The dismal performance of this company cannot be overstated. Sent wrong item from China and prevaricated over their returns and refund policy. Please avoid disappointment by not using this company.

Yet another company selling in the UK, not making it clear the items are shipped from China (taking ages). They claim 'easy returns' but this is false. With legitimate requests to return an un-used item, they do the whole dance of offering 10% refund to avoid posting it back. When refused, this rises to 20% and so on and so on, hoping you'll get bored and give up.
You're better off shopping within the UK and avoid dodgy companies like Old Monarchy.

I went to buy three pairs of shorts, two pairs of trousers and two shirts. Approximately three days after my initial purchase I saw the reviews on here and realise that they’re probably not going to be anything like the pictures on the website. So I have tried to cancel the order as I saw it was not dispatched yet from the warehouse however someone called Loek kept delaying my request to cancel the order which was quite within my consumer rights within the first 14 days. I noticed now that they have dispatched it despite me asking them not to, so I have written them a email and CC in citizens advice. I will follow up and also post an update on here on where this goes and when I receive the goods I’ll do an opening and review on YouTube.

Shipped from China, took two weeks to arrive.
Items are nothing like described, terrible quality.
Loek in their customer service team couldn't be less helpful if he tried, do everything they can to not return items or have a refund.
Avoid this company at all costs, I've lost over £100, do not put yourself in the same position.

Worst ever product I have bought online.
Did not look anything like the photos. Cheap material. One cannot imagine…..

Quality of shorts described as cotton but was super cheap quality polyester / spandex. Pretends it was £99 but really is worth even less than the £19 I paid. I have asked for a refund but suspect I will get stonewalled like everyone else. They pretend they are a prestigious Netherlerlands company but should’ve said Old Wuhan 😡

Agree be wary of buying from insta - full of scammers.

I ordered from Old Monarchy and the items they delivered are just too small. They are clearly not designed for a European Market with the XL trousers coming just below my knees! I have contacted their customer service and they are refusing to take the goods back and offering me 10% refund. Thats against UK trading laws. Do NoT Use them under any circumstances they are not a good company.

DREADFUL! Ordered a pair of shoes, dramatically reduced I was told on the website. They FINALLY arrived after 3 weeks, they're made of cheap synthetic material & I was sent the wrong size so they don't fit my feet. Tried to resolve the issue with 'Old Monarchy' but they clearly just want to keep my hard earned cash & are offering only a 20% refund with no return needed (bc it's too expensive to post internationally)
NEVER EVER AGAIN will I trust a company that 'sounds' British. This one is well dodgy imo. Stay well away

Ordered a linen shirt. Never received any order details or confirmation. The item did come after a couple of weeks, but was basically cheap, ill-made and ill-fitting rubbish from China, worth a fraction of what I paid for it. Will avoid buying anything via Facebook ads in future.

I ordered a shirt from Old Monarchy and received a faulty item that was clearly not up to standard. Despite their website claiming 30-day returns, they refused to issue a full refund unless I paid a €25 return fee—even though the item was damaged.

I spent nearly a week emailing back and forth, only to be offered partial refunds or guilt-tripped into “recycling” the product instead of returning it. They sounded polite but repeatedly ignored my consumer rights under UK law.

A refund should have been straightforward and respectful. Instead, I was stonewalled, misled, and pressured to accept less than I’m legally entitled to.

If you’re in the UK or EU, be aware: they are not following fair return practices. I’m now pursuing a chargeback through my bank and have reported them to Trading Standards.

I ordered a pair of cowboy boots which were too big (my fault I ordered the wrong size). Amazing quality, so I needed to return the large ones but ordered another pair. Customer service were fantastic. Very shocked to see such low reviews. Would highly recommend this company.

Clothing comes direct from China. No problem with delivery, I ordered linen shirt and trousers. The clothes are poor quality, cut pretty tight,the shirt is not linen, colours are not as bright as advertised. I should have known better.

Comes 2/3 sizes too small and will not respond to emails!

Their Website clearly states 30 days Hassle Free Refunds, As other customers have said, after having to email them to request a refund then having to email again stating the reason
for a return along with pictures proving the items are unworn. They respond offering a discount, which are followed by several improved offers, (10, 20, 30, 40%) while ignoring repeated requests for a full refund. Then to be told that there would be a €25 fee added to each item because their warehouse has temporarily been moved to Asia, possibly to scare customers into paying a ridiculous amount to return cheap quality items. i told them they are in breach of UK Consumer Protection Laws and they haven't yet replied. I've contacted my bank, hopefully something will be done

Do not buy!! It’s a scam. I tried to refund it but they offered 10% of a refund and keep the shoes. They said they warhouse is closed down at the moment and they cannot refund it. They should not be allowed to sell anything if they cannot refund.

Firstly, they are deleting all their reviews so people don't know how much of a scam these people are!!
I bought 2 pairs of shoes from this company on 11th July which from their website said would arrive in 7-10 days but was not received until 24th July. Also I never receieved a confirmation email of my purchase. When I asked for it, they just sent me an email with my tracking number. Also their office address on the website is in the Netherlands so I thought they would be a good respectable brand but the shoes from the tracking show they came from China, now what I wanted. They were packaged poorly, not even in a shoe box. I opened them and found they were far too small, definitely not a UK Size 5 as advertised. I contacted them the same day I received them to ask for a return label as their website says Hassle Free returns within 14 days for EU consumers. Their first email said they would provide a returns label once I prove they are unworn with original tags which I did. Their next email said their EU returns centre was closed so all returns had to go to Asia and it was expensive so offered me a 10% refund and I can keep the shoes. I declined as the shoes don't fit and are from China so I don't want them. Their next email came back with a 20% refund. I have given them a final chance to offer me a full refund before I do a charge back on my bank but do NOT use this company if you want quality items and value your money!!
27.07 Update - They have said their final offer is 30% refund even though their website says hassle free returns. I will be seeking legal advice and getting a chargeback.
28.07 Update - I have received a chargeback from my bank and have reported them to UK Trading Standards Service, Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (because of the address provided on the website) and Public Security Bureau and Administration for Industry and Commerce in China as that is where the shipping has come from. I have also taken legal advise and will pursue further to get them shut down to stop more people being scammed. Also they offered me 40% refund today xD

I ordered a pair of shoes which should have been 4.5 but turned out to be 4 so wanted to send them back using their ‘easy return and exchange’ policy. So far they are refusing to take them back and ask me to keep them for a 20% refund. Their reasons are frankly manipulative: “Therefore, we would like to offer you the following: You can keep the item and, as a gesture of goodwill, we will send you a 20% refund – without you having to return the item or incur any additional costs. This is just a small gesture to thank you for your patience and to show you how much we appreciate you. To be completely honest, international returns to our temporary warehouse in Asia can be difficult and expensive, and we want to spare you that stress and expense. As a small, dedicated team, we do our best to offer our customers fair, thoughtful, and simple solutions.”
I just want my money back!

Would have given 0 stars if I could. Bought a Linen shirt and after around 2 weeks I received a poor quality shirt that feels awful, probably polyester, definitely not Linen and definitely not what I ordered as it doesn't even look the same as the photo.

Item was delivered with no paperwork, tried to get a full refund and was dismissed by being given the choice of 10% here and then worked up to 40%. I declined and was told that I would have to pay the return cost to Asia, then a refund offered minus the €25 to send it to Asia.

I have reported Old Monarchy to Trading Standards and their European equivalent too, they purposely mislead me and refused to offer an appropriate refund as you'd expect from any reputable company.

Shop elsewhere.

Ordered 2 “linen” shirt. When finally arrived, after 2 weeks (I’m from the UK), the shirts were not linen, but instead some type of cheap polyester. Also, the quality of both shirts were very poor, almost looked like the pattern was printed on. Which is fine, but that’s clearly not what was advertised, and at £30 a shirt, I expected more.
When I tried to get a refund, I was told that it would be really expensive for ME to send the shirt back, and that I should expect a 10% refund and keep the shirt. After multiple email exchanges which lasted day, I reluctantly expected a 40% refund. I probably could have fight harder, and got 100% refund but gave in in the end. Their website clearly says they offer a 90 day return policy, and my email confirmation said in the case of a refund, they would issue a return label.
I feel completely ribbed off by the whole experience and won’t be using Old Monarchy again, and I strongly recommend others don’t either.
