Friendly, efficient & super helpful!

We ordered our sons 24v Landrover Defender from this company. Despite the majority of staff taken ill with Covid, they were really informative of the shipping process and happy to answer any queries I had regarding this. The product was also delivered within a couple of days of ordering so I can’t fault the service whatsoever!

Avoid at all costs!
I ordered my son a car for his birthday. I ordered it in June for his birthday in September due to covid, lorry drivers shortage and to just be prepared! We set the car up and if using the pedal the car would not go forward! So I sent them an email stating this with videos and pictures and they said the wire had slipped from the switch. (The wire was very much on the switch) so they sent out a replacement switch so when taking the switch off a red wire just falls out the cars dashboard not even attached to anything from the car and dangling from the switch. The car will now not work unless controlled by the remote! I emailed again to be told ‘however this wire was pulled out by yourself when you replaced the switch. ‘ and ‘ You can return the car back to us for repair, however this would be chargeable.’
The wire was not pulled out by us at all! It fell out when swapping the switch over. And to return the car back for so called repairs would cost a lot for postage and then charging to repair their fault too?!

Disgusting customer service and now left with money down and a not up to standard car and it’s been used once! Just want your money and that is it !

I bought a Hawkmoto Go Cart from outsideplay.co.uk

I bought a Hawkmoto Go Cart from outsideplay.co.uk and the first time I used the battery charger it appears to be faulty, it does not show when the battery is fully charged it only shows the Red charging light, on contacting them they need the faulty item returned at me cost and then need up to 9 days to inspect it. Their phone message states that there is only 1 person working at present so is he the technical inspector AS WELL. Very poor customer service. DO NOT USE THIS company.

I never write reviews....yet here I am, compelled by disbelief and my decision to write one, reinforced by the continuity of shockingly bad customer service.

I spent nearly £1k on a pool.

The day before delivery, I noticed they had put the payment address down as delivery address, despite Paypal confirming the actual delivery address.

I thought - I'll let them know, just to ensure no hiccups.

The response I got was - we have cancelled your order and refunded you because we can't ship to a property that is not yours.

So we have gone from a helpful message from me the customer, to a cancellation from the Company, completely unnecessarily, as the delivery address was Paypal verified, to an absolutely fuming customer who has been waiting a week for the delivery to have to start the whole endeavour from scratch again.

Summertimes are short lived in England and this will be valuable lost time to us (purchasing an outdoor pool) and a needless loss of a sale to the Company.

The staff writing the email/s are discourteous and rude, and despite me telling them how they had made a mistake and giving them an opportunity to put it right - told me to Jog On.

Serious training needed in your Company.

I cannot imagine the amount of money tha has been poured down the drain from very bad decisions.

Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy uses them.

It’s a family run Business give them a break

I ordered a pool on the 11/6 was expected in stock on 30/6 due to they way things are today and shipments not hitting the docks on time my pool came yesterday,20/7 I was updated by email (junk mail box) of this delay this is not the company at fault it’s one of them things it is was it is,I did start to panic after a read some reviews,so I’m writing this review just to let you know your pool will arrive just takes patience,I’m so glad I didn’t listen to everyone and cancel my order my kids have been splashing around all day well worth the wait thank you outside play

Great service

We ordered our pool on a pre order expected delivery date 30th of June to 7th of July. They have been brilliant informed me straight away that there were delays something completely out of there control. They keep us updated and the pool arrived yesterday. They sent me tracking information had a lovely man phone to tell me he was nearly with me. Having a delivery slot of 11 am to 1pm. Received the phone call at 11am 10 mins out. I would recommend using them as yes the delivery was delayed but I knew exactly what was going on no need to phone and ask. They must be extremely busy this time of year but felt like a valued customer now get to set the pool up

False advertising

Ordered a pool which was more expensive than anywhere else I had seen it but assumed it was due to the fact it came with a sand filter not a cartridge one. Noticed in pic that it was cartridge filter so queried it and they just said 'oh yeah it's wrong'. Order cancelled and I have ordered elsewhere. They still havent changed the listing!

Bestway Pool purchase

Pre Ordered a pool from Outside Play. There was a delay in delivery that was entirely outwith their control and they kept me fully informed at every step. Fantastic customer service, very prompt reply to my emails. Would absolutely recommend.

Avoid this company at all costs

Bought a ride on Police car from another company HAwkmoto Ltd - these appear to be linked but these guys are responding for some reason. Battery extremely poor, smoke coming from rear of car. Returned item. Item damaged by courier, they seem to be more interested in accusing me for damage than following this up. They said I now have to pay them over £100 to get the item back and they wont do **** all about the faults and are not overly concerned. They are now holding my 2 year olds car to ransom to return it faulty. They are breaching their own terms and conditions and trying all sorts to get out of their legal responsbilities as a retailer. Now taking them to court to get my money back as they are not responding. Don't seem to put the ltd no on their website. Avoid this company and go to somewhere like Smythes.

Saved us so much money!

We ordered a large rectangle pool a few months ago which was almost half the price of what it was everywhere else. When talking to a very friendly lady who worked there she explained it was so cheap as they order it from the previous years stock..or something along those lines. My order was due to come in end of May, when speaking to them they explained that is when the shipment comes into the shop and then gets sent out to the address so expect it 1st or second week of June. It ended up coming the end of June but this was through no fault of the company themselves and they also kept us updated on the situation. It was all down to what was happening with the cargo ships in the shipping lanes which had been broadcast all over the news. Something that was completely out of everyone's hands. I had ordered it ready for my daughters birthday which was the 29th June, thinking due date of the end of May would give us plenty of time. Unfortunately if got there a few days before and we didn't have time to get everything set up and ready. But thats ok, because we can arrange something for another day. At the end of the day we now have an amazing pool for almost half the price that we would have had to of paid elsewhere, everywhere else has been sold out for months and its impossible to get hold of,and we had brilliant customer service. Have already recommended to a friend who is going to look today about purchasing one.

No care after purchasing

Once purchased they do not give a damn. The only way to contact they is trough the email and there will be no response whatsoever. So if you receive something faulty you can forget they would be rectify it.

Slow. They do not manage expectations well

They do not manage expectations well. Ordered a pool, website said it would be dispatched day after ordering. Two weeks later, they provided an update to say the pool is still in a container and still unable to provide an estimated delivery date. They should not list items as available if they literally are not available.

I was a bit worried trying to buy a…

I was a bit worried trying to buy a pool from the internet. Lots of other sites have reviews mentioning the product never arrived and nightmares getting money back. In fact finding anyone with one in stock has been immensely challenging. However this site - seems to also be known as Hawkmoto Ltd - had some in stock. Product has arrived in less time than they quoted. Excellent regular updates from the delivery company. A very good experience.

Excellent service and very friendly staff

I had originally ordered this pool from a 3rd party seller on Amazon (called Opalaa) who were charging about £45 above market price for this pool plus a £12.50 delivery fee and they ended up sending me the wrong size. I needed this pool to come quickly as I am hosting full immersion baptisms this Saturday. I ordered this item yesterday morning from Outsideplay and called this company to explain my situation. The lady I spoke to, Halina, was so kind and helpful, she actually went into the warehouse to check that they had the correct size in stock and then made sure it was picked up by DHL that day and I have just received it today (next day delivery) for a great price, only £39.95 including delivery. Thank you so much!! Because of all of your effort we can now hold our baptisms as scheduled. I highly recommend this company, excellent customer service and highly efficient.

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service, especially from Helena. Due to the Suez fiasco, the delivery of my swimming pool was delayed. I never once had to call the company to find out where my product was, she contacted me as soon as they knew they had a delay, and called me several more times with updates, until I received it. They answer the phone within a minute and it is actually a person, not a series of pressing numbers to get no where. First rate experience, have already recommended them to several friends and family.

Absolutely shocking customer service

Absolutely shocking customer service. We returned a pool 2 months ago and had to spend the last 2 months trying to get our refund. They kept saying they never received it, despite photographic evidence from our delivery service. Numerous phone calls and constant refusals of refund, I informed her I would have to file a case with PayPal. She told me to "crack on". It was only refunded because of our receipts, photo evidence and PayPal amazing investigation into their questionable dealings. The lady in the office was one of the most unprofessional, rude people I have ever dealt with. It was a terrible experience. I am genuinely perplexed at the previous review but maybe they have employed someone new in the office. However, please i would advise you to use other companies that sell the same products and are much more legitamite, professional and honest.

In reply to your reply below. Your response epitomises your reactionary response to my truthful review. You have deliberately incorporated copy and pasted falsehoods and complete lies. Your supposed to learn from reviews not further harass and antagonise someone. Shame on you.

We did write to you on 29th April at 16:00 explaining that we don’t have the pool, nor do we have an Emily working here that could have signed for it, along with images of our property and asked for you to contact DPD to investigate this. See email below….

Thank you for sending over the details of return.
However please see attached images I have just taken of our entrance.
As you can see the entrances are different, therefore the delivery has not been made to us. We also do not have anyone working here of the name Emily that has signed for it.
You will need to contact DPD so they can speak to the driver as to what address he has delivered it.

As clearly stated in my email the item has been returned and you are lying about not receiving it. Let's be very clear about this we no longer have the item because the name you provided " Emily" accepted the delivery. You claim there is no such person working in your company but my husband spoke to someone who said to return the item to an Emily!!!

However, we not surprised to read your review, as you would not look into this as requested and rang us very angry saying that you would find every review site to publish about us- Which you have done.
We are sorry if you felt that we were rude, however our Management team have listened back to the telephone recording and we will not accept customers shouting and screaming down the phone at us and calling us ‘liars’ for something that was not in our control.
As per our terms and conditions, we only refund on return of an item back to us. The item is the responsibility of the sender until the item has arrived back with us safely.
