Absolutely amazing and friendly service we received today, we booked an appointment for prom dress try ons. We were delighted with the service and professionalism and came home with most lovely dress. The ladies were so polite and friendly, special Thankyou to Evie for all her help and knowledge.
My daughter got married in November, it was a very stressful time in planning. If something could go wrong it went wrong. She had a lot of problems with the venue not knowing if the wedding would be going ahead or not and many problems kept coming over the last 6 months. She went to ash gosh gowns as she got her prom dress from Wendy too. The service she received from Wendy and all her lovely staff was amazing. The process was stress free and made very easy, everyone was very friendly and understanding to all the problems she was experiencing trying to plan her big day and they made a great effort to assist her in every way they could. I would highly recommend wendy and her staff. Thank you
My daughter went to choose her prom dress from the ladies at oshgosh. She was treated to a 5 star experience from the choice of dresses to the accessories such as bags, shoes and jewellery to accentuate her outfit.
The ladies were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful even guiding us to services for alterations if needed.
My daughter left faith the dress of her dreams and had the best time at her prom. We can't thank you enough ladies!!!!
Have recently purchased a prom dress from oshgoshgowns compared to some of the gowns my daughters was at the lower end of the price range due to budget. I have nothing but praise for our experience with this company we have been back now twice now for fittings and alterations, they have gone the extra mile working late to fit in clients having massive backlogs due to covid. Great company great service would highly recommend.
We spent over £300 at this shop on bridesmaid dresses. When the dresses came into store we tried to make an appointment for a Saturday for a fitting only to be told that Saturday appointments were for Proms only. And that we would have to take a day off work to attend a 30 minute appointment. They knew our original appointment was on a Saturday but refused to book any appointment for a Saturday and insisted it had to be a weekday. We booked an appointment for 1 of the bridesmaids to attend, only for them to try to rearrange the appointment just the day prior! Once they have your money their customer service goes straight out of the window. Spend your hard earned cash elsewhere there are plenty of good wedding shops out there.

We wouldn’t usually rise to comments like this but having looked at the details for this customer (I should point out that Kerry isn’t actually the customer on this occasion – the brides name is Danielle) we felt that we needed to respond. Grab a coffee the facts are included below…
Firstly, we should highlight that we are in a post pandemic situation and as a reputable business we are currently working through three years of fabulous weddings condensed into one year, plus we are happy to say, a busy prom season on top of this which is great.
Since we reopened post lockdown a year ago we have delivered approx. 150 weddings, with the same volume to get through for the remainder of this year as well as circa 350 prom customers.
To say the least, we are extremely busy and loving every minute we spend with our valued customers - people we welcome as part of the Osh Gosh family.
This review has taught us that you can’t please all the people all the time.
To report the facts…the bridesmaids dresses referred to in this review arrived into the boutique on 10.3.22 and our customer (Danielle) was called to advise of this – no answer so we left a voicemail. We called again on 11.3.22 and left another voicemail. Danielle kindly returned our call but was unable to come any earlier than 16.4.22 to try the dresses on. We then suggested moving straight to the alterations stage to save the journey from Doncaster on too many occasions (considerate we thought?) We called again on 12.3.22 to explain that the seamstresses were getting extremely busy and recommended booking in as soon as possible.
On 12.3.22 Danielle called to book in one bridesmaid for her alterations, but Kerry (who wrote this post) was getting her dress altered elsewhere (always absolutely ok with us). We arranged for her dress to be collected at the same time as Zoe was having her alterations carried out with us. We should also add at this point that our terms and conditions clearly state that we do not carry out alterations on Saturdays.
We want customers alterations to be carried out in a quiet environment not on busy Saturdays when we have brides, mothers of brides and grooms, bridesmaids and prom customers in the boutique. Customers (brides especially) need to walk in their dresses to check the length, which is impossible in a full, busy boutique without risking damage to such a precious item.
We are not aware of any other bridal boutiques that offer an alterations service on a Saturday. They may exist but we don’t know of any. To offer our customers some flexibility we have offered late night appointments and bank holidays purely to support the sheer volume of dresses we are having to alter this year. We are all in an unprecedented situation.
With reference to us cancelling the day before…the appointment for Zoe was cancelled by Danielle long before her appointment (booked for 25.4.22) as she had decided that she would have both dresses altered at the same place (closer to home in Doncaster). Both dresses were collected on 9.4.22 – clearly a choice made by the customer. One week later and without any contact with us whatsoever we receive a slanderous message from Kerry (such a shame we can’t post your lovely message Kerry). We are a very approachable business so just a call would have sufficed rather than a damaging review containing very little truth.
We will leave it to you as the reader to decide just how poor our customer service is…perhaps the huge volume of 5* reviews on our Google profile speaks volumes 😊
