Big shout out to Rob Burden, after what probably felt like a long 7 weeks to him im pleased to say with his expertise and amazing teaching i passed my test 1st time this morning!

If you're in the North East Rob is the guy to see. Im hard work he'll agree but hes nothing short of AMAZING thank you rob WE did it

I was bought a gift voucher for no gears for my birthday and booked my first lesson. The instructor that arrived was arrogant, quite negative (even after explaining my driving history and why I’d stopped learning etc.) really unprofessional and after my first lesson forced me to book a 2 hour lesson even though I expressed I couldn’t do this due to having a disabled child. He clearly just wanted my money! This really made me uneasy and after fretting over the really bad experience, I rang the office who changed my instructor to the lovely Jim! What a complete breath of fresh air that man is! Complete polar opposite to the first person I encountered. He listened to me, gave me constructive feedback and saw the potential I had and pushed me to achieve my goals and it showed - I passed with zero minors! Jim saved my experience with No Gears because I was genuinely ready to walk away from the gift voucher and go elsewhere due to the first instructors attitude and approach to teaching. Thank you Jim so much for believing in me and making me believe in myself! You’re a true diamond and I’m forever grateful to you! Take note no gears - Jim saved this review from being very different!

I don’t recommend this school to anyone in the world! I am a driver and eager to learn GB rules for Safe driving and the the tricks at the exam. But every time I give it a go it turnes out a stress for me. I am positive about constructive criticism and help BUT no instructor should allow himself shouting and getting annoyed. It’s hard work and my advice for teachers is to be patient or not enrol in this job. We pay money for practising and making mistakes and your task is to explain and give as much trial as it’s needed. If anyone could do it so easy then why on earth we need instructors. So please be there for learners not for pointing your finger and shouting which double stress people. TRY NOT TO BE FAKE “POLITE“ concentrate on learners needs.

I recently passed my test first time. I had learned with Rob in Newcastle and he was absolutely brilliant. I was a very anxious driver but Rob made me feel completely at ease, and was great company as well. I genuinely can't reccomend him enough 😊

Started learning with Rob from no gears after multiple years off the road following a unsuccessful attempt at passing in a manual car.

Within the first 10 minutes of my first lesson, rob had my comfortably driving round my local car park and immediately give me the confidence to take to the road soon after.

Rob is a fantastic instructor, his nice nature and good humour puts you at ease right away. his patience and knowledge helped me pass my test at the second time of asking and also in super quick time from starting my lessons.

Passed my driving test with Rob last Thursday! Such a nervous driver and Rob put me at ease throughout all of my lessons, he definately has the patience of a saint haha!!
Besides the best instructor I’ve had, rob is one of the most genuine and hilarious people you’ll meet! Had a laugh every lesson all while gaining experience on the roads.
Always looked forward to my lessons with him and will definately miss going out in the car with him and I'm sure I'll be texting him for more advice as I get onto the roads! So grateful and would so recommend!

Passed my driving test yesterday with Ron.
He is an excellent instructor, friendly, patient and really helped me build confidence on the road.
He doesn’t mess about when it comes to getting stuck into challenging situations so I was quickly feeling at ease as he’d shown me I could tackle anything.
He doesn’t just show you how to pass the test, he gives you skills you’ll use for life on any road.
Ron made our lessons fun and relaxed and we shared many laughs while driving around, I’ll definitely miss our lessons!

I have passed my driving test just yesterday with great Thanks to Ron, the automatic driving instructor!

Ron is quite professional and excellent in his job, he provided my with all the required information and methods to drive safely, he prepared me to drive in any road by explaining clearly and simply the roads' rules and how I should use the car's functions in the most ideal way. He always showed up on time.

I had lessons with other unprofessional instructor from Chris Kelly Driving School who just did his best to make sure that I fail the test hence more money for him to earn which was £38 per hour and 15 minutes, while with this respectful instructor Ron- although it is not fair for Ron to compare him with the previous instructor- the lesson was 26 per hour and the most important thing that Ron just prepared me to pass the test and to be a good safe driver, Ron showed me how to drive in England!

In fact, I find myself speechless to describe how much Ron is fantastic in his job.

I Highly recommend No Gears Driving School especially the automatic instructor Ron, it is totally worth to wait at the waiting list thus you will save your money and time and end up as a good quality driver.

Rob is professional and amazing at what he does! He was always accommodating to fit in lessons around my work too. His relaxed manner quickly put me at ease and made me comfortable with driving, which allowed me to pass my test first time with him! Could not recommend him more! :)

Ps.. He is also one of the most funny, lovely and genuine gentlemen you'll ever get the pleasure of knowing.. So enjoy him whilst you can because he will have you passed in no time!

I tried manual 11 years ago but never got on with it, struggled with confidence and didn’t get on with my instructor so never tried again but decided to try again in a automatic after having my three boys. I can not recommend Rob enough . From the start rob made me feel at ease, comfortable and confident to try anything. He always spoke professionally and calmly and made learning to drive enjoyable. So thanks to him I’ve passed my test and my life as changed for me and my family and I can not thank him enough.

RICHARD BRUNO - best driving instructor you will get. He goes above and beyond to help and support you throughout. Almost impossible to feel nervous when he is instructing. Very good attitude and attentive would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

I've been learning to drive with Richard in Letchworth and would recommend him to anyone. I was very nervous about driving, but Richard is calm, patient and funny, and has loads of experience and great tips to help you master things you find difficult; at the same time, he's very thorough and teaches to a really high standard, which gives you confidence that you'll be able to manage on your own in the future. I'll be taking my practical test soon, and I would never have expected to get this far - thanks, Richard, and No Gears, for getting me to this point! :)

When I first joined , I was not too impressed with my instructor or the experience, but by some fortune ..my next Instructor Carl was the polar opposite he was fantastic, he put me at ease, gave concise instructions and filled me withth confidence, I would highly recommend him and the school overall.

I don't like when they waist my time and money using there mobile phone and asking me to let them go to buy something
We work hard to get 28£ to pay for 1h after that you will waist 20 minutes waiting in car park
And there is no offer if you want to buy 2h

I started learning in a manual car but I could not get to grips with the gears and the clutch. I was always a nervous driver so I decided to try automatic. It was the best thing I did! I passed my driving test on my second attempt and I cannot thank No Gears enough for helping me pass. My driving instructor Ryan is an absolutely fantastic instructor, his teaching techniques are superb as he always made me feel calm and confident in myself. My lessons were always stress free and enjoyable. I would also like to thank the young lady who took my booking, she managed to get me booked in straight away and was very pleasant over the phone. Overall outstanding driving school, outstanding customer service and outstanding driving instructor. Thank you Ryan and No Gears. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking to learn in an automatic car!

Had my 1st lesson mid January and passed my test first time today (28th May). I cannot reccomend Rob Burden highly enough. He put me at ease straight away and within seconds of getting into the car, I felt comfortable with him and happy to drive. I had tried learning when I was 18 in a manual car with family, but just couldn't get the hang of gears, so after 25yrs of stalling (no pun intended) I decided to learn in an automatic and it's the best thing I have done. Rob makes things easy to understand and made me feel at ease on every lesson. Never a raised tone from him or any sign of any worry or nervousness.. a good laugh and very friendly. Anyone within his area looking to learn in an automatic, book with Rob. He will make it his mission to get you through. It's a shame I passed as I will miss my weekly appointment with him.
