By the way
By the way, don't trust the replies. They'll keep going long after you've said enough. Mostly it's computer generated replies so they won't answer anything you ask. Mostly. And don't 'buy' the horrible high return cost as you paid for shipping to you in the first place so you Mostly know the postage. They'll give a return address after '100' emails but make it really difficult to return with lots of proof being on you until they refund anything. Just don't buy!
cheap Chinese stuff advertise as great…
cheap Chinese stuff advertise as great quality. if you wamt a refund or return they give you 10% back . wow what a waste of time and money
I agree with everything other customers…
I agree with everything other customers have stated and I wish I had looked before ordering
The item is cheap and awful and you have no returns information, except the website saying an easy returns process! Which is not true, yes they make you send a photo and then tell you their returns centre is closed, so would you like 10% back! No. I want all my money back!
Wrong size sent. Complicated return process
I ordered some shoes, specifically selecting my size. The order was made on 5th August but the shoes arrived on 17th August. This is not terrible but still a very long time. The size that arrived is completely wrong. I request a return/refund but they wanted to exchange for correct size but wanted to charge me £10 for shipment. I definitely would discourage anyone to order from them.
Any thing bought on line must first be…
Any thing bought on line must first be checked with trust pilot simply because of the high volume of scammers allowed to use the website
Be warned!
I ordered a pair of shoes. They took ages to arrive. When they did they were poorly packaged in a plain plastic bag. They were the wrong size and when I tried to return them they made every excuse not to take them back and refused to refund my money saying I would have to pay shipping costs of €25. I see I am not the only person to experience this service. Be warned.
Absolute con.
Absolute con. This company should be investigated and shut down. Do not buy you have been warned!
I am still waiting for a reply from…
I am still waiting for a reply from them as I want to send item back not good at responding would not use again
Beware fake site
All items are sent from China, I ordered shoes that took weeks to arrive and when they did arrive they were packaged badly to the point item is damaged. Sizing is small, quality is very poor. My item was reduced from £150 down to £39.99 !! Plastic cheap rubbish only fit for the dustbin. After reading reviews I see asking for a return is pointless so lesson learnt. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY
Do not buy from this company!!
Ordered a pair of orthopaedic shoes. They arrived and they are such poor quality they can not be worn. Frayed at the back and crushed in and uneven on the toes. Not what was ordered at all. Trying to get money back but they are insisting I am only going to get 10% back as they will not pay for the shoes to be returned and it will cost me a fortune to send back to their warehouse in Asia. Just awful scam company so avoid at all costs
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. THE POLICE SHOULD INVESTIGATE THEM. I wish that I had read these reviews before ordering three shirts from them which were not suitable. Received exactly the same emails preventing returns of the unwanted items....Told returns centre in Holland temporarily closed....would have to return the items to the Asian returns centre....would cost a lot....but then offered 10% 20% off items to keep them....then 50% off another purchase....despite making it very clear in all my emails that I wanted to return the items and a full refund....absolute crooks....Will talk to my bank to see if I can get a refund but not sure of current regulations as I write this....DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY ITS GAME OVER....
A complete scam of of a website. Avoid at all cost
My experience is the same as all of these other reviews. I bought a lightweight shirt for £30 from this website. I didn’t realise the shirt came from China - the website address was in The Netherlands. It took two or three weeks to arrive and was far too small for me, despite me following the measurement guide. The quality was also very poor.
So I started on the process of making a return and getting a refund. This has proved to be impossible. The person apparently fronting this company is called Loek Vergouwe. Once you start the process of returning a product you will receive a succession of emails claiming the local warehouse is closed and returns have to be made to China at the buyer,s expense. You are offered a refund of 10%, then 20% up to 40% of the cost of the item after successive emails. I have been doing this for about two weeks and despite my various complaints get an email back which appears to be using the same template, ignoring anything I say.
I am now being told that my 30 days are running out and have been given an address in China to return my shirt.
I have done a fairly brief search on the Web to find out a bit more about Loek Vergouwe. He has various appearances on Tik Tok, Instagram etc , is very young and talks a lot about the benefits of Drop Shipping and generally about how to make money.
It’s difficult to know where these emails come from exactly. As someone else has said, they are often sent in the middle of the night so could easily originate from China.
I have wasted far too much time on trying to deal with this company. I have no intention of pursuing it further because it will be pointless. I suspect the website is a complete scam and feel stupid that I have been taken in.
As everyone else has said, it should be avoided at all costs.
Absolute scam artists
Absolute scam artists . Sent me awful cheap shoes and refusing to refund me saying they have no returns centre . Avoid !!
Liar Loek is the front person in this…
Liar Loek is the front person in this company. I have got involved in this situation as my mother couldn’t cope with the continued harassment from Loek who has REFUSED to do the proper thing and refund and receive the goods back. Exactly the same problems as the previous 46 reviews have suggested. I have given it a one star to be able to write this review. There should be no stars. The shoes that arrived for my father were appalling. No way the right size and poor quality. Once the return process started, Loek must be emailing lots of people the same thing. 10% etc, sweat shop is closed at the moment, small team. An absolute scam and I have reported the company to action fraud uk. AVOID AVOID AVOID. Do not waste your money.
Deceptive company out of china
Dreadful. Scam company. Said they didn’t have my email so no confirmation of order. Multiple emails to them after 16 days : Reported to bank as a scam and they refunded me - day 17 a cheap and wrong sized shoe arrived. asked old monarchy for a return label so I could return in order to refund my bank but they refused to this. DO NOT USE this site
In my opinion this a scam company
In my opinion this a scam company. They appear to be drop-shipping mass-produced and very cheap looking clothes made in China (courier on packaging was SunExpress) but they market them as high-end.
-I bought the 'Men's Elastic Waist Summer Shorts'
-Marketed as reduced from 134 CHF to 34 CHF (i.e 75% discount). I would say shorts are not even worth 10 CHF. A quick 'Google Lens' search shows the same photos on Temu and Ebay.
-No labels at all, to show what they are made of etc
-When you purchase an item, you have to put in a phone number or email to continue, but I did not receive any confirmation. When I emailed the company they said I had not put in an email address (I can't remember but like I said you have to put in an email or telephone number to continue) and nothing was emailed or text messaged. So I had to email them to get updates.
-Probably will not bother with refund judging by other reviews here will be a waste of time
Avoid OldMonarchy.com
Avoid OldMonarchy.com – total scam
Ordered shoes that took forever to arrive. When it finally did, it was poorly packaged, crushed as they were not in a box and clearly affected in quality.
Their “easy returns” policy on the website is a complete lie. You cannot return items, even if they don’t fit. Instead, they send endless emails offering insulting partial refunds—10% or 20%—and tell you to keep the product. No matter how many times you ask, they refuse to process a proper return and refund.
This is not a legitimate shopping experience. Slow delivery, poor quality, dishonest returns, and manipulative customer service.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this site entirely.
Don’t be fooled into buying from this…
Don’t be fooled into buying from this site , they offer great discounts on what looks like quality clothing , but unfortunately it was low quality , utter rubbish , I could probably make a better shirt blindfolded
SCAM! Different cheap product being sold
Different cheap product being sold, not the picture. Also from China. Can't believe the prices for what are frankly terrible cheap nasty looking products in reality. It's a scam.
***DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS BRAND***
***DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS BRAND***
As with other customers, I purchased a product believing the company to be based in the Netherlands. I actually needed the trousers for a wedding which was a week later, and immediately messaged the seller to see if they might be shipped in time - to which they replied enthusiastically that they would be shipping immediately. A week later I got a notification to say that they HAD been shipped...internally from one Chinese depot to another.
The trousers that arrived did not even have Old Monarchy branding inside them - instead they had a Chinese brand name. The trousers are appalling quality, you could have got the equivalent from Shein direct for £5, rather than the £50 I spent.
The conversation about returns is ongoing, but I am receiving responses at about 4am every morning which indicates even further that this is a Chinese, not a Dutch company.
As with others, I have been sent a number of offers to keep the product and receive a % refund back. I am up to 20% now, and also been told that a temporary returns facility is closed. I've responded to say that the returns address is in the Netherlands, and nothing in that policy refers to international shipping.
I believe this is a stalling tactic which will take me outside of the time period for a full refund. I have just sent screenshots of others who have had similar experiences in a bid to get them to stop the nonsense and lies.
