New Oil Boiler installation…

They did a first class job of fitting a new oil boiler for us, as our old one was 33 years old. They arrived on time and finished the job on time as agreed. Their price was very competitive. We had excellent communications from the head office staff, installation engineers and the managing director. Would readily recommend them.

I was meant to have my oil service on 18th December and they did not turn up with NO communication at all. I had to phone up to find out and this awful woman who does not seems to care and said I have apologised and what do you want me to do!! How rude! This isn’t the first time I have this cancellation esp in dec! I would NOT recommend!

Plumber did nothing at all

I contacted oxyplumb because my boiler, which is only a couple of years old, developed a fault. I gave them the fault code before they came out which said it was a flow sensor, so if they needed parts they could bring them. They made an appointment a week away, we explained the heating was working but no hot water. They then sent an email changing the appointment time. They then sent another email changing the time again. Neither time did we reply and agree to the appointment time being changed as my husband had to take time off work to attend. On the day of their proposed third time a workman turned anyway, up to 45 minutes late. When i made the appointment over the phone and explained the fault code, I was promised they would probably fix within the hour. The workman stayed approx 20 mins and just went through the display reading the fault codes and talking about his renovations and traffic. He then said yes, its your, its your flow sensor which we had already told them. He didnt need any expertise for this because we supplied this info to him. He said it was an easy fix and cheap and someone would come back to fix in a day or two with the part. Bearing in mind we told them this so they knew the fault before they came so they should of had the part. They charge by the visit and hour. He went without doing anything. We were astonished. We then got a phone call saying it 'could be lots of things' and they would give us the number of worcester bosch who would charge us a fixed fee to fix it. This was contrary to what we knew the fault was and to what the plumber also said it was even though he wasn't supposed to come. They wanted £132 to have come out and read the fault code we gave them. They sent us a picture of our boiler to prove they had been out. We realised we d been scammed. They hadn't investigated the fault or tried to repair and I asked them if they got a referral fee from Worcester bosch as the person who rang us wanted to ring back to check we had contacted Worcester bosch. The fixed price was £400 by the way. So they charge you £132 for doing absolutely nothing, then get you to pay a fixed price to Worcester bosch for a sensor fault that the machine diagnosed itself. What a scam. As to the reply. Rubbish. They did absolutely nothing but turn up late, read a fault code, they d already been given and advise us to use worcester bosch. Its definitely not what they promised. They moved the appointment twice. Dont waste your money. They did not investigate. You don't need a plumber to flick through a button and read a fault code, you need them to be experienced and qualified to determine how to fix a boiler after the fault code. Just an update, we got another company in to fix the fault they didn't want to, they brought the part which cost a tenner and fixed it in 5 minutes.
