Honest, Knowledgeable and Went Above and Beyond to Fix Our Boiler

What can I say… I’ve never wanted to write a review as much as I do right now.

What stood out the most about Colin is how much he genuinely cares about getting the job done properly. He explains everything clearly in a way that actually makes sense and talked me through what he was doing as he worked. I even joked that he should become a teacher because he explains things so well.

I was recommended to Colin at Omni-Heat by a friend after two years of problems with our Intergas 25 boiler. It’s about 7 years old and had been constantly cutting out. The original installer came back, couldn’t work out the issue, still billed us, and left us with a boiler that still didn’t work.

One of my closest mates is a plumber and even he said he wouldn’t touch the boiler because they’re not a great make and a lot of engineers avoid working on them.

Colin came round and was completely upfront. He explained that not many engineers like working on these boilers and that he hadn’t worked on this particular model before either. Instead of walking away, he took it on as a personal challenge and went above and beyond to figure it out. He even went away and researched how this type of boiler works before coming back so he could properly diagnose the problem.

One moment really summed Colin up. While he was on the phone to Intergas, the engineer initially suggested it might be a particular part costing about £35. Five minutes later he rang back and said actually it was probably that part plus another one costing around £260.

As soon as Colin got off the phone he said, “Not a chance. That sounds like he’s trying to get more money out of you. Let’s start with the £35 part and see what happens.”

Sure enough, that fixed the boiler.

He could very easily have fitted the expensive part and added a few hundred pounds to the bill and I would never have known any different. Instead he went with the logical fix and saved me the money. That moment told me everything I needed to know about him.

After two years of the boiler cutting out and a house that never stayed warm, we finally have constant heating and hot water again.

Honestly, I’ve never been happier with a service. Colin went above and beyond and I can’t recommend him highly enough.
