Avoid Nim Avoid Nim Avoid Nim Orakh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This instructor is so unprofessional and rude.He made me feel horrible whenever I made a mistake and killed all my confidence,I cried in his car one time like that he can testify to that.Two week before my driving test this man assigned me to someone else knowing fully well I have test coming up and this assigned person happened to be his wife which I got aware two days before the test
I regretted knowing this man,he is just a waste of money and time
My God will judge him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No gear should have notified all his students about this change,I did my test in December and I didn’t know he stopped working with No gear since August

I am somebody that takes medication for anxiety and as a result, have always struggled with driving nerves and panic. My instructor was Carl Slater and he managed to explain driving to me in a way that I understood and over time, driving went from being something i dreaded to something i looked forward to. Carl is somebody who reassures you when you are doing the right things and guides you when you are unsure. I managed to pass my test first time and I now enjoy driving every day.

I’ve had 4 driving instructors over the years and Jim is by far the best instructor I’ve had. I needed someone to push me to take my test and he did just that.

He is also hilarious and I’ve had many laughs in the car with him which definitely helped. Thank you Jim!

I thought I would never passed my driving test today as I’ve done a lot of faults during lessons and before my test🤪. Plus I have contacted JIM a week before my driving test, so stressful for me bcuz I have only few days left before my driving test. Despite all of these JIM was extremely patient with me as always make me feel at ease and taught me everything he knows, very friendly and he cares about his students.

Incredible Instructor - Jim Whitbread.

Jim is a fantastic instructor. I was very nervous but Jim’s kind nature and his way of teaching put me at ease from my very first lesson.

He explains things clearly and doesn’t over complicate anything. I went from praying I wouldn’t have a parallel park in my test to loving them!

No question that I asked was a silly one and he also knew the right amount of push to make me a confident driver.

With Jim’s guidance I passed first time with only 2 minors!

Jim is extremely punctual, professional, and friendly. An asset to NoGears driving school. I would recommend him to anyone.

I was nervous about driving after previously being with a different driving school, but my nerves were put at ease from the start.
Carl is a very knowledgeable, professional instructor. Patient, clear and direct in his teaching.

I learnt around Stevenage with my instructor Steve, he was incredibly nice, calm and considerate especially as I was new to driving and I was anxious to start with. Steve explained everything well and was easy to get along with, I would highly recommend No Gears to anyone looking for automatic driving lessons especially as I was able to pass first time thanks to my instructor.

Where to begin… Best instructor ever!

After trying to learn to drive on and off for ten years, I had lost all confidence. From my very first lesson at Jim he put me at ease and I could see myself passing my test and becoming a driver for the first time.

I’ve never dreaded a driving lesson and actually looked forward to them because Jim makes them fun. He is extremely reliable, never cancelled a lesson and always turns up on time.

I feel so lucky to have had the experience I did and passed my test first time yesterday! I always thought I would be a nervous driver but Jim’s technique meant I felt relaxed for my test and feel confident driving going forward.

I’m so grateful and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. Thank you Jim and No Gears.

Neil is a fantastic instructor; after using a couple of different driving schools myself and not having much luck with instructors, Neil was a breath of fresh air.

Neil was patient and encouraging as well as knowledgeable, and I felt at ease learning under his supervision.

I would highly recommend Neil for anyone learning in Harrogage area.

Honestly I can say hand on heart I thought I would never be driving! I had little confidence in driving around other road users and on a busy (active) roads or stress, let alone go out every week and enjoy every moment like I have done, with James (Jim) Whitbread, he has been the best driving instructor I’ve came across my mum has been trying to get me to drive for years and I refused due to lack of confidence in driving, if anyone goes with No Gears ask for Jim! 100% brings out the confidence in you and if you listen and work towards what he tells you, you will pass and find driving a breeze!

I passed first time and everyone I know is saying the same thing “oh wow I never thought you’d actually go through with driving” this is how much confidence I found within Jim, working and listening along side Jim as one of his students. Thank you so much again!!! And he even put up with all the talking I done throughout the lessons.

Writing this review brings myself even more confidence with driving as I’ve only been driving with Jim since August 2021and I passed in November 2021!!! Fab!!

Jim always arrived timely for every lesson and a very professional Instructor.

He's very dedicated. His motivations helped build my confidence through his patient encouragements. Jim is a highly disciplined Instructor and has taught me all about safe and legal driving. He is very thorough with all his teaching, and he makes learning all the manoeuvres seamless. Easy-peasy, I would say!

Jim never rushed or made me feel uncomfortable at any time during my lessons. He answers all questions by breaking them all down for ease of understanding.

Jim is friendly, reliable, dedicated, process-driven and has all the wealth of experience and knowledge. He's also genuinely happy when his students are successful. If you're looking to learn, Jim's the one! I cannot recommend Jim enough.

I’ve had previous lessons in a manual in the past and lost all confidence, honestly never felt I was ever going to drive . I’m a very nervous person and I never had self confidence but from day 1 learning with Jim , he built up my confidence . He made lessons so comfortable and he is so patient with you. Having an amazing instructor like Jim really helps you , not only learning to drive but to become a confident and safe driver .

Had a brilliant instructor in Carl Slater. I went from having no confidence or ability to passing my test 1st time.
Carl was extremely patient even when I frustrated myself and was always positive. Honest feedback after each lesson really helped too.

Having previously taken two driving tests and failed with a different instructor, my confidence with driving was very low. James was professional, clear and concise with his instructions; and generous with information I could go home and look over for my next lesson. Thanks to no gears driving school and James, I can now happily say I have passed my driving test and I am a confident driver - 5 STARS.

Jim was a fantastic and highly experienced instructor who trained me to be a great driver. With his guidance, I was able to pass my driving test the first time!! He was very patient and focused on my weekly developments. He was also able to accommodate my very early start lessons, which helped me. Through all my lessons he made sure it wasn't just about passing the test but more importantly being a safe driver on the road. I've had other instructors in the past but none gave me the confidence, belief, and had the patience to teach me properly. I would highly highly recommend Jim!

I just wanted to give kudos to Jim Whitbread who is a phenomenal driving instructor. I have had a number of teaching schools and instructors but he by far was the best. He has a very high level of professionalism, very experienced, technically astute and lots patience! His approach is to make sure you are learning and gaining confidence to not only pass the test but to drive in real life circumstances. Friendly and witty, it was an absolute pleasure, so much so my sister is now his student and hopefully passing first time with 3 minors as well!
