Olympia was the first publisher I submitted my manuscript to. While I was thrilled to receive an offer from them several weeks later, I'll admit that I was initially hesitant to accept for various reasons, including reading up on mixed reviews regarding the company. In the end however, with modest expectations and accepting that success was not guaranteed for everyone, I decided to go ahead and sign with them.
While understandably lengthy, I found my experience in working with Olympia fascinating and very good overall. They have been really respectful and accepting of my input during production, just as I aimed to be of theirs. My dedicated production co-ordinator has been great, professional and helpful throughout the process, and it has been quite exciting to see my first book gradually take shape.
By the time I'm writing this, my book is in the finalising stage of production. Whether or not my first novel may find success, I will leave that up to the world to decide. But I would like to thank Olympia Publishers for helping to make this dream a reality and giving me the opportunity to get my foot in the door as a first time author. I think the only regret I may have had would have been to not sign up with Olympia at all - and thankfully, I don't have to live with that.
For the first time in producing a novel, I would say a job well done, and I hope to collaborate with them again in the future as I will continue writing more books.

Totally scammed me. Sadly I was clueless at the time. They published my book, in other words it was put on Amazon. No other marketing done. Which I later realise I could have done myself. I received pennies for each sold. They eventually gave me back my rights and we parted ways. I later found out they carried on selling my book on Amazon and earning my royalties. When I contacted them to complain they never responded... still waiting. Do not even think of using them. Do it yourself.

They made me pay 1300-1400e. Published it, never did any marketting. And when it didn't sell (because no marketting, they of all people should know that) they gave me my rights back and unpublished my book. So, basically, they ripped me off.
I also asked for a .docx format of my book. And they sent me a pdf file. Time will tell if they are honest or not. (The pdf file was sent after my review, after they answered)

The book took just under a year to be published in paperback, but this is within the contracted timeframe. The Kindle version, however, won’t be out until about two months outside of the contracted time. This is because Olympia are only allowed to release three books on Kindle per day. Looking into this, that is the limit for self-publishers, so I assume that Amazon don’t view Olympia as proper publishers. This is quite frustrating as I have international readers that only buy on Kindle.
Correspondence was a bit hit and miss. James is excellent at responding and is a good person to go to if you have a problem. Other than that, it took them about a week to reply to run of the mill stuff, which again is annoying if you are just trying to clarify something in one of their emails.
Other than their own website and social media, the marketing is pretty much blanket emails from them to various groups and companies. You can just as easily do it yourself. In fact, they ask you to give them email addresses and names anyway.
They asked me for a portrait photo and a video of me opening my box of books. I expected the photo to be in the book, but it isn’t. In fact, I can’t see it, or the video anywhere. They may be on a platform I don’t use, of course.
The paperback itself is a bit disappointing if I’m honest. The cover is very thin and bends up immediately. The paper itself looks and feels a bit cheap. Coupled with the price (which I had no say in), I have to say that I feel a bit guilty about what my readers are having to pay to read my story.
One area that I believe they could improve is in sales feedback. They say that you will only really know how the book is doing twice a year when you receive your royalties. That’s a real disappointment when you are excited about the project, They know how many they are printing on a monthly basis, so that at least would be something to look forward to. If, like me, you don’t expect the world’s bookshops to be begging for supplies of stock, print numbers and sales numbers aren’t going to be hugely different.
So, the two outstanding parts for me are the Kindle release and royalties. Both of which have been commented on in other peoples’ reviews, and now make me a bit nervous, if I’m honest.

Everyone is very professional. They did not mind answering questions. And the publication on whole is extremely patient. They made the process so pleasant. They also give you so many tools to bring about your own success. Overall they made my first impression working with a publication beautiful and orderly. I would publish with them again, actually i can’t wait.

This is my second book coming out with Olympia. They have guided me through the process carefully. They reply to my queries rapidly and politely. I find them a delightful and professional company.

I was a first-time author, completely clueless about the publishing world. From the start, Olympia took me by the hand and led me through everything. They were extremely patient, helpful, and friendly. If I had a question or concern, I could expect a prompt response. What they claim on their website, they back up with their actions. Completely transparent. I have been so impressed, I never considered a different publisher for my second book. I’m genuinely looking forward to working with them again.

I sent my first Manuscript to about five different companies. Olympia was one of the first to respond and offer a contract. While I won't pretend the process was easy, at least for me, however, they were relatively quick to respond and take action or answer any of my inquiries, and now my first book will be released on the 8th of May.

I'm a first time writer aged 78. After some hesitation I decided to submit a manuscript to three publishers. Olympia's response was timely and positive. They seemed to have the most professional team and general organisation compared to the others. I appreciated the patience of Production Co-ordinater as my book (On the Bench) went back and forth with changes and corrections. We are now at the launch prep time. The publicity strategy looks impressive. I'm now looking forward to see how it all unfolds to what I believe is a wide market.

I sent my book to Olympia in the hope of getting some feedback. They offered me a contract and so far they have lived up to my expectations. My book is due out on the eighth of May and as this is my first I am really excited. I have worked with Olympia responding professionally and promptly to all their emails. I believe that you get out of this process what you are willing to put in. So far my experience has been a very positive one and I would recommend Olympia to any aspiring writer.

Any so-called publisher who can't write a proper sentence or two in response to your submission merits no respect; if they can't write, how can they judge if you can write? They're after your money, not because they think your work has merit, but because they think that you are a sucker. That's it.

As a writer (Will J. MacQuoid is my pen name) with a new and innovative style of literature, including poetry, Olympia Publishers were enthusiastic to take me on, inspiring me to submit more work! The process from submission to publication is relatively easy, and you can always rely on the team at Olympia Publishers to help you during the process. An outstanding experience to be an Olympia Publishers' Author!

Writing and publishing historical fiction is a challenge. Finding the right publisher is as well. In my case, Olympia proved the right publisher in terms of collaboration and communication. It takes a lot of time, energy and knowledge to write a historical novel. You want it to be amusing, diversionary, and enchanting. You want your novel to be contagious for your convictions. You have to believe in your work, that history is not only a fascinating tale in itself but is a well honed instrument with which we can understand our times, our neighbors and perhaps ourselves. I am happy to have found Olympia as my publisher of two substantial and attractive books.

I had an overall positive experience working with OLYMPIA PUBLISHERS for the publication of my book. From start to finish, the process was smooth and professional, even though it took a year from contracting to publication.
The journey began with a clear and transparent contracting phase, where all aspects of the agreement were well-explained. From there, the house styling process ensured that my work aligned with the publisher’s high standards while still preserving my artistic vision.
The cover design process, however, was somewhat disappointing. I felt that the proposals lacked creativity and effort. In the end, in order to move forward, I chose one of the options without being completely satisfied.
Their proofreading process was satisfactory, though it left several issues that required my attention. However, the production coordinator was always available to review and address these points as many times as needed.
Finally, we are just beginning the publicity and promotion phase, so I don’t have enough perspective to share my thoughts on this phase yet.
Overall, I recommend OLYMPIA PUBLISHERS to any author looking for a professional and supportive publishing experience!

Yes they got my book online in book stores. However, they placed it in the completely wrong genre, sent it to the wrong book reviwers (It's a young adult book, they submitted it under adult sci-fi) Also, they went to print when their editor (i'm pretty sure they use people where English is not their first language; as there were tons of spelling, grammar, & punctuation mistakes)
As a result i'm enquiring about having the rights released back to me. I have also spoken to some other authors of theirs, who like me have ended up wanting the rights back, as they messed up their books too.
I signed with them July 2021. Book was released October 2023. I haven't received any communication from them since Summer 2024.
They take over a month to reply to e-mails, when I have e-mailed them.
I hardly go online to write reviews, either I'm extremely happy about a service/business that I want to help promoting them, or i gave them enough time to prove they can do better and yet they failed again and again.
Took me 12 years to write a book, editing it 3 times professionally and searching for publishers.
I understood Olympia publishers are hybrid, but they made me believe that once the agreement is signed, I have my book out there like no other. I raised all my concerns right at the beginning and they assured me they got it. I must admit that I came to realize that they are a one man show business with 20 emails , PR, ops, legal, production, etc. and checked them on linkedin, 1 person , James.
I paid over $4200 to them, the sample covers they provided me were absolute rubbish. Showed me how careless they are on what they are putting out there. But again, I said to myself, you are overthinking.
Long story short, after 2 years of waiting, they finally published my book, (with the cover I made somewhere else and paid for it seperately), full of mistakes, and ZERO ZERO ZERO marketing and PR. They asked me to send them emails of the neighbouring book stores to email them, which they didn't (I could do it myself).
I can write for 2 days here, JUST DON"T BE AN IDIOT and TRUST ME ON THIS. DO NOT waste your money. As a writer to another writer with so much of hopes and dreams, please don't waste your money on them. you are better off self publishing it. Don't bother their reply to this comments, I've been talking to them for over 4 months before I wrote this review and they are fully aware of what they did.

So far so good for my first book. Took a little while to get this far but proof-reading was very professional and now moving at pace, with publication due in mid-March. Looking forward to some publicity and sales!
