Shame there isn't a zero star option

Shame there isn't a zero star option. Absolutely & utterly useless. Taken 3 weeks to sort out moving from a pay as you go account to a direct debit account. When calling them you end up getting transferred to three or four different people because they are not "fully trained" to handle a specific request . They don't seem to have a clue. Simple things are not the norm with Ovo. Dreadful stressful experience.

Avoid at all costs if you value sanity

The ombudsman have found against them in my favour for failure to pay me for solar energy that I have fed into the grid. They have been directed to pay me £200 compensation. They have failed and continously fail to settle this outstanding figure. Shocking disgrace of a comoany

This is absolutely the WORST business…

This is absolutely the WORST business I’ve come across. There is absolutely no professionalism nor knowledge of the job from anyone there. I was billed for a period that I was not with them and now they’re telling me the bill they made up is my responsibility. I obviously thought it was a scam or joke but no, they were serious. I called multiple times to speak to someone but each person I spoke to was worse than the previous. I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager and I was told that no managers want to talk to me then after asking again they said the managers are having a rest day then the agent proceeded to say that they don’t want to waste my time so they will call me back another time (obviously trying to get me off the phone). This company is a joke and should be illegal to be in business to be honest.

Thanks for your Loyalty

Found them great but want to fix for a year and the bribery is you have to have a smart meter. No I am not having one. I am disgusted with them and if this is what loyalty is they can stick it. I hope they go bust

Sse without telling us transferred us…thieves and scammers

Sse without telling us transferred us to OVO and also our £200 odd of credit. We’ve been emailing, ringing and writing to OVO to transfer our credit to our account and they keep saying they will but never had. We ring and they pass us on and on to the next person, so now we have notified offcom and our local MP as we think that they are scammers and thieves. CEO is very ignorant as we also emailed him too.

Bandits

My account credit keeps growing. At the same time they want to increase my direct debit, but they will not refund any of my money that they are holding.

Bunch of Cowboys (and girls)

The worst company with staff who don't give a hoot about customer service. They cancelled my account incorrectly in October last year and took nearly 2 months for them to reinstate it. Then cancelled it again 4 hours later. Best bit is because THEY closed my account I did not receive the November gov't subsidy and they paid it into my OVO account. I have been trying to get them to refund it but 4 months later their excuse is WE paid it into your account which was in credit in December but as you are in arrears viz £4.09 we will not pay it into your bank account.
It is great how they decide what to do with MY Money.. Has to be the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. Utterly shocking. One can only wonder what training they have been given to deal with customers. Don't bother emailing them you never get a response. Phoning their South African call centre you get people who don't give a hoot and over peomise and fail to deliver to get you off the phone. Send them a DM and wait for days for a response. I will leave this joke of a company very soon. SSE were 1000 times better than thsse bunch of cowboys.

OVO used to be one of the good…

OVO used to be one of the good guys....no more though. They insist my monthly payment should be £180 per month when I'm £350 in credit and average energy use is £100 per month. Absolutely no care or understanding from people on phone...and had to be on phone 30 minutes. Topped off by a bare faced lie about having a smart meter installed "because you'll have to pay for them from next month" if you don't agree to it now.

HI FELLOW OVO SUFFERERS

Hi fellow OVO sufferers, who’d have thought I’d have found myself in this place I’ve been put in for my own safety (apparently) !!
I’ve only been here a couple of months and as long as I make good progress, I should be released by next spring.
It’s quite nice, free food, free drugs, own room + TV. Not forgetting free ELECTRICITY + GAS !!!! One over on you OVO. !!!
Who would have thought having 2 smart meters installed in August by OVO would lead to me being incarcerated in this place.
I’m not allowed to talk about what went on with OVO since August because apparently I become suicidal. I personally don’t recall the events. Doctor says I’ve erased most of them from my memory.
Anyway, I’ve learnt from OVO how to be a bloody good liar, so that could be useful when they let me back into society in the spring.
Opps, here come ‘lurch’, thought he was an inmate until last week. Wondered why he was giving out the drugs but thought the NHS was just short of staff. Turns out he’s been working here for 1 year and he’s an ex OVO suffering inmate. (Reformed)
He’s given me the nickname of, yes you’ve guessed it, ‘OVOBOY’ !!
Just taken my ‘pep me down’ pills, so need to stop now as my conversation will end up just like OVO’S, ALL TOTAL BO**OCKS !!
Bye from OVOBOY. 🥺

Avoid this company

Avoid this company. I’d give them minus 5 stars if that was possible. I’ve had nothing but trouble with them and have had to involve the Energy Ombudsman to try to stop them sending me bills for energy already paid for.

Bad experience leaving the company

(Written on behalf of my stepfather):
I moved house on 28th June 2022, turning off all Electrical appliances. I handed in my keys to Samphire Homes, part of the Flagship Group, on Monday 4th July.
I completed an OVO cancellation form and sent it.

Unfortunately, I am to date *still* being charged by OVO as though I am still living there. I have had numerous communications and telephone calls with OVO in the past 3 months.

Shocking

OVO tried to make us go 17 days WITH ZERO POWER TO THE HOUSE. They don’t want to spend money sending engineers out. We had to threaten a complain and had to speak to a manager. The phone robots repeat the same old bs. And as for direct debits not anymore your not taking what you like from my bank account!!!

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE

My electric smart meter went live with OVO on May 25th after asking them to install a new one since joining (they refused).
This highlighted that they had my meter readings the wrong way round. They advised they couldn’t do any thing until my previous supplier changed this. The previous supplier EON got this sorted with in 2 working days and arranged a phone call back a few days later just to check with me that OVO have gotten all the info Marion they need..sounds great..until I have to re contact OVO!
After over an hour on the phone Friday the lady promised me a call back Monday because there was no one in that steam that could help. Monday comes 4pm still no call so I spend yet another hour on the phone explaining my issue to Sophie only to be told I have to wait 12 weeks to get them even pick the dispute up!! 12 weeks for something another company done in 48 hours! I’m due out of my fixed term in 10 days and am due money back from over paying on my gas due to the issue but no surprise they are in no rush to sort this!
The fact I’m due out of contact in 10 days and my new estimated direct debit is clearly going to be wrong (while on a high variable rate) due to the readings all wrong OVO have no care in the world!
When I told Nicola on the dispute team I will be taking this to social media she told me she was going to terminate the call if I am going to slate OVO online to future customers. Not only have I had awful service I’ve now been told I can not openly tell people about this on social media!
Awful customer service!!
