No news, ignoring the matter

Tried contacting Omanair NUMEROUS times as we are a family of 4 travelling together. Our flight was delayed over 9 hours which meant we arrived at 4am!!! Omanair chose to just ignore the matter.

Abandoned during cancellation caused by unrest

Oman Air cancelled our return flight from Dar es Salaam during a period of significant political unrest, including curfews and military presence.
Despite the seriousness of the situation, Oman Air provided no meaningful support. Communication was poor, updates were minimal, and there was no proactive assistance with rerouting or getting us home safely.
We repeatedly tried to engage with both the airline and their agents, but were left effectively stranded, forced to make last-minute replacement bookings at our own expense.
When an airline cancels a flight, especially in a safety-critical situation, passengers reasonably expect clear communication and practical solutions. Oman Air delivered neither.
This experience showed a complete lack of customer care when it mattered most. Deeply disappointing and not an airline I would trust again.

⚠️ Serious Issue with Oman Air Check-In…

⚠️ Serious Issue with Oman Air Check-In Procedures
I want to highlight a major problem faced by expatriates travelling to the UK with Oman Air.
Oman Air staff are demanding that passengers show their UK immigration status directly on their personal phones, instead of accepting the official UK Home Office share code. The rules are very clear: passengers only need to provide the share code, and airline staff must check the status themselves.
Yet staff refuse to do this and, unbelievably, threaten to cancel the journey if travellers don’t hand over or display private information on their own device.
And what if someone isn’t good with technology?
What if their battery is low, the network is weak, or the website glitches?
According to Oman Air’s current behaviour — you’re basically stranded. No help, no support, just pressure.
To make it worse, the customer-service staff — despite being well-presented — act in an incredibly unprofessional and outdated manner. Instead of assisting passengers or resolving issues, they threaten you and walk away, leaving travellers stressed and confused.
This is not just poor service — it completely ignores official UK guidelines and puts passengers at risk for no valid reason.
Oman Air must fix this immediately and ensure their staff follow proper procedures instead of making up their own rules.

Oman Air rescheduled my departing…

Oman Air rescheduled my departing flight without any prior notification. The only emails I received from them were marketing messages inviting me to bid for an upgrade. There was never a notice about the schedule change that made my connecting flight impossible to take. I discovered the change only when I arrived at the airport on November 16.

With no Oman Air ground staff available and customer service offering no real help, I was forced to buy a last-minute ticket with another airline just to avoid overstaying my visa. When I called the hotline, I was told to email WebSalesRefund. I completed the required forms on November 16 and have sent several follow-ups since then.

Up to this day, I have not received any update on my refund request. Only automated replies. No investigation results. No human response. Nothing.

I paid for a service Oman Air failed to deliver due to their own incompetence, yet they have kept my money and ignored every attempt to resolve the issue.

My experience with Oman Air has been extremely stressful, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Never again!

Never Again Oman Air – Business Class Without Business, Economy Without Comfort

I flew with Oman Air in November 2025, both in business class and economy. This was, without exaggeration, the worst airline experience I have ever had.

Business Class – Outbound
The first flight was delayed by 2.5 hours due to de-icing. That can happen, and I can accept that.
But I had paid for lounge access specifically for the transfer, and because of the delay I had to run to the connecting flight. So the lounge was entirely wasted.

Once on board, things got worse:
• Almost nothing from the business class menu was available; only chicken with rice.
• No “any time dining” – just a single service shortly after takeoff.
• No breakfast service, even though it was on the printed menu.
• No amenity kit because they “ran out”.
• No turndown service.
• No pyjamas, even though Oman Air normally provides these in business class.

In short: I paid for a full business class product but received a stripped-down, budget version that was absolutely not worth the money.

Aircraft Change & Economy Seat Problems
When I booked, both long-haul segments were supposed to be on a Dreamliner, with decent space in economy.
One week before departure they swapped the Muscat – Bangkok flight to a smaller aircraft with noticeably tighter seats.
For someone who is 1.88m tall, this is simply painful. Comfort is important, and Oman Air failed completely.

Chaotic Schedule Change Before Return Flight
Two days before our return flight, Oman Air sent a message saying the BKK departure would be three hours later. This meant our connection in Muscat was no longer possible.

I called Oman Air. They told me they would rebook us to the day before.
The next day nothing had changed. When I called again, they suddenly claimed the schedule “had always been like this” and that I must have made a mistake. They refused to rebook anything.

Trip.com (where I booked the tickets) ended up fixing it, but we lost one full day of vacation because of Oman Air’s incompetence and denial.

Paid for an Extra Seat – Oman Air Gave It Away
Because I need more legroom and all extra-legroom seats were already taken, I bought three seats instead of two for the return journey.
It cost me €100 per segment, so €200 total. I paid and received official confirmation.

At the airport, they simply gave my extra seat to someone else “because the flight was full.”
No space, no comfort, no empty seat – and no automatic refund.
I now have to email and chase my own money.

Summary
• A business class product that doesn’t deliver what is promised (food, service, amenities).
• Last-minute aircraft downgrade to tighter, uncomfortable economy seating.
• Schedule changes handled with zero responsibility and even blame-shifting to the customer.
• Extra seat purchased and confirmed, then reassigned to someone else without compensation.

Conclusion:
I have never experienced an airline this unreliable and inconsistent.

We booked a flight with wheelchair…

We booked a flight with wheelchair assistance and called upfront about baggage. The phone operator confirmed us that of the total is within limit then it shouldn’t be a problem. On the counter the guy was so stupid. We stood in line and he said we need to distribute the weight to match exact per piece baggage even when our total weight was 3 kgs under the allowed. Also didn’t care of a toddler with me and my recent surgery. He additionally asked me to stand in the line again after the adjustments were done. Pathetic. Inhuman. Worst people are hired here.

Terrible service

Terrible service, my transit flight departed because of delay of 1,5 hour from Karachi.
Standing at the service desk at muscat airport right now and no one is there to help. The only thing they said was to wait for 1 or 3 hours.

Never again book a fly with Oman air

Booking re : GPTDUQ
Without information and our agreement, Oman air has changed newly, rudely our on April 2025 booked fly WY 907 direct with Oman air homepage, from Muscat (14h55) to Salalah(16h35) on 19. Dec. to 19h40 - 21h20. After our strong protest against this impossible fly time change, we have to ring its call center and negotiated a better fly time. But until now, 48 hours still don't get any confirmation and new E-tickets. Oman air is really dishonest, distrust-able company. This airline has changed our travel to a nightmare and chaos !

Biohazard on flight

I was in the gate lounge ready to board when a very sick woman came out of the toilets. She collapsed on the floor and continued to vomit violently into a bag. I alerted the ground staff (who were already aware) and said it would be unfair on both the sick passenger and other passengers to allow her to fly. (This is basic hygiene protocol and should not need explaining.) They dismissed my concerns and allowed the extremely sick woman to board. An hour later our flight was delayed as she was escorted off (barely able to walk). They risked the health of the entire cabin (and the individual flying who clearly needed urgent treatment or fluids). They then proceeded to tell us the air conditioning was broken, meaning more people began to feel unwell to overheating. Eventually they fixed it but managed to freeze us to death instead. Food was appalling (even by plane food standards) and the staff were generally unhelpful and surly.

Worse airline ever…even to their own sindbad gold members

I am omanair sindbad gold member and everytime i get treated bad, they dont look after their loyal customers, i was once told i was hiding extra luggage behind a pillar to scam the airline, when they checked they realised nothing was there. today they had a problem with me bringing a extra duty free bag, and im their biggest customer, trust me do not fly with this airline at all, if they cant treat me good how will they treat a random customer flying with them, i travel with omanair for convenience for my business but if i had it my way i would never fly with them, not once have they ever looked after me or have gibven me a complimentary service, never…and i am a weekly traveller, ive held back from leaving a review for quite a while, but honestly its the worse airline who dont care about hospitality or customer service,

Complete Silence from Oman Air After Multiple Requests

My passport did not have enough blank pages remaining, which I unfortunately did not notice in time, and this prevented me from boarding my Oman Air flight.

Following this situation, I immediately completed all the required steps to request a refund: I filled out the form, sent all the necessary documents, and followed up by email multiple times.

It has now been several months and my file is complete, yet I have never received a single response from the airline. No follow-up, no explanation, no feedback at all.

The total silence from an international airline like Oman Air is simply unacceptable. To this day, my refund is still pending. This experience makes you feel completely ignored as a customer. I strongly do not recommend Oman Air as long as they continue to handle customer cases this way.

Worst customer service. Avoid at all costs!

Would give a zero if possible. Worst customer service. You can't directly speak with the cancellation/refund team. You have to contact them through mail and they respond 20 days later, wtf. Low cost airlines have better customer service. They change the flight timing and don't inform you via mail or sms. I saw the changed schedule by chance on the app and have been trying to get a full refund as the timing is no longer suitable for me.

Think twice before travelling with an infant

I was travelling with a 9 month bsby and from the outset the journey was difficult. There is no clarity on what allowances an infant has online, so I phoned their customer service line, the advisor didn’t know and said to call back the following day. I did that, another advisor clueless, she told me to email - so I did. 3/4 days later, a response, “not our domain” contact customer services, emailed another inbox, not our domain, try this team - I got another response today on my return saying customer service again!! I just risked taking a car seat and buggy - you know what it was allowed! The staff member at check in was very helpful.
Next was getting a bassinet on the plane, when booking they were trying to charge £75 a seat - that would have been an additional £225 for our family to sit together! Thankfully the way out it was allocated to us but the way back , despite all 3 bassinet rows being empty they wouldn’t give it to us without paying and we were allocated next to the toilet - not ideal on a night flight while trying to keep a baby asleep on a lap.
The staff didn’t seem to know or care, it all just felt a bit budget, something you don’t expect from a Middle East carrier! We loved Oman and would like to go back but will be looking at alternate carriers.

Recent trip was a complete shambles

Recent trip was a complete shambles.
Cancelled flights, late arrivals and impossible to speak to anyone who can help.

Used to fly Omanair business class many years ago and they were great.
Since they have recently joined One World I booked a return AMS to BKK.
Flights delayed and aircraft changed.
Onboard the service was poor and food not great.

So bad on the way home I paid to upgrade to Business Studio (their sort of first class). Day before return they delayed the flight by 4 hrs then hrs later reinstated it back to original departure time however changed aircraft. As it had no Business Studio Cabin I was downgraded back to business. Fine with me but still awaiting a refund 3 months later.
Mastercard on the case.

Omanair wrote to Mastercard and said I did get my upgrade from economy to business lol. They have forgotten I was in business in the first place!
As I said a shambles.

Extremely Disappointing Customer Service Experience

Extremely Disappointing Customer Service Experience

I recently canceled my Oman Air flight via the web portal but never received any confirmation or follow-up. To clarify the situation, I called the Oman Air hotline in Switzerland for assistance.

Before reaching a representative, I was guided through a hotline configurator that asked three questions to direct me to the right department:

Language: German (pressed "1")

Reason: Cancellation (pressed "2")

Booking Class: Economy (pressed "1")

After a considerable waiting time, an agent finally answered. Unfortunately, he immediately told me that he was not responsible for cancellations and completely refused to help. His only suggestion was to “write an email to support.” When I kindly asked him to forward me to the correct department, he insisted that no one in the entire organization could handle cancellations over the phone.

What made things worse was that he denied the very existence of the “flight cancellation” option in the hotline configurator — even though I had just selected it myself — and made me feel as if I was not telling the truth. He never asked for any booking details or made any effort to check my case.

I am deeply disappointed by this level of service. This experience has made me lose trust in Oman Air. With airlines like SWISS and Lufthansa, which I fly frequently, such poor treatment has never happened to me. Sadly, I believe this will be my last booking with Oman Air.

Don't fly with this airline ruined my holiday. I booked a flight to go from London to Bangkok. Supervisor called nayna extremely rude, unhelpful. She claimed my passport was damaged on the edge of the passport it's a British Passport issued on 2018 . I have travelled to many other countries with the same passport. Oman customer service is disgusting not will to provide help or guidance when I asked for them to get it checked by another staff.

I’d like to give Oman Air a ZERO rating. This airline is close to being fraudulent. They offer you a product, take your money when you agree to flights, times and aircraft being offered, then change aircrafts, cancel flights and don’t communicate with clients at all. Paid for business class flat bed tickets at great cost, and ended up in premium economy in older style planes at changed times which added 16+ hours to travel. Not a word of warning. Not a word in response to my emails (no phone number of course). NO CARE. They are essential thieving from customers. AVOID at all costs.
