H was a very good driving instructor and was very supportive and friendly whilst also being stern enough to get the best out of me, made the whole experience very enjoyable with talk about football and various other things. Would definitely reccomend him to a friend!

I had 10 hours of refresher lessons with James, because I had never driven in the UK before. Additionally I had 5 years of blank after my last driving in another country.

James was very understanding about my situation and tailored my lessons to cover all the basics I need to know to drive in the UK.

During the lessons, his instructions were very concise. He identified my weak points instantly and explained in simple words how I can improve.

He gave me lots of colourful handouts to understand maneuvers and roundabout systems, and also suggested external resources (videos, books) so that I can maximise my limited lesson time.

I am also grateful about his advice on how to maintain a car well and which car equipments to get, as I have never bought my own car.

I am excited to explore the UK more, especially beautiful countrysides!

I would highly recommend Akbar Shakoor as your instructor, I had previously had lessons with another driving instructor and decided it would be a better option to go automatic…so I had been recommended Akbar by a family member, he wasn’t just only professional he made me feel very welcome and confident and helped me gain all the skills to pass my driving test first time with only 13 lessons with him, he made me feel at ease instantly and had faith in me and my driving before I had faith in myself, making mistakes was easy but he helped me correct them instantly without me feeling uncomfortable, it was that easy to speak and make conversation with him that after my test I asked for more lessons because I will miss just going on a calming drive with him learning new things and having a nice conversation. So I would highly highly recommend you book your next driving lessons with Akbar Shakoor!!

My experience with no gears was great! I had a reliable pleasant driving instructor Akbar Shakoor. He helped me pass my 1st time I started with him with no experience atall and so glad I did he helped build my confidence and all the skills to driving thanks would 100% recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of taking driving lessons with H. Sunner, and I must say that he is an excellent instructor. As someone who had not driven in over a decade, I was quite nervous and lacked confidence behind the wheel. However, H. Sunner's teaching methods helped me to become a much safer and more confident driver.

One thing I appreciated about H. Sunner was his attention to detail. He was very particular and thorough in his lessons, which helped me to develop good habits and learn the important skills needed for safe driving. While his nagging may have been a bit frustrating at times, I now realize that it was all for a good reason, as it helped me to remember and reinforce the most important aspects of safe driving, such as checking my mirrors and maintaining proper lane discipline.

Overall, I highly recommend H. Sunner as a driving instructor. His expertise and commitment to teaching safe driving practices have truly helped me to become a better driver. If you're looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated driving instructor, then H. Sunner is definitely the right choice.

I did all my lessons with Carl Slater (Radcliffe) at No Gears and honestly can’t recommend him enough! I suffer with really bad anxiety and Carl knew exactly how to deal with that and got me confident enough to pass my test! He explained everything fully in terms that I would understand and would make sense to me which made things so much easier for me to process. He was also extremely patient with me and I enjoyed every single lesson (and will miss them!)! I honestly never thought I would be able to drive but thanks to Carl I can! Thank you SO much, will be recommending you to anyone I possibly can!

TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS DRIVING SCHOOL!!!! I had already had a few lessons over the years, but decided I would be better off with automatic. I was so happy I made that decision as the instructor (H.Sunner) has been fab. I was made to feel completely at ease and for the first time I felt I was actually being taught how to be a safe driver instead of just a driver, which is very important as I will have my kids in the car. H goes above and beyond for his students as he did for me. My test was booked for May then I managed to get one in April but I must not of reset my app properly, I recieved an email to say there was a cancellation and my test was now booked for 6 days time 🙈. I messaged H in a panic, he was so good and moved things around to accommodate my new test, which I passed first time with 1 minor. Thankyou H and the NoGears team ❤️❤️❤️

I recently had a day course with H which was a fantastic experience. I was very nervous before the day and H quickly put me at ease. He spoke to me as fellow human being and was very supportive and encouraging (he would say nagging) throughout. By the end of the day I had grown in confidence and skill and now I'm looking forward to the next season!

I am so happy to have passed my driving test first time with James in stevenage. He is very professional but amongst that he has a great sense of humor and is very knowledgeable and confident in what he does. Very easy to get along with and reliable.

Fantastic from the start , as an older driver i needed to get my confidence back as ive not drove for over 10 years , my instructor Akbar put me at ease from the 1st lesson and told me very honestly where my faults and strengths were enabling me to pass my test 1st time 😊

No gears was highly recommended to me by my friend. My Instructor (Daljit Bains) in Leicester was a great teacher, So thorough, calm and accommodating. He made me feel at ease in every lesson. It was pleasure to learn from him. Thank you once again :)

My instructor H was an inspiration of how teaching should be done. He was always very accommodating, calm and very well versed in his craft. On a personal level he helped me through a tough time I was having and we had many chats throughout our lessons so it was like learning with your mate you’d known for years. He was deeply caring and made me the best driver I could be and I passed with only 1 minor first time. I could not recommend him or the school more for first time drivers of if you’ve had previous experience.

I passed first time in Letchworth with H Sunner. He’s been a great instructor and teaches to such a high standard that it made the test seem really straightforward. He’s also a great guy who really cares about his students and about helping people be good drivers. Thanks H!

No gears driving school is a fun, enjoyable and relaxed way to learn to drive. I was made to feel at ease as soon as I started. I passed my driving test a couple of days ago first time and I honestly couldn't have done it without my driving instructor Alan Smithson. Who was an absolute pleasure to learn from and have some laughs along the way. I recommend no gears to people who want to learn to drive 😃👍

I've had such a good experience learning with Carl Slater (Bury) over the passed months. Carl has been my 3rd instructor and I had taken a 6 year break from learning before starting with him so my confidence was seriously lacking and was a some what nervous driver. I very quickly became comfortable with Carl and my confidence driving shot up practically immediately. Carl does a great job of making you feel at ease and relaxed throughout the lesson. Would definitely recommend both Carl and No Gears to anyone wanting to learn automatic (you will have to put up with some terrible jokes though).

Carl Slater (Radcliffe, Manchester) has been a fantastic instructor. I passed first time with only 1 minor fault (My own fault). He is really friendly and explains all aspects of driving in the most sensical way, reliable, patient and honest I couldn't have asked for a better person to teach me how to drive. I am genuinely going to miss our lessons. I honestly cannot recommend him enough.

I've already written a review of this company. The point I was trying to make was the instructor sent a nasty message to my daughter, they seem all about the money. My daughter has now found another instructor with an independent company that seems much more professional and has heard all about my daughters last instructor from some of her other pupils. My daughter is a lot more at ease with this new instructor, who's taught her more than no gears did. I would not recommend no gears. By the way my name is Joanne, not Joanna as they replied to me. They can't even get that right.

Akbar Shakoor my instructor was brilliant so calm with me no matter what. He constantly made me feel at ease and helped me home in my driving skills. I would definitely recommend him and his driving school if you are looking to pass your test no regrets what so ever
