Unprofessional handling of deposit and poor communication

I had a very disappointing experience with Northpoint Property Solutions. After ending my tenancy, they refused to return my deposit, claiming it was “the last month’s rent” even though it clearly should have been protected as a deposit under UK law.

I’ve contacted them multiple times by email and phone with no proper response. Their communication has been slow and dismissive, and it feels like they’re deliberately avoiding refunding money that’s rightfully mine.

No tenant should have to go through this stress. I’m now taking legal action to recover the amount. Be very careful if you plan to rent through them, make sure your deposit is properly protected in one of the official schemes.

I had a pleasant experience with…

I had a pleasant experience with Northpoint Property Solutions. Unlike many other places that require huge deposits and a ton of paperwork, the process here was much simpler. I had lived here before and found it to be fine. When my lease was ending and I hadn't informed them in time, Phoebe was very helpful in sorting everything out for me. The rent is also reasonable.

Do not use - Fraudulent holding fee

My daughter sent her £50 holding fee for a room and then heard nothing from them. She has rung countless times, several emails and messages with no response at all for over 2 weeks, she is due to start a new job in a matter of weeks. We are now in the process of complaining and following up with the Property Redress Scheme. Shocking behaviour. The £50 non refundable holding fee is fraud/theft by any other name.
