OVH Cloud is a great hosting provider for affordable yet high spec hosting.
Their only downside is their support is usually slow & provides copy/paste responses, taking many interactions to resolve issues.

I have been an OVH customer since January 2021, spending more than $300 every month on cloud services. This month, OVH suddenly closed my account, citing a Spamhaus complaint that had nothing to do with me. Despite my attempts to clarify the situation, their support team provided no real explanation or resolution and their abuse team doesn't answer.
They chose to shut down my account without warning or investigation. No due process, no appeal, just an abrupt termination—effectively locking me out of services I paid for.
If you're running critical infrastructure, think twice before trusting OVH. They can terminate your account without proper evidence or a fair chance to defend yourself. Their handling of this situation has been unprofessional, and their customer service is non-existent.
Avoid OVH unless you’re willing to risk losing your services without justification.

Extremely difficult to cancel. I keep getting billed and support is not very helpful. We are not using them for several months but can't get to cancel the billing.

These charged me upon sign up without my knowledge or consent. 16 days later, I notice it on my bank statement and investigate.
When I contacted support they sent me the link of my "orders" which were empty, when I reported the issue, they asked to refresh and magic, here there were...
Used every excuse in the book to not give the money back despite the fact I very obviously never used a service I did not know they billed me for??
The CS person was rude and did not care for a second to help.
She closed the chat as soon as I questioned and asked for proof of consent on the payments.
Worst CS experience I every had. I will make sure never to touch anything OVH related and so should you!

STAY FAR AWAY - If you don't click the link they give you within 7 days (people are busy) they will want you to self care the server so you can re-install the OS yourself just to gain access to a new password. Technical support is only available via extra payment which i am fine with, however if you can't even access your account the customer service team should be bending over backwards to help you. I find it totally un-reasonable that they would treat new customers that way and I would highly recommend thinking about using them. Not polite, not very freindly and the attitude that they are doing you a favor by providing you the opportunity to give them money. STAY FAR FAR AWAY. Again all because we had an assistant sign up for the service in advance for planning, then the link expired after 7 days. You are on your own now. That isn't normal.

I've tried 4 times to contact OVH abuse to report a site hosting illegal materials. Cloudflare verified that the IP the material is hosted on is with OVH. They have ignored the complains and allowed it to continue for months.

I manage about 35 domain names. For the first time, I had to use OVH because the .mobi for the domain can only be managed from a few registrar. GoDaddy's price was simply ridiculous. So, I followed the instructions on how to transfer a domain to OVH (like I have done a lot with my regular registrar). Because "privacy" was not deactivated with the old registrar, I got an email saying that the operation was cancelled. Fine, I'll correct the situation on my side and restart the process for the transfer. Via Chat, no response, no way to restart the process. Finally got an answer the next day that they weren't not able to restart the process because they already paid the old registar. As per the answer, I had to restart the process and pay for the transfer again. Since the service was not rendered, I asked for the refund but, again, I was told they could not because the service was already paid to the other registrar. With my regular registrar, when something like this happens, I just ask them to restart the process via Chat and, bam, it's done. But OVH, apparently works by other rules than normal companies. Very poor support, information is hard to find on their website and, apparently, they like to charge people for services that they don't deliver !!!
Update 25-01-07 : waiting for your answer. Account cp332005-ovh
Update 25-01-21 : finally got the full refund of the service (domain transfer) that never worked. Not sure if I would have been if I had not written this review. Doesn't change my opinion of what happened. So, still 1 star and still would not recommend them to anybody.

Freshly purchased a simple web hosting plan. 24h after deployment I realize the IP of the server where my one page website was hosted had been blacklisted everywhere. Customer service are simply unable to understand that they should be monitoring server IPs and that they should not deploy server (even shared ones) on these IPs. Not only that, but after going back and forth for 4 days, no one at OVH seemed to want to address the issue. All the agent wanted from me was to jump on a VPS (Virtual Private Server) or a dedicated server. To host a simple HTML form. 1 page. Seriously. The cherry on top was that all web hosting plans force you to buy a free domain (even if you already have one with them...) and after 7 days, I am only offered a partial refund. There dedicated servers may be fine for some folks. But don't trust their cloud offering much less their capabilities at maintaining their IPs. 100% would not recommend. If OVH wants to gain a better reputation, they need to admit their faults, monitor their IPs, and just care even just a little about their customer. And don't tell someone you can't change an IP, or migrate a service/server to a different one. When all you have to do is unrack that stainless steel plate, walk to a different rack and rack it. Then mark the IP as blacklisted, and don't rack any server in that slot until the IP is unlisted.
EDIT: The fact that it is a shared service does not justify the blacklisted IP. OVH on shared services should be using multiple IPs to circumvent the potential blacklisting. Same services multiples IP. That way you can easily change the blacklisted IPs while you are trying to resolve the issues. Therefore, your customers would not be experiencing the issues I have been. Maybe OVH should rethink their shared infrastructure. At the end of the day, on day 1 I experienced the issue. How do you think I can perceive OVH's capacity to provide such services. When OVH won't even take the most obvious approach to this issue. OVH needs to maintain their IPs. Finally in regards to the full refund. The Consumer Protection Act protected my client in this particular case. By not making the skip button obvious (putting it in a odd place and with a much different style then any other buttons in the interface to make sure it is not seen) you are forcing consumers into free offers which even if they are personalized item, remain free. Thus you cannot claim a value on the item. OVH was completely off the Consumer Protection Act and that is why OVH finally decided to refund the total paid. Not because it is an exceptional service. Also, the fact that if I want to move a purchase domain, I have to register it a second time, makes it an unpersonalized item. Since I need to repurchase it all over. You are trying to shift the blame here to protect OVH's interest. Instead of acknowledging OVH's faults and trying to find solutions. That is the core problem with OVH. Accountability.

The worst IT Services provider I have ever seen. And I'm fullstack developer with devops skils for a 10 year. Register a new account for my client, add my own payment card. Order a domain for a 10 years, and there was a promotion for 1 year cheap VPS. About 170-180$ in tottal. They get money from my payment card. Next day both orders was canceled. About 1 hour I had search for an UI to send a ticket to support. next day had a responce, like "your account info required to be the same as your payment info". your money will be come back after ~3-14 days.
...I make services for a clients, all included, just send them a bills about where and how much I had spend money.
oooh. ok. have ask my client, he's agree to add his payment card. 3-d try, 10$ prepay, money send, order cancelled. Payment 10$ with my Paypal-cancelled. Trying to activate "Public Cloud Project" to buy a VPS-cancelled. Support, HELP! send a new ticket. Send my customer ID, my ID, my bank statement, my own email account at OVH(about 4-5 years ago I had use them). Asking them to enable "Public Cloud Project" so I can by a VPS.
...and you know what? I got a responce: "your money came back after ~3-14 days". same as in previos ticket. sick! write a resp, that I know, that my money will came back(and now I'm not sure, because the is a looot about the same trouble all around a world). I know, but, please, activate my "Public Cloud Project", so I try to buy a VPS(it's impossible if the project is in discovery mode as far as I know. And with a those sick UI, I cannot be 100% sure).
and the finished line, a support resp:
"
Regarding the error 906.
Unfortunately, I regret to inform you that you are not allowed to create any public cloud project. This decision comes from our Validation department and can not be changed.
I can only advise you to use other services (VPS, dedicated servers...) to improve your score and be allowed to create public cloud projects again.
"
in other words - buy a VPS at the project, that we did not want to activate for you, and make a payment that we will cancelled in a next day.
-10 score point. Guys, it's a top of stupidy I ever met at support!
PS.
"To resolve this issue, please use a payment method that offers all the necessary guarantees in terms of security for the transaction." - IS THIS NOT EHOUGHT ?
1. - my customer: payment card + ID ?
2. - developer: payment card + ID + bank statement ?
3. - developer: Paypal
all orders with this payment methods was cancelled.
Isn't it obvious that when a person buys a domain for 10 years, they are not playing games with you?
My Customer code
2000-3467-68
orders: 18042686, 18042692, 18045285
ps. in about a 10 days my money came back from cancelled orders

For the VPS, whose contract was automatically renewed through emails due to my mistake, the support team resolved my issue and removed the contract and canceled the VPS.

The Canadian entity won't add the address to an invoice citing that the address was added to the account after the invoice was created. Of course they don't allow you to transfer a domain without adding the address because they need it for Domain-C Admin contact which had to be done before the invoice was created. Gave up the cat and mouse game with support and just decided to not move my domains to them. Really funny for a company that has their HQ in France, Europe where we take invoicing seriously.

This company are straight up scammers, not of the smart kind but the french kind, who aren't capable of designing a decent modern architecture, understandably a lot will go wrong, and then you can't retrieve your password that they changed without your consent, you can't contact support, and they continue charging you without you being able to cancel. Avoid at all cost and advise against this company, there's a reason the score is so low despite all the fake positive bot reviews.

I have paid for a VPS server, and the payment was successfully withdrawn from my card. However, on the order page, I haven't received ticket support yet; it seems to be unavailable. The sales team appears to be unresponsive. My order was also rejected, despite making a successful payment. There has been no response from the support team. This has been the worst VPS service experience of my life and a complete waste of time.

The issue is not the free domain name but the attitude of the customer service. Fernando V. responded to me with a disrespectful phrase: "You should have checked the order before paying." It has now been three days without access to my domain name, which demonstrates their incompetence. This lack of seriousness is wasting my precious time for a paltry amount of $9.99. Now I understand why this company has such a lousy rating of 2 on Trustpilot Canada. Their incompetence and nonchalant attitude are unacceptable. To be continued, I will update with the follow-up. I strongly advise against doing business with them.
