried out two days later by a different team of equally attentive engineers.

I rang the number advertised in our local area magazine on a Monday morning, as my outside kitchen drain was blocked and had overflowed. That afternoon, Mitch came and fixed my problem with a plunger. He explained a fat build up was the casue and advised me to use soda crystals to keep the drain flowing freely. All done in 20 minutes and since then, soda crystals are working!

My 93-year-old father contacted No1phd to clear a blocked kitchen drain. No1phd insisted my father sign an electronic agreement on an ipad and pay 50% upfront for a ‘fixed priced’ quote of £4,794 to clear the drain and re-sleeve 17m of pipe. My father is profoundly deaf. No written quote or breakdown was provided for the scope of works. Last time the drain blocked, it was repaired for under £400 by another firm. My father expected the cost to be similar, not ten times that amount. What’s more, my father had just lost a wife of 60 years. In the week of the funeral, the last thing he needed was the shock of being overcharged for what should have been a simple drain clearance.
Fortunately, a family member was visiting on the day the work was undertaken and was able to call a halt to what No1phd were planning to do. In total, the No1phd team were on site for just over three hours, including a one-hour break. The total charge for the completed works was £1,887.70, including £395 for the initial visit to prepare a quote, £400 for labour, £300 for equipment hire, £300 for cleaning, de-scale and re-liner, £60 for the gully, £150 for admin and guarantee and £50 for waste removal.
When we contacted No1phd to challenge the cost of repair, they were adamant that a No1phd team member had verbally explained the proposed scope of work to my father and that he had agreed to go ahead. On their customer consent form, it clearly says that a ‘vulnerable person assessment’ had been completed. However, no written quote was provided nor was sufficient care undertaken to check that my father understood what he was being asked to agree to. In doing so, No1phd did not follow its own ‘Vulnerable Persons Policy & Procedure’ as published on their website.
Reading other one-star reviews on TrustPilot and Google, it is clear No1phd has a history of overcharging vulnerable individuals. Avoid.

Cleared our drain Explained what caused the block let us see how the drain, which was a least 200 years old, was blocked. They came within 2 days to put it right.
Both people who came explained it to me, did the job and cleared up after. I was then telephoned a week later to make sure that the drain was clear.
