Okavango Delta Explorations laid on an outstanding African tour of the northern part of the Serengeti and Zanzibar for us. Interpreting our wishes and vague ideas into a first-rate plan and implementing it with great efficiency and no fuss. Always available to answer any questions, however trivial, it gave us great peace of mind and ensured we had a delightful experience. I cannot recommend Okavango Delta Explorations highly enough.

We received great service from Okavango Delta Explorations. Louise went out of her way to assist us with our particular travel requirements. She is a very friendly and genuine lady. She came up with a number of solutions to help us. We highly recommend this company.

The experience was great. The best part was the way people treated the TV crew. They were kind and very respectful towards them and they were very impressed.

Excellent service from these guys. Great consideration of my needs and a truly fantastic experience capturing the best of wet and dry. The lodges are fantastic! Professional, creative and I would use them again without hesitation. And ask for Louise - she is fantastic!

Firstly, the organisation and attention to detail was huge. The Vamoos app was invaluable when we needed to check dates, information, and advice, and it was really comforting to get such a quick reply from the tour group when we told them that our Botswana Air flight had been delayed.

 

The safari itself was quite magical. Everything worked like clockwork, and all the people we came into contact with were amazingly competent, friendly, and helpful. From the moment we landed at Maun we were taken care of and looked after, and that continued until we boarded our flight back to Johannesburg. We saw an incredible selection of animals, and learned a great deal about the land and its flora. All this was explained in very interesting detail by our three guides and each of them went out of their way to make sure that we saw and experienced what we were most interested in. In each case it was very clear that the guides were part of a very well- functioning team, all committed to giving us the best possible experience. The lodge managers and trainee managers led very much by example and they always went out of their way (unobtrusively and very tactfully) to ensure we were getting what we wanted.

 

For reasons that may never be apparent, we were treated to a candle-lit dinner – just the two of us under the stars – on our final night in Shinde, and that really typified the kind of special care that we experienced throughout the safari.

 

The three lodges were different in design, layout, and character, but all were luxurious and very well run. We enjoyed our time immensely in all three, and quickly made friends with a British couple in Okuti (and went together with them to Shinde) and an American couple in Kanana. We all agreed that the three lodges were very special places to stay, and things like laundry, morning wake-up coffee (in our rooms at 5.30 or 6.00am), meals and drinks were perfect.

 

The overall safari experience and itinerary were ideal. Each lodge was in a different kind of area, and we saw different things (animals and flora) in each. Within ten minutes of landing at the first airstrip at Okuti we had seen a leopard feasting on a kill in a thicket, and five minutes later another leopard lying on a tree branch. (This was after two weeks in Kruger and Hluhluwe–iMfolozi Parks and not seeing any leopards!) Each lodge provided new experiences and new collections of animals to see, and while our groups joked that the lodges must have been paying the wildlife well to show up at key times it was very clear that the real reason we saw so much was that the guides knew the likely places to take us. Their knowledge and skill were amazing.

 

I guess that some people might have preferred three days in two lodges rather than two days in three, but for us the difference in surroundings and animal life made for an ideal itinerary over a six night period.

 

So, in summary, we don’t have any negative feedback – even minor – at all. The whole safari experience seemed to have been thought through very carefully and all the potential problems foreseen and avoided. The Ker and Downey lodges were exceptionally good places to be based, and the small plane transfers were ideal.
This was a very special experience.

Incredible. All four camps were top notch. My only feedback was that there were activities, such as boat rides at Vembura and walking safaris, that we weren't aware of but the staff accommodated on short notice.

We had a great time in the Okavango Delta. The company was very organized. Once we paid our fee everything was organized for us. The people at the camps were very nice. They have excellent customer service from meals to beverages. We loved the hot water bottles in our bed on cold nights in camp. The coffee and tea service in the morning was wonderful in the rooms. The tents were very clean and well organized. The Guides were very knowledgeable. We saw many animals from birds to the bigger animals. We experienced Lions and their cubs. We loved the Canoe ride in the evening, We saw so many birds. We went and viewed the Hippos as well. We would recommend this company. On our last day our flight went through Maun, We were surprised to be met by a company representative. She stayed with us until we left on our next flight. We were the only ones who had help getting through the process. I believe this is amazing customer service!

The whole trip was perfect! Louise made recommendations to us that were all spot on perfect. The recommendations provided were detailed and really brought things to life for us so that we could make the best choices - the guidance we received was first rate. We thoroughly enjoyed the three places we visited and the whole experience was very smooth. Thank you so much! We will be back and would highly recommend.

Louise carefully listened to what we wanted to get from the trip, and despite my work schedule patiently kept me informed of all developments in our honeymoon and planned everything. I can't fault Louise or the company's approach to organising this trip. No question or request was too much and everything was planned perfectly. We will definitely be returning and using the company again.

Louise was an enormous help, patiently answering my litany of questions and putting together an incredible itinerary within our parameters. She was always available by email and phone and spent the time to get to know our needs. Then she really delivered with an incredible week in Botswana. The camps were excellent and from the day we entered the country until the day we left, we were in heaven.

Having traveled to more than 50 countries without ever once engaging a travel agent, I was skeptical about this experience at first. But this company provides a meaningful value add, helping you navigate the overwhelming options of Botswana, selecting first-rate camps, and giving great advice that you really can only get from experienced professionals. Louise and Okavango Delta Explorations did a fantastic job planning our Safari through Northern Botswana for our honeymoon. Everything was done with great detail, and each of the four camps we visited throughout our stay was exceptional. The animal viewing, staff and guides, food, and transfers between camps could not have been better. We are looking forward to our next trip back to Africa and we will definitely get back in touch with Louise when we begin the planning process!

Louise FitzGerald was great. She arranged 3 great stays for us: Toka Leya in Zambia, Baines and Chitabe camps in the Okavango delta in Botswana. Our favorite was Chitabe-a lot of wildlife, a good guide, good food.

My wife and I are well beyond elated in the use of Okavango Delta Explorations. Louise Fitzgerald was our savior. Initially this was a simple transaction of a four night booking at Chobe Game Lodge in Botswana. Our airline had technical issues that delayed our arrival by a day. Louise made our anxiety disappear as she worked closely with us and the lodge to reset our arrival date and maintain our four night stay. We were very lucky that the lodge had space on one day and that Louise had a close relationship with the lodge to facilitate the date change. It is paramount that the people you use have been to this area as they have contacts to help their clients. We had the best stay at Chobe thanks to all the efforts of Louise.

My partner and I recently used Okavango Delta Explorations to facilitate a visit to Botswana for us, and I can only say that thanks to them, and with the charming Louise Fitzgerald to guide us, we had a most spectacular holiday. We stayed at Kanana and Shindi Camps and they provided us with everything we had hoped for - first rate safari experiences with very knowledgeable guides and luxury accommodations. I can't rate Okavango Delta Explorations highly enough and therefore can only advise you to use their services. You will not be disappointed.

We had an incredible experience planned by Louise Fitzgerald of Okavango Delta Explorations. She organized a variety of activities and places in S. Africa, Zimbabwe, and Botswana. Everything worked seamlessly from the driver who picked us up at the airport to the guides who showed us the sights. The logistics of the flights in and out of the various tent camps is nothing short of amazing. This was a trip of lifetime that we will always remember as something quite special. We are grateful for all of Louise's efforts.

Both camps were charming, managers and staff were warm and caring, landscapes are awesome, we met all the wildlife that we were looking for and, more importantly, the safaris were so well led and perfectly integrated with nature that we practically did not feel ourselves like intruders in that greatly preserved environment.

Our guides, Bevan and Slade, in Xugana were outstanding. The younger Tsapelo, in Xakanaxa, was also very good.
