Great service, though was not expecting non uniformity in some of the black squares of the chess board. 2 out of the 32 black squares had a different striation.

The chess set and chess pieces that I wanted were not on the website. So a quick enquiry on the site allowed me to get the 52cm Mahogany board and the Winchester 4inch Acacia pieces plus the wooden box. Much to my surprise it turned up the following day. Brilliant! Thank you.

An efficient, speedy service and well packaged delivery.

Bought a Philos 45cm 'beginner' chess set. It looks anything but, very smart looking and high quality.
The set arrived well packaged but someone had obviously tried to open it without removing the sellotape and ripped the box which was disappointing.
The set was discounted so am prepared to live with it but otherwise all good.

The product was not what I was expecting - the folding board was more flimsy than I expected so I returned it. But the 2 star review is because of the ridiculously large packaging it came in, resulting in me having to pay £10 in postage to return it. I couldn't even put it in more sensible packaging as the return policy requires it to be sent back in the original packaging. So I ended up spending approx 50% of the price of the product in delivery fees.

Lovely quality chess pieces and board, very well-crafted and perfectly weighted. I'm delighted. Better get working on my game.
A special mention too for the incredible customer service I received, I really cannot thank you enough for your advice, generosity and patience. I highly recommend Official Staunton, they are a quality outfit.

I recently purchased this 1849 Staunton Ebony Pieces, 21" Wenge Chessboard & Mahogany Box. From ordering on line to receiving my order took 26 hours and the experience was superb. The extremely helpful web site chat guided me through some questions I had before and after my purchase. A very polite professional and knowledgeable person.
On receiving the extremely well packaged parcels the very next day, I instantly knew that I had made the right choice. If a seller is prepared to package something so well in order to keep it safe in transit then the product must be worth the effort. Once unpacked I was absolutely thrilled with the quality and craftsmanship of the pieces and board. My wife and I were so excited we played a game immediately with the packaging still on the floor.
