Excellent but be wary of isle of sky set
Good price, perfect condition, nicely wrapped and posted immediately.
The actual set (isle of sky) was okay not as detailed as I would have liked and too uniform - not the sellers fault. Most people will be happy.

Absolutely exquisite!!
This chess board and pieces are a work of art! this shouldn’t be sitting in my semi detached property but on a pedestal in the Louvre museum!! I can’t even express my joy in receiving this on a review but I’ll give a go. Firstly the packaging has had a lot of thought and no expense spared. Then the board and pieces were immaculate. The board is really well structured and the pieces are perfectly weighted and perfect size for the board. It comes with extra queens. Perfect little compartments for your pieces built in to the board. A great centrepiece for my coffee table. Overall you have one extremely happy customer and for those of you who maybe on the fence with this purchase don’t be!! Buy it now for yourself or as a gift and I can assure you, you won’t be disappointed. Well done official Staunton you’re clearly passionate about your business & quality of your products which is rare in this day and age.

The Staunton Lewis Chessmen Are Magnificant
I treated myself to a Lewis Chessmen set after seeing the originals up close and personal at the British Museum in November 2024. The whimsical look on the faces of some of the pieces struck a chord with me, and I performed a Google search to see if larger sets were available online (the British Museum offered a small set in the souvenir shop). My search led me to Staunton and the rest is history - I bought a set and took it back to America with me. Their Lewis chessmen are magnificent and well worth the expense. If you are a chess player - or only display a set as a conversation piece - then you cannot go wrong with a purchase from Staunton.

Anegre/ maple board & 1972 English pieces. The chess set was delivered on time and very nicely packaged. The overall quality was as described, but the chess box was actually better than I had imagined. However, the square at A5 looks as though the wood had a knot in it and I would have preferred a consistent appearance and some of the squares are not precisely joined at the corners. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect as it’s a natural wood product so I guess a few irregularities are inevitable. I do like the set, it looks lovely on my table.

I searched high and low for a Chess Board and it was not as easy as what I first thought. Lots of dodgy websites. What got my attention here was the fact that they have a Youtube channel and that was the deal breaker for me. When I went to order it was discounted, upon putting it in my basket I received a further 15% discount. It arrived quickly and in fantastic condition, just what I wanted. Perfect all round I would say.
