The worst experience of my life!!

The worst experience of my life!!!

I have never been treated with such disrespect and hostility as I was at the airport in Paris. The staff were extremely rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional.
I was pushed aside by an employee while others were allowed to go ahead of me, as if I didn’t matter. During boarding, another staff member aggressively took my documents out of my hand, rolled their eyes, and spoke about me in French to colleagues in a clearly negative and mocking way. It was humiliating.
What shocked me the most was not just the attitude, but the complete unwillingness to communicate. When asking check-in and boarding staff if they spoke English, the only response was a cold “no English” no effort to help, no basic courtesy, nothing. This is an international airport, and yet there was zero attempt to assist travelers.
The overall behavior I experienced felt discriminatory and degrading. I was made to feel unwelcome and looked down on throughout the entire process.
I travel frequently and have been to many countries, but I have never experienced this level of rudeness and disrespect anywhere else. This was not just bad service it was genuinely upsetting and unacceptable.
Something needs to change. This is not how people should be treated.

We flew back to Orly from Martinique OMG!

We flew back to Orly from Martinique, which is a French island, arriving early morning.
40 minutes queuing at passports at Fort Dr France airport to leave. And then another 40 minutes in Orly for passports AGAIN to get in to mainland France.
Biometric passport readers lined up and out of use! Two human manned passport booths open out of ten.
What a waste of time . In theory it's a flight from France to France, domestic. So these controls are way over the top and unnecessary.
No consideration for travellers. We're just sheep. Aeroports de Paris are a big joke.

Would be 0 if I could

Would be 0 if I could.
Worst airport I’ve visited.

The amenities are great. Lovely variety of food and drink options.

Trying to get through security and border force however…. Ridiculous. Paid for premier… got basic.

Going through security and they will see those that they know and have them go in front of you. Shut the lanes down to 1 on the right hand side and 2 on the other.

Border force just taking their time sweet time even though the flight was finalising boarding and YES.. we got there 3HOURS EARLY. That’s how long it took to get through all of the stages.

Security check or military camp ?

My experience at Paris-Orly was overall ok, except for the security-check. It felt like stepping into an isolated kingdom where your faith depended on those in power. The ladies in charge of directing us to a booth did not have a single care in the world, closed down all booths except one, making the waiting time around 30-40 mins, whereas those that had just arrived had access to multiple opened booths, without any waiting time. No sense of justice or urgency. After the long wait, I arrived to a booth where a man welcomed me by yelling all kinds of instructions. I don't wish to be screamed at if I put my jewelries into the basket instead of my bag (which btw felt like a made-up rule as a pretext to be acting like a dictator). Altogether, the people in charge of the security check at the D gates gave the impression that they were "abusing" of their power, and discharging some frustration towards all travelers. It was truly a military-like experience. I wish the staff didn't take their job as an opportunity to subjugate those that they don't get to in the daily life.

Bad time at Orly airport.

I have liked several travelers. And the reason is the same. And it was when going through security checks. In principle it goes well but when doing the scan because it gave a beep 2 times, which is why I take away all the coins.

Already the person badly told me not to forget for the next time. All these words expressed in harsh language, as if I were carrying something suspicious.
That didn't end there. The black girl took everything she had in my backpack!!! with a defiant attitude, as if I were a bad person. He gave me all my clothes made a mess.
Now I wonder what a personal job at a major airport is? And I want to clarify that my attitude was always collaborative.

I agree that he should do his job. But can you be a little kinder? At the time with that situation, I didn't ask him his name because he was about to catch my flight. Next time I will and I will demand it.

Inadequate

I do not understand the senseless aggression from the security staff (specifically, a person at line 2 yesterday at 5:00 PM). I forgot a small bottle of water in my carry-on bag and wanted to help identify it because I remembered where it was. In return, the attendant yelled rudely. It's time to stop treating passengers badly, and it's also time to stop this absurd 200 ml rule. In some airports, the limit is much higher. We want clarity and kindness at airports. Finally, Gate B is inadequate in terms of shop and food offerings, and people are crowded like animals, there are not enough chairs available, and the electrical outlets do not work.

DO NOT COME!

⭐️ 1 star — and that’s being generous

If you enjoy confusion, frustration, and being treated like an inconvenience rather than a guest, this is your dream destination.

First of all, the self check-in — because apparently paying customers no longer deserve actual human help. You’ll stand there like a lost soul, typing on a screen that refuses to recognize your booking, while two members of staff hover around just to make sure you’re having the worst possible time. They don’t help — they just supervise your suffering like it’s part of their job description.

The “opening times” make zero sense. It’s like they were decided by someone who hates people and really wanted to prove it. Need something at a reasonable hour? Too bad. Want to talk to someone? Closed. Need to check in early? Nope. Late? Double nope.

And those two staff members — wow. If there was an award for most unhelpful humans on Earth, they’d both win it in a tie. They somehow manage to look annoyed even when they’re doing absolutely nothing. You could set yourself on fire in front of them and they’d probably just roll their eyes and say, “Did you do the online check-in first?”

Honestly, this place feels like it was designed by AI that read one bad Tripadvisor review and decided to go all in. Save yourself the headache. There are a million better places to stay — literally anywhere else would be an upgrade.

Final verdict: 1 star for existing. Everything else? A hard pass

SHOCKINGLY POOR

TRULY INEFFICIENT AND UNPLEASANT. Lines are long, security takes forever, security has old machines and they manually checked every bag, passport security took ages with only 1/5th desks manned. The food offering is extremely limited and poor…with the bistro kitchen closed and only serving drinks…AT AN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. Though the new metro line makes it easier to reach, returning to UK airports are a reminder of the greater efficiency, speed and overall offering available. Almost third world.

Worst airport

Terrible experience! Hours of wait even for EU passport! 2 out of 8 international passport check booths open when few hundred people are queued behind the lines, not counting queues at passport control itself! Shuttle bus was overcrowded and not safe!

I have never had a good experience at Orly. If it’s busy it’s an absolute shitshow organisationally (but of course that’s your fault!) - and even if it’s quiet the security will take FOREVER and actively try to piss everyone off. Disaster ever time. La honte.

It was my worst experience in an airport

It was my worst experience in an airport, 4th February 2025 between 2PM and 5PM. First episode started with the area of scanning or bags, where we have to pull or stuff manually to the security scanners who does not help at all. Not even helped to pull the bags of a pregnant lady who was with a kid.
Second episode when I was at Orly 3 near the boarding gates, I seated and it was a lost hat in the top of a table. Suddenly the cleaning employee appeared and asked me if the hat was mine I said no and she automatically put in the trash bin instead of keep it the way it was or bring it with her and going to Lost items area with it.
The third episode was the worst...my wife went to the EXTIME DUTY FREE PARIS store and saw labelled a Kinder toy with kinder surprise choco inside of it for aorund 10€. She decided to bought, but when the bill come out (the store did have any screen to check each item price) it was to expensive the overall price of the 3 items she bought. So she asked gently what was the price of the 3 items, and one of them the Kinder Toy was 25€ instead of 10€. She asked the refund of 15€, because the price should be the one labelled at the store so the store employee went directly to the area where the item was stored and changed the price (after this moment the employee and the manager argue that the price was there and my wife should learn how to read first, so unpolite this men). The employee kept saying it was 25€, so she asked him she wanted to talked with the manager to check and confirm with video cameras what happened, but the employee refuses. She had to fake a robbery to appear the security guy who said he did not have anything to do regarding that episode. After 30min appear a manager who did not have the good manners to come near us to talk about what happened. We went to the store again talked with him, we kept saying the same of the employee that the price was there but it was not and more people at the moment could confirm that also the video cameras could confirm. We saw more things with double prices inside this store, which seems to be a modus operandi to scam tourists. We are still waiting for some one responsible for these stores to talk with us and refund the difference between what we paid and the real labelled price. I never saw faced airport staff so unnecessarily rude and unethical.

A decent airport experience

Just arrived back in the UK having flown from this airport this morning. Have to say well impressed with this airport. Easy to navigate, spacious, comfortable seating. Also pleasant calm staff calmly directing you. Even the cafe served decent coffee in proper mugs not those depressing plasticky ones. Thank you to all the Orly staff and management for making the return journey back to the UK as pleasant as possible. Will definitely use this airport again especially when metro line 14 is finished.

The most dismal and alarming experience

Orly to Bristol UK. The most dismal, stressful disorganised airport I have ever visited. Staff were rude and surly, organisation was chaotic and the layout of the airport is bewildering. Check-in was at one terminal, whilst departure was from a second, so all documentation was ambiguous. Check in took an absolute eternity with 80% of the desks closed. But upon reaching that terminal we were then transferred by bus back to the original terminal for departure! We were literally CRUSHED onto a bus like so many cattle (except that cattle would have had better conditions) and bussed to the plane. We then sat on the tarmac for an eternity, suffocating in an oxygen starved vehicle which became alarmingly bad. We couldn’t BREATHE! People eventually started banging on the windows in an attempt to get the driver’s attention. He of course was sat comfortably in a screened air conditions cab. Elderly people were gasping for air and Children were crying in distress. Eventually the brain dead driver threw a switch and we were flooded with cool fresh air con, just moments before he opened the door to disgorge passengers. People were furious and in genuine distress. Absolutely appalling. We will NEVER travel via this terrible airport again.

Nice airport with a lot of stores

Nice airport with a lot of stores to do a Christmas Shopping🎄 🛍 If you are a nice gourmet or chef, you can also buy quality foie gras, cheeses, macarons, Parisian honey, chocolate, wine and champagne. I just did my duty free shopping to bring presents to my workmates, family and friends. Ready to come back to the United Kingdom 🇬🇧
