Works well but is linked with AI and data spying

I switched over a decade ago to use outlook as my main email when google changed a lot of their interface to be less user friendly. Hotmail was my first email account ever in the 1990's.

They have a simple to use interface, and security protocols and procedures that can keep your account secure. I highly recommend making two accounts, linking them, and using the one that is not you main login as the one you give to everyone. The ability to make additional emails using the plus subaddressing "+" feature is great for organizing you inbox as well.

Unfortunately, like many other big service companies today, microsoft/outlook is digging into your personal data by default and giving that access to their AI. If you don't want AI data-mining your personal correspondence (creating vulnerabilities while at it) consider a different service.

Worst customer service I’ve ever came across

I’ve been trying for 2 months to help my mom get into her msn.com email account after it was locked. Her account was setup in 1995 before cell phones (for the verification code). We filled out their questionnaire 10 times using my email address with no confirmation in anyway back. I have called multiple times to speak with an overseas rep that have all been ZERO help. We cannot cancel her email address or her annual premium fee they charge because we are only directed that we can do through her email, which we cannot access. I have tried in every polite and impolite way to try to get help with ZERO resolution. It’s beyond unprofessional and frustrating. This has been the worst experience of customer service she or myself has ever had.

Catastrophic

Today all of a sudden the web application free version is unable to sync with my gmail adress. After trying everything ie restart, uninstall/reinstall, reset and repair, pc restart... i contacted the support who took the hand on my pc through their tool. The person behind did nothing but what I already did, not understanding my language they even started installing the app appearing in the ad (yes you know the email ad on top of the other on the free version yes yes). In the end they told me to buy the premium version for the app to work properly. Are you serious right now? How could i buy an app that is not even working correctly on its free version?

This is so unprofessional. Uninstalled right away and started using another app unfortunately...

I couldn’t not go below one star for the review. The application on mobile is an unmitigated disaster. Pure chaos. Unusuable by a professional. Emails are getting commingled in a context were confidentiality is requirement. Absolute disaster. Result of having a monopoly.

Repeated sign-ins and still no access

Can I pick zero. Because how can you give it any stars if you cannot access it. Hotmail used to be reliable. I kept it for years, because it was a great back-up, especially for new contacts, because it didn't disappear emails it didn't recognize, like gmail does. But now I've forwarded everything to my gmail accounts, despite having issues with them too, because, like I said- if you don't have any access, and you can't get it despite signing in repeatedly, then anything else with access is better.

Microsoft Outlook and Hotmail are so frustrating - resolution please!!!I am so depressed and frustrated

I am so depressed and frustrated. I have a perfectly fine hotmail account usually and suddenly again today I cannot access my emails, or recover that account at all. This has completely disrupted my day. I have spent literally hours of wasted time trying different devices and it just keeps telling me to try another device or saying i can't get access. I have tried resetting my password or creating a passkey? BOTH took ages and haven't resolved the problem. My life is on there - tickets, correspondence, health info etc... please can someone help asap. what is going on??? This is the first stage of Complaint process.

Outlook is becoming impossible to use

Outlook is becoming impossible to use, sad seems though I have had my email account 20+ years. App constantly crashes, then causes my phone to crash meaning I have to reboot several times a day if I need to check on important emails. Also the amount of spam emails that come through as focused emails and the amount of important emails that get fed into the spam box is ridiculous.

Asking for face recognition ❌

Now asking me to sign in with face recognition, and other personal info - a disgusting invasion of privacy. Yet another company thinking they have a right to private and personal info when they don’t.

You are just an email service, nothing more. 20 years with them but now will be moving to another email service.

Frustrated

They locked me out of my account and then made it impossible to get back in. I have information on there that I really needed. No one to speak with, all bots.

REFUSE to block 50-100 spam per day, even after painstakingly clicking on report and block. Called customer services many times, "we're working on it" they've told me for the last three years.

Just moved from (payed) outlook to EM Client. So I will now pay for a similar client but this time without stupid tips and messages, a search that just returns what I type (and not something 'relevant'), columns that i can choose and NO STUPID COPILOT THAT IS WRONG HALF OF THE TIME.
Also changed to libre office so that files actually )that are stored locally) are actually used from local drive instead of 'the cloud'
I really wonder what their main goal (something 'completely cloud' and that is completely the opposite from what I want. The cloud is a backup. Period.

Constant buffering

It’s really difficult to log in to emails on my mobile, so sick off it buffering and saying “you can’t log in right now try again later” this happens several times a day! This has been going on for weeks.

Microsoft is now actively scamming it's users.

Microsoft is now actively spamming users of Outlook with actual scam mail. The latest scam is for "BlumeHeat", a well documented scam product that not only doesn't work, but also makes claims that very obviously would break the laws of thermodynamics. Microsoft are aware of this, the spam mail has been reported as a scam, yet Microsoft's attitude to their customers is "F you!" so they continue to target their users with dangerous scam mail.
