OK, so Panelbase is good....

OK, so Panelbase is good, the only issue is that I have found the surveys take a lot of information and then you are screened out at the end, so basically they are getting the information without payment, there are some very good survey sites out there and this comes near the top and the best bit is they pay cash and not vouchers and payments are very fast, if there wasn't the screening out issue it would have been 5 stars from me.

Just as useless as all the others

This is just another survey site that barely ever gives you surveys that you can actually complete. They either offer a measly reward like £0.50 for 30 mins or just immediately say you're not eligible. Even if you do the surveys as soon as they're offered, you still we be told that you don't meet the requirements. Also, many times I spent 5-7 minutes answering questions only to then get screened out. It is ridiculous to make people spend such a long time only for them to get rejected. Only good thing is that you can take your money out as cash instead of a gift card etc.

So far so good

Joined panelbase a couple of weeks ago. They send quite a few surveys and the rates they pay are decent. I got my first product review today so looking forward to receiving that. So far so good, if it continues like this then its worth doing. And the surveys are enjoyable too.

Received the £3 joining 'reward' in my account which was the only good thing about this so far but since then, nothing. I've been screened out of virtually all available surveys and still not received credit from last week on one I managed to qualify for.

Love it.

Great survey site,get screened out of surveys a few times,and let's face it what survey sites don't screen you out. Always pay quickly and plenty of interesting surveys. My fav on Panelbase is Focus Project which you have to use your webcam to view some adverts or just browse certain sites like Youtube or Ebay and you could be paid from £2.50 to £7.50 depending on how long you use browse.Very handy.

Good surveys / Terrible support

As survey sites go, Panelbase is a better option than many. It offers money rewards and not the daft points system of others, and there are regular surveys to try albeit that you'll only get to complete about 20-30% of them as you'll naturally be unsuitable to many.

The problems I have had, hence the 3 star review, lie in the customer service department and their absolutely consistent failure to resolve a single issue raised.

I have had several problems with surveys failing, in more than one case right near the end after being on it for 20+ minutes. They then pay nothing despite it being out of my control and them even conceding it being a problem at their end.

Every time, without fail, I hear from various customer service people saying how the issue is passed to a 'Project Manager' and that they will be in touch.

It is, in some cases, several weeks since I was told that. I have not once had any contact from a 'Project Manager' so not a single issue has ever been resolved. I put 'Project Manager' in inverted commas because I no longer believe such positions/people exist at Panelbase. It's a title given to what I'd call 'a fob-off'.

It's such a shame they treat their survey takers with such neglect.

If you're into surveys, give Panelbase a go but don't expect any help from them on anything.

Good survey site. Yes there are plenty of screen outs, but I'm used to that on survey panels. Withdrawal process cannot be faulted. Customer service has been excellent when I have had a few issues.

Gone downhill unfortunately

I used to like Panelbase, but they've gone downhill lately. My main problem is that they have started to pay less than before - about £4 per hour, which is less than an apprentice gets, and less than half the minimum £8.72 for over 25s. But even this varies because many surveys take longer than advertised if you're to do them properly. The focus group discussions are too rare to balance this out and many of their clients don't contact you even if you qualify. Compare this with PopulusLive who pay £1 per 5 minutes! Panelbase also screens you out a lot and don't provide any compensation for the time you spend filling in questions until then - in comparison, PanelOpinion give you 5p, Swagbucks 1SB (not much, but it's something) - that they include you in a draw will never mean anything for most. They also have a fairly high minimum withdrawal limit of £10 and take about a week or more to pay (compared with Prolific, which is an instant PayPal transfer of min. £5). Their website looks like it's from 20 years ago and badly needs a facelift. Their support service is decent and usually on the side of the user, but that is not much given the above. Avoid unless you are desperate or have mountains of free time and patience.

We constantly look to review our incentive levels and how our members redeem their rewards, for example we have recently introduced two withdrawals a week so that our members are able to get their rewards as quickly as possible, we also have one of the lowest withdrawal thresholds, at £10, amongst survey companies, another panel provider for instance has a withdrawal threshold set at £50.

Undertaking market research opportunities should not be compared with employment, the incentive scheme is a thank you for sharing your time to respond and the levels are based on time. We are always clear on the invitation the value of the reward for each research opportunity. As everyone takes different levels of time to undertake each survey, the suggested time should be used as a guide only, but should represent the average of time needed.

If there are some specific surveys as way of example, our support team would be happy to review these for you and we are always looking at ways we can improve.

Regarding the website design, this is something that we are aware and we in the process of nailing down plans to overhaul in the future.

Advertised as £14 - £19 an hour work from home, no experience needed

I searched for jobs through Google and I saw an advert for working from home, no experience needed and £14 - £19 per hour.
Haha, £1.35 for 30 min survey is like £2.70 an hour.
The time to complete a survey is always longer and this is only if they do not screen you out.
I spent, I don't know, 2 hours entering all the details about anything in my life. I doubt it I got anything for all that time.
May be their excuse would be that the advertised £14 - £19 an hour was not their idea but that does not help anyone that does these surveys.

I believe that you have signed up to Panelbase via Uk Consumer Panels as part of their recruitment to be a Product Tester with potential earnings of £14 to £19 an hour, and as part of this they asked you to become a member of the Panelbase community. Although we can see that it does look a bit misleading, at no point do they say that you could earn this amount with Panelbase. Their website states that you need to sign up to a couple of research firms so that you can answer their surveys so that they can profile you for the Product Tester position. Panelbase is one of a handful of research sites that could have been chosen by Uk Consumer Panels in order for you to fulfil that criteria, and our user experience and remuneration are amongst the best available.

At Panelbase we pride ourselves on the excellent relationship we have with our panellists, and we take support queries very seriously for this reason. In this instance, UK Consumer Panels (a company which is unrelated to Panelbase) advertised a role as a product tester, which has not become available to you as yet. We understand your frustration, but can't do anything about it because we aren't associated with UK Consumer Panels. The vast majority of our members are very happy with the service we provide: in your case, completing our surveys was only an intermediate step towards applying for the Product Tester position with UK Consumer Panels.
