October Spain, unprofessional agent on chat & email.

The people at the Customer Service on October Spain are the worst, especially Miss Camille David who is apparently the head of Customer Success and has no idea on giving information to Customers.

I contacted her using the chat system regarding changing the IBAN number of my October account and she gave me the wrong information all the time.

First of all what, as I wanted to change to a new online IBAN bank, she requested me to send a proof that I am living in Spain for the last 3 months, that extra information requested IS NOT specified on my account details. It says this info there: " Para cambiar tus datos bancarios, envíenos un nuevo justificante bancario que muestre como mínimo su nombre, su IBAN y el logo del banco a contacto****october.eu o a través del chat. "

I was doing exactly as it is written there but she didn't want to accept my new IBAN number, then she sent me this link:

///438630-validar-la-cuenta-october

On that link it clearly says, proof of residence for less than 1 year and she only was accepting proof of residence for the last 3 months. I did send a proof of residence last April 2021 when I changed to a new IBAN and as it hasn't passed 1 year yet and thought this proof was still valid, but nooooo, she didn't want to accept that invoice and forced me to send another new proof of residence.

She gave me all the wrong information, I don't understand how can this lady be the head of Customer Service when she doesn't even know the rules of October in Spain.

Terrible service, I give one star because I can not give less but do not trust October, they are NOT professionals.

Hi Jordi,

I apologise for my mistake on the validity period of the proof of residency in Spain, which differs from the one used in the rest of the countries. This was a human error and I am sorry about that.

A proof of residency is requested when using an online bank as part of our KYC (know your customer) process. This is a standard process aiming at building a trusting relationship with our lenders and preventing illegal activity on the platform. As a result of your feedback, we have requested to add this information on the Personal Information page of the October account, and it will be implemented as soon as possible.

Most of the projects I invest in are…

Most of the projects I invest in are failing. They should really double check who they give money to. If we have to do the due diligence for them it is not worth it

Hi Patrick,

We’re sorry to hear that! Every borrower on October is subjected to a credit analysis, during which we analyse financial and non-financial data and determine a borrower’s capability to repay the loan. For more information about our credit analysis, please read the following tutorial: https://help.october.eu/en/articles/4163862-project-analysis-for-standard-projects

Nonetheless, we encourage every lender to analyse a project before they lend. That’s why we publish a project description and provide sufficient information to make an informed decision to invest in a project or not. As October we believe in every project on that platform. That’s why October’s management lends to every project as an investor in the October fund.

However, no one can guarantee that the borrower will repay the loan. Mismanagement, fraud and environmental circumstances have caused companies to go into default. This is not specific to October, but also happens with banks and other financial institutions. Therefore, as a lender we encourage you to diversify your portfolio as much as possible and mitigate this risk. For information on how it works, please read this tutorial: https://help.october.eu/en/articles/3564057-diversify-and-balance-your-portfolio

When you have a default, we communicate the reason why a company goes into default and what recovery actions we undertake to recover the capital lost. If you would like to have a talk about your portfolio, feel free to reach to us through chat or support@october.eu.

Have a great day!

A strong business loan platform

I started investing on October at January 2019. At the moment of writing, 3 of my 52 loans are late. This is not a bad number! My net yield after defaults (there has been 2, I'm not sure if they are real defaults, might be Italian loans that have been reorganized or something) is 6.05%. And I only have B+ to C rated loans, not better graded A+ and A. Android app is very good, I mainly use the app for investing. I trust October even at hard times like this. Only minus I can think of is that there are not enough loans.

Just started using, easy except at the beginning to register (but probably needed and better to ensure security/privacy). Becomes a game to lend to nice project, truly recommend it!

Seamless, intuitive and no banks!

I'm just getting started, 10 project so far, but the experience feels great.
Everything is seamless and the there is plenty of information to read before taking any decision. As a plus, the whole website is intuitive and well designed, the support team attentive to your satisfaction.
I have yet to receive my returns as I'm early in the process, but I have no doubt everything will go well.
And it feels great to divest from banks :o)
