Disgraceful warranty handling
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with outdoorclothing.co.uk.
I returned a pair of expensive Merrell boots under warranty due to an obvious structural failure in the uppers. The fault was clearly visible in both photos and in person. Despite this, my claim was delayed for weeks and then refused outright because the boots were returned with dirt on them.
These boots were used strictly for their intended outdoor purpose. The dirt did not obscure or cause the damage, and cleaning them would not have changed the clearly visible fault. Refusing to even assess a warranty claim over surface dirt is unreasonable and feels like an attempt to avoid responsibility.
After a lengthy delay, the boots will be returned to me without inspection, wasting weeks of time and leaving me with faulty footwear and no resolution. This is not the level of service I would expect when purchasing premium outdoor footwear.
I will not be using outdoorclothing.co.uk again and would strongly caution others to think twice before relying on them for warranty support.

To clarify, all warranty returns must be received in a clean and dry condition before they can be processed. This requirement is in place for hygiene and safety reasons, and is a standard practice across both retailers and manufacturers. While we fully understand that outdoor footwear will naturally be exposed to dirt and mud, items returned for inspection must be cleaned within reason so that they can be safely handled and properly assessed.
In this case, the boots arrived wet and heavily soiled, which meant neither we nor the brand were able to proceed with the inspection. We did request that the boots be cleaned prior to return, and unfortunately without this step the warranty process could not move forward.
We regret the delay and inconvenience this has caused, and we encourage you to re-send the boots in a clean condition so that the fault can be assessed promptly. Our goal is always to resolve warranty claims fairly and efficiently, and we hope to assist you further once the boots are suitable for inspection.

Immediate cancellation not refunded.
Site completed with the wrong address, contacted them immediately no response, item shipped while the office was closed? Rang and they said I could change the address, I could not. I had already canceled the order immediately after the confirmation was received. I have been gaslighted by them from first contact. Item was delivered to the wrong address regardless of my complaints and cancellation to RM and Outdoor Clothing. They agreed to get RM to recover and refund, and despite this have just sent me a mail asking if I had recovered it. They are either incompetent or intentionally evading. I have no coat, and no money; I am currently in Japan with no £120 to buy my wife the coat she needs for the -5 temperatures. Do not buy from this company.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience this caused and appreciate the chance to clarify what happened. The address used at checkout was the one stored in your Google Pay settings, which still showed your previous home. Because of this, the parcel was sent to that address before any changes could be made.
When you asked for the parcel to be redirected to a Post Office, we passed that request to Royal Mail straight away. Unfortunately, they were unable to complete the diversion, and the parcel continued to the original address.
As soon as it became clear the diversion hadn’t been actioned, we requested the item’s return so we could resolve the situation for you. Your refund has since been issued in full.
We understand how frustrating this was, especially given your circumstances, and we’re sorry for the trouble it caused.
