It does not seem to deposit color in my hair

Colors are vibrant and makes my hair feel like it just had a mask!

I miss the old Ginger formula. My hair was always beautiful & vibrant. The new Ginger Glow is a nice natural red, but more dull, less vibrant & happy.

oVertone Color customer service quickly responded to my email and corrected my issue very promptly. They were understanding and responsive and I really appreciated it.

I've been using Overtone for about two years. Everywhere I go, people compliment me on the purple in my hair. I have naturally black hair with quite a bit of gray. In order to cover these difficult shades, I keep Overtone on longer than the directions recommend (I find an hour works best for me), and I also do it weekly instead of biweekly. The gray streaks show up as a lighter shade of purple, and they fade gently instead of growing out harshly like they did when I was dyeing my hair. Since I switched from dye to Overtone, my hair has been softer and healthier, which is interesting because everything I've read about hair over age 50 is that it grows thin and brittle. I'm going to be 54 soon, and my hair's the healthiest it's been in many years. I recommend Overtone to anyone who will listen!

My husband complains about the smell. I am not offended by it but he says it gives him a headache. The texture effect on my hair…great. The color “morphs”… puts on and dries and next day/days …I float with that.

Did make my hair feel great and look great, but it doesn’t seem to be lasting long. It’s only a week and it already isn’t looking the same.

I love there products make your hair so soft and the colo is amazing tried ye plum and silver would definitely recommend

It works as a dye and your hair will be a different color after applying but thats about the only positive here.
Everything went fine with ordering and shipping.
Opening the jar itself was awful, couldnt get the foil cover off and had to puncture it with scissors and even that was a mess as the inside was covered in dye that got all over my hands- even after resting upright for 2 days prior.
Application was fine, same as any other semi permanent dye I've used. Dye had a nice sweet minty smell which was great at the time.
Washing the dye out was fine as well, but this is when the mint became a problem as it clashed horribly with the smell of my lightly floral shampoo. And the smell would not go away even the next day- not necessarily a flaw, but be wary that the smell is strong and lingers.
When washed (in cold water) and dried, the color did not turn out as expected based on the examples on the website. My hair started out blonde (level 9) and a light coppery orange (level 7) color with medium brown roots (level 6) and i ended up with a dark brown that had a slightly green cast that got significantly worse towards the ends of my hair.
I am now just over a week out from having dyed my hair and I'm still experiencing issues. The color has improved, the blonde sections now match the parts that arent green toned, and the original smell is gone, but every time my hair gets wet it smells like wet dog and it seems almost like my hair is repeling shampoo and water- i have to wash it three times to get a decent lather instead of my normal rinse and repeat . The texture is also awful! I have done sooo much damage to my hair trying to take out hair ties that just become hopelessly stuck in my now rough, dry hair. I wear my hair up every day and have not had this issue until now. One of my co workers even noted on how damaged my hair looks.
Overall, I'm just floored at how bad this semi permanent dye is. I've been cutting and coloring my own hair for nearly 20 years and I think this is the worst experience I've ever had with hair color- it even surpasses the Pulp Riot formula change that left my head splotchy because at least that was fixable! I dont think even Splat made my hair actually feel compromised like this.

Ordered the product 13 days ago with expedited shipping (2-5 business days). Paid extra! When the product hadn’t shipped by the fourth business day. I started trying to reach out to you all. I did not get a resolution until last Wednesday, eight days since I’d ordered the product. Now, we are on the fourth business day since last Wednesday, and the product still has not shipped. It was for an urgent matter and I am at risk of losing my job.

I have LOVED overtone for so long and have used it religiously for years with little to no issues. I have used colors across the board. However, this is the second shade of purple I have got from them that turned out BLUE. The first was smoky lavender which went over my WHITE hair (four rounds of bleach) and came out a very pastel aqua. Not the intended color but I didn’t hate it. As that faded I decided to try a more direct purple-vivid violet. Again, it is BLUE. And this time it was incredibly dark, cobalt blue. All of the red pigment went straight down the drain. It looks great and my hair feels great but if advertised as purple I would hope for the result to be at least somewhat purple.

Suffused With Color

Really vivid color, even on quite dark hair. It went on easily and rinsed through easily, leaving behind color with with real depth and shine. I've played with quite a few deposit - only dyes, and this one definitely is a cut above. I look forward to testing its longevity and seeing how the tinted conditioner works.

Fast delivery, healthy hair, but, of course, the best part is, I LOVE the color!

Shipping was terrible, I got the run around lying about USPS when it was the warehouse not sending it out.

Haven’t yet received new Fall color , but it will be great I am sure
