If I could sum up Brian & Katie @ Ourplaceyourstory it would be… outstanding⭐️ but you probably want more details than that so let’s dive right in…

We booked Brian to photograph our Glencoe elopement and from the very first initial contact, I instantly felt comfortable and familiar with Brian and Katie! We had our first video call to go over the details of the day including some ideas/ suggestions and overall getting a feel for what it would be like on the day. I came off that call absolutely buzzing! I trusted them instantly as they live in Glencoe themselves and knew exactly what they were talking about.

After that first video call we kept in contact over the next few months via email. This is where Katie comes in (the brains behind it all and your go to gal for absolutely everything on the lead up to your shoot)! Nothing was too much hassle and no question felt silly.

We then arranged a final video call a couple of weeks before the big day. This was mostly to double check everything we did and didn’t want on the day and to see if we wanted to add anything in or change anything. We both went in to our wedding day blind in a sense because we left the location purely up to Brian, Katie and our celebrant. I can’t tell you the amount of stress this took off me and you can tell by the pictures, they absolutely smashed it!

During the big day Brian was snapping away continuously for the full 2 hours we had booked - resulting in over 300 photos from our wedding day! One very simple thing that meant so much to me was that during the day while Brian was taking our pictures, Katie was also taking some videos for us (because we didn’t have a videographer, this meant the world to us). We received 5 pictures the same day we got married along with the videos that Katie had taken them received the rest a few weeks later. I can’t thank Brian and Katie for everything they done for us! They truly made my dream wedding come true by capturing how I’m love me and my husband are 🥹

I booked a surprise engagement photoshoot with Brian a few months ago to take place at the end of March. Unfortunately, my plans changed many times leading up to the proposal and Brian was fantastic in being able to accommodate for that right up to the last minute.

He even spent a good 30 minutes in a bush waiting for me and my partner to arrive so that he was in the best possible spot to capture the moment (fiancée wanted to stop at every location!). It was a cold day to say the least!

A very easy guy to work with and is just as excited to plan the big day as you are, which is really nice! Would definitely hire again! Thanks very much Brian.

From the beginning, Brian was easy to work with. He was quick to respond and flexible with our schedule. He knew the beautiful spots for our shoot and happily gave us recommendations for hikes and cafes for the rest of our holiday. We don't love having photos taken of us, but it was important to me to capture our special milestone. We felt immediately comfortable upon meeting Brian and the shoot flew by quickly. We didn't have to think about poses, he just knew what to tell us. We love the initial photos we've seen, and look forward to the rest!

Brian done an amazing job capturing myself and my toddler’s first visit to Glencoe. He helped make our visit extra special and went above & beyond from the minute I reached out. He is very talented at what he does and so patient with Teddi, even when she wasn’t playing ball! The pictures I’ve seen so far are stunning and I can’t recommend him and his wife’s business more. I'm a professional athlete and have been photographed by Brian both in races as well as during my personal trip to Scotland. I always felt comfortable in front of his camera and he created photos that capture both the setting as well as the emotion of the moment. Would recommend him for any occasion!

We were in the highlands for the first time and wanted to capture some moments with the family which included our 11 month old little one. Brian was great at making us feel comfortable in the cold and was warm and friendly. He was able to direct well which made the photos turn out well. The overall experience is highly recommended!

Brian made our first photo shoot together super fun and relaxing. We love how the photos turned out and it was one of our favorite experiences on our 2 week Europe trip. He chose the location and times based on the best weather/lighting/crowd conditions so all we had to do was show up. He also gave us a breakfast recommendation that was so good, we ate there twice. I did a photoshoot with Brian with my baby and my dog as I didn’t really have any nice photos of us together. I usually don’t like having my picture taken at all, so this was a massive step out of my comfort zone! Brian was so relaxed, he made me feel relaxed. He gave me some helpful pointers and direction and then showed me the photos - I looked like I looked like in the mirror! I couldn’t believe it! The whole session passed very quickly and I was so pleased when the pictures arrived later that week. Brian has given me something truly invaluable, pictures of me that I actually LIKED! I booked portrait shoot with Brian as a birthday gift from me to me. We picked Glen Nevis Valley for the location and it was a perfect spot as this place has sentimental value to me. Being comfortable in front of the camera is not something I find easy, but Brian was able to make me feel relaxed and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It took quite a while to get the final edits but they were so worth the wait…. I am simply trilled with them and I’ll cherish them forever. If you’re looking for authentic, soulful and meaningful portraits in nature then Brian is the right photographer for you.

He took us around some nice spots in Glencoe on a ridiculously sunny day.

He was very flexible about times on the day. The photoshoot itself was really fun and Brian put us at ease, despite the fact we were both feeling a bit awkward and anxious. Brian is an incredible photographer and took some really amazing photos with the stunning backdrop of Glencoe.

What I liked most about Brian was his enthusiasm and proactivity. I had a very obscure request, I wanted to propose to my then partner in Glencoe. This place was special to us, I first visited my partner here in 2020, so when I relocated to Scotland in 2022, I knew this had to be the setting for the big question. I wanted to propose in an obscure hidden away location in Glen Etive, and Brian was all for it, and I wanted to make it a surprise engagement.

Brian was incredibly patient with me, and was a great sounding board. We spoke over email and over the phone to come up with a great plan. He even met with me in person the morning of to finalise all our details and leave no stone unturned. When we ran into a couple externally driven hiccups, Brian was quick on his feet and improvised appropriately.

During the surprise, Brian snapped impressive candid photos of us in the moment. After the proposal, he rendezvoused with us to take photos of us up-close. Brian is clear and direct with what he needed from us for the photos. We were overjoyed with his local knowledge, he knew exactly where to take us to capture our very special moment. So often we get caught up in the moment that we cannot reflect back on it- but thanks to Brian, we have that reflection. Brian helped me through my nerves and gave me the confidence I needed. We were so excited by the sneak peak he gave us later that night, and we were incredibly pleased when the photos were sent to us. They were beautiful, and we felt like we were there all over again.
