I recently rented a property and I will confirm oakfield are the best, one of the staff Izzy took us through the whole process and it was so fast, she was patient and always respond to me so fast when I needed clarification and I appreciate that about her.
I contacted Oakfields in December 2025 as myself & my daughter were looking for a rental property
within the Hastings area i made an inquiry by their online contact form.
Shortly as i received a phone call from Toby Ford (Lettings dept)
A very pleasant young man who furnished me with several properties with were available
to rent in Hastings.
He went through our details name & address etc affordability check etc
We looked at the properties sent to us directly after by email from Mr Ford
We then booked to see a 2 bedroom ground floor flat at Martins Court Hastings
the following day.
We met Issy the following day and viewed the property she went through all the
benefits of this property for us

This helped us to understand and come to a quick decision to go forward with renting
Issy was a pleasure to meet she has a lovely welcoming manner and happy to ask any
questions we had on the day.
We then contact and advised we would like to go forward with the flat and spoke to
Toby Ford holding deposit was paid again Mr Ford had such a professional approach
but with a very approachable nature.
We then went forward with the application we then received all information needed
for credit checks and references from right move as well as our pre-tenancy information.
We are now the proud tenants of Flat 18, 2 Martin Court Hastings and could not be more
pleased with this stunning flat.
Firstly we would like to thank Toby & Issy & Jenny for all the help they gave us the
clear and precise information and supported us throughout
Keeping us updated at every point of our journey as i have a daughter who is registered
disabled as a parent it can in such situations be very difficult but our experience
with your office and your staff has been amazing and i wish to say thank you for all that
you did for myself & my daughter.
Oakfield have excellent staff. They constantly keep you updated, either as a landlord or property seller.
I highly recommend their service.
The service was excellent.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Izzy Cunninham went out of her way to help me, working tirelessly.

My journey with Oakfields was absolutely awful, they recommended the tenants they put into my property and within a month the calls started, having spent over 12k on the property to make it as lovely as poss for tenants and then Oakfields never completed 1 check on the property or tenants, they wouldn't let ne break the agreement when realised the tenants were from hell but asked to break it when they wanted to leave early, never told me they'd been put on 0% deposit. When tenants left they'd only claim 600 for me on the deposit then took out a 38 fee which they never told me about and so far to date I've paid just under 6k on damage caused by these bl@@dy tenants in 11 months of remting, I'm disappointed, disgusted, furious and would never use them again and this was on their most expensive management service they offer. Which is a complete joke except there was nothing funny about it. Wouldn't use them again if they paid me. Lost £1000's due to this company, absolutely unprofessional and my recommendation would be use another company.
If minus stars was an option that's what I would of given.

Absolutely shocking experience. From staff unable to answer simple questions, but expecting applications and deposits to be made without answering. To booking in viewings whilst properties have already been let. To advising no other properties available then seeing that’s pure lies, to then be told property is available and same price to find out it’s then £300 more expensive and completely different to one due to be viewed.
In addition to being sent emails for someone else - GDPR issue and requests for reviews on viewings that were cancelled. Absolute shocking show of a business - avoid! How this business have corner of the local market I’ve no idea!

Jenny is ultra efficient and very personable, they all understand what’s needed and provide it without hesitation. Moving is the most stressful thing, but they all made it easy peasy. As a landlord I have found Oakfield Estate Agents in Hastings an excellent parter in managing my property over the past few years. From my perspective I would recommend without reservation. I have found Oakfield swift to bring to my attention issues from my tenants so that I can get them addressed. (I am fortunate in having long-term tenants.) This is all made possible because I have Luke Seymour as a trusted, responsive and reliable contact. It is rare, for example, that I do not hear back from him within 24 hours of leaving a message during normal working hours. The clerical and tax side of Oakfield's operations (Charlotte Diamond, Zoe and Lucy White, and Skye Standivan) have always managed my affairs accurately and in a timely manner. (Thank you all.) There is no reason to change my current property management arrangements.

Oakfields are a terrible letting agent for property owners and renters.
They have left our house in disrepair for months claiming "they're were waiting for the damage to dry" and then had 2 contractors show up to inspect the house without any warning. And this is not the first time we've had work men show up with no prior warning. In fact, no contact is generally the way Oakfields do business.
And previously once the work had been completed, it was then never inspected and usually done poorly.
They had the cheek to charge £50 for a tennacy update but the only thing I can see that I paid for was incompetence. As it took them a month to update the tennacy and then once again they didn't bother to tell me the update was completed

Oakfield were forced on me when they took clients previously managed by Andrews. Their base rates are cheap but they charge extra for everything. They also failed to collect the rent for almost a year and expected me to pay for this privilege. They put almost no effort into chasing the tenant and didn’t provide the information I needed to chase them myself. Why would they if they get paid either way?
They failed to notice that the tenant was living with a child and then didn’t realise that she had moved out without giving up the tenancy for over a year. When I finally gained access to the property is was an absolute mess.
If you are a landlord, avoid them as they as unethical, rip you off and provide a terrible service.

From my experience, many of the decisions made seem to negatively affect flat owners, and the staff has generally been unhelpful. The high turnover rate is particularly frustrating—just when you finally manage to resolve something with someone, they’ve left the company by the next week.
This is the best agency I met while I was looking for a house for rent. A good team and they are very kind and efficient. Specially I must mention Izzy Cunningham she was very supportive and arranged two viewings same day because of my request. The best thing is she listen to us, understand our situation and do best for our requests. Really I am glad to deal with them.
