con artists!! do not use!!!

company is an absolute joke!
firstly they took money when they said they wouldn’t at the time of the booking so i’ve cancelled the booking and now delaying tactics on my refund!
seems like this company is doing this to everyone who books with them!
i have requested a chargeback with my bank now as getting nowhere with oyo.

Do not trust the “pay later” option

Do not trust the “pay later” option, they will immediately take the money out of your account regardless, despite it literally saying “Don’t worry, you won’t be charged”
You will be !!!

Wont refund my Money

Every review is about refunds do not use

I booked my hotel stay with Free Cancellation. I had to cancel because of a change of work and cant get a refund. Keep getting told a technical issue is stopping them refunding my money. This has been going on for a week now.
Do your self a favour there's plenty of hotels that offer a much better service.
I will be contacting my bank to initiate a fraud claim.
THEY JUST DONT CARE AS THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY !!!!!!

I stay in hotels 40 plus weeks per year and unfortunately due to your lack of support I doubt id use oyo again. I had up until this incident used your crewe hotel frequently and found it pleasant.

And will I get a full refund as the conformation says there's a deduction. Its free cancellation I have proof.

Update had a partial refund but not the full amount. STILL NOT GOOD ENOUGH !!!!

Now had a full refund so will update to reflect the truth. I will never use this hotel chain again.
Book at your peril.

I’d give 0 stars if I could!
I booked a hotel room through these for two nights, clicked on “pay at propert” and they took my money straight from my account!
Drove 3 hours to Colchester to arrive at my hotel for then to say you haven’t booked with OYO have you? Because we are sold out no rooms! Whole of Colchester was sold out.
Date was 22nd Aug 2025 ive called them 5 times being told problem with our system same rubbish excuse! Then emailed me Saturday 9 days ago to say your money will be with you 7-14 days - why does it take so long for my money to return? Should be simple?
Called them today for them to give me the same bollocks response!
I want my money back you con artist!

Had to pay out more money for a hotel 45 mins arrive out of Colchester as every hotel was fully booked!

How do you continue to keep ripping people off?
My next move is going to the national news see if that makes a difference!!

I will continue to call EVERYDAY untill I have my money back!

Avoid at all costs

Jist recieved a new email after calling everyday to say I have to wait another 14 days due to technical issues seems to be yoir only reply always the problem? I won’t be waiitng ive slgiven them till Friday then I’ll take this further

OYO so last Tuesday ypu told me over the phone to wait maximum 4 days it’s now been 7 days and I still don’t have my money!

So now I’m taking it further. Dont send me emails telling me it’s being sorted because it isnt and im not waiting any longer !!!!

Why won't they refund my money after 5 complaints from me?

I'll never book with them again! I spent £560 on hotel rooms on 13 August and cancelled them after investigating further on 14 August. Despite 3 phone calls I have not been refunded. The message is the same on each occasion ' so sorry ,there is a 'technical error', (which they won't explain) we'll process this manually and let you know by email or phone when we've done it. You'll have your money in 2 days'. It NEVER happens. I've now put it in the hands of my bank. I can see that I'm far from alone in this. You've been warned!

After writing this review, they now ask for more information but I have already supplied this on 3 occasions. This looks like yet another delaying tactic. What will be different on the 4th occasion, I ask?

Well here we go again. I phoned them again and furnished this information for the 4th time
It wasn't a surprise to hear that it had been escalated, that the hotel had to approve it and after'a few days' when it had gone to the down team I'd get my money!!! I've now heard this 4 times.
I suspect the replies from OYO are AI generated and automatic.
I'm now adding my booking information for the 5th time.
ODTG7086 for 229 GB pounds and X9686555 for 336 GB pounds.
Will this result in action at last?

Update 20 September- now 5 weeks since I cancelled my reservation.
There is clearly no new action as this is the 5th time, yes 5th time, I've been told that it has been escalated to an internal team,!
My 'patience and understanding' have worn out , so my bank is now handling this for me as I paid by credit card.

Their latest reply is absolutely unacceptable. The SIXTH time they have said this. Do NOT use OYO.

It's now 2 months and a contact with my bank to ask them to investigate, a huge amount of headache, trouble and worry and I'm told the refund is successful. Am I supposed to be grateful that OYO have held on to my money for so long? No explanation as to why it took so long. If one adds up the numbers of people that this is happening to them it's a tidy amount of interest earned for this company.

Difficult to manage/cancel bookings - website appears not to work correctly

The links in email to manage / cancel my booking don't work, I somehow ended up with duplicate bookings and I can't cancel them. I've tried logging in with my phone number and I have only got 1 authentication code after attempting to send multiple and it didn't work, the web page just loaded up again without me logged in, I then tried the app and that won't send me a one time code either. Utter pain and doesn't give me any faith in the companies booking system. I've now booked with an alternate supplier and am having to attempt to sign in so I can cancel my 2 bookings with OYO which has already taken 10 minutes of attempting to sign in.

Tried to sign in hours later and it's now blocked my number from sending codes even though I only received 1 in total, and their phone number says to press 2 for managing bookings but then doesn't forward me to a person and cuts off the call after 30 seconds.

I manged to get the correct number to manage my bookings from talking to someone on the booking line and then get the correct number to manage my booking which was 02038870032, I then got through to a helpful person who was able to cancel my bookings using the reference number.

Another issue of no refund from OYO

Booked 3 rooms at The Leven in Stokesley, which were cancelled soon after. This was SIX weeks ago, and there has been no refund.
Phoned customer relations several times now, and keep getting told "really sorry, technical issue, I've put the refund through, 10-14 working days", etc etc, same thing again and again.

Looks like this is happening to a lot of people. Disgraceful behaviour from a so-called hotel chain. They claim to be the fastest growing hotel group, but I will NEVER use them again, and would recommend that everybody else doesn't either!

Booking ref G6UW3605. The entire booking was for 3 rooms, two doubles and one single

Update - I was promised an email confirmation of the refund, but of course, nothing has arrived.
No further update from anyone since the last contact. Delaying tactics as usual, proving that you shouldn't be using this company!

Update 14.09.25 - promised refund a week ago within 48 hours, still nothing! Joke of a company! We have been in touch with the national press about this issue. OYO keep apologising but the fact of the matter is, they owe us £550 that they took in July and have still NOT returned.

Awful system

Awful system, it says free cancellation but you are unable to cancel. It says you need a OTP but never sends it. The online chat points you towards the Customer service number which is a pre loaded bot that points you back the other way.

Truly horrendous service, will never break into the hotel market like this.

I deeply regret using this company to…

I deeply regret using this company to book a hotel. I have been trying for days to cancel my booking. The main way is through a chat, which takes you around in circles. It sends you an OTP (one time password) to verify but it always fails without fail. It then gives you a number to call as the next option, which cuts you off after 5 min. I have had to Google a couple of email addresses to contact them to cancel, which have returned to me as "failed to send". Absolute nightmare. This has been going on for days.

I phoned early in the morning and was able to get through to someone. I asked them to cancel and to send an email confirmation of this cancellation. This was actioned, to my relief. I stand by my original review. It shouldn't be this hard to amend or cancel a booking.

4 weeks and still no refund. I’ve phoned customer service 3 times and every single time I was promised the money within 24–48 hours. Still nothing.

This company lies, delays, and shows zero accountability. Feels like an outright scam. Do not trust them with your money.

UPDATE: For some reason only £113 of my £126 refund was finally refunded.

UPDATE: Over a month since my cancellation, I’m still waiting for the £13 difference. Baffled why I’ve only received a partial refund, when I was emailed stating that I was due the full amount.
This is a matter of principal now and will not be dropped.

Evidence of Disgusting Service please review before booking

. When we drove 3 hours to arrive and find out you overbooked the hotel on the busiest weekend of the year in Brighton, only to be told to leave and go home. It’s been 4 months as nothing has been revolved.

You also got our names wrong, the location of hotel and clearly have 0 cars on customer satisfaction.

Disgusting company and as I say am happy to leave 0 star reviews for the rest of my life until You refund us for your vile service.

We have spent months trying to get a satisfactory resolution and you fail as a business to do so.

Booked their hotel in Kilburn London as…

Booked their hotel in Kilburn London as we have tickets to see Coldplay. They cancelled my booking less than 24 hours before check in with absolutely no reason whatsoever. I called their customer service line 4 times only to be told their system is down and can’t help.

Their final email to me was to tell me that they are pleased to advise I will not be charged a cancellation fee 😂

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Booking.com has sent me a ‘no-show’ email!

OYO have told them I didn’t check in and they want to invoice me for the room.

Beyond ridiculous.

OYO have not left me a voicemail and they did indeed take the money for the hotel room and Booking.com have confirmed they are raising a credit for me and have asked the hotel for an explanation as to why they didn’t inform them they had cancelled the room!

They can keep updating with apologies and it makes no difference to me. Useless, unprofessional company.

False OYO booking

We booked a room through OYO at North Hill Colchester. When we arrived we were told that we had no booking and that they do not have a contract with OYO. They said OYO keep doing this and we are not the first to turn up saying with have an OYO booking. I have tried making contact with OYO but no response. Avoid.

What have you done to Sunday Walton…

Room 4.... What have you done to Sunday Walton Hall and Hotel. It is a total disgrace. It's run down. No customer service. You booked dinner bed and breakfast and there are no dinner slots left. And due to isolated position nowhere else to get food if you have had a drink as you need to go to Stratford upon Avon. Get yourselves organised and send someone to review the once little gem of a hotel. Health and safety issues throughout the grounds I have photos of the safety net on the bridge which has come away. The life bouy should you fall in is missing which is a legal requirement. How your being allowed to let that hotel stay open is highly questionable. Room 4 has a broken window pane. Live electric cable going into the bathroom no trunking or covering. Need I go on.....

Hotel did not accept OYO bookings

Booked a room for the night of 9th August 2025 via the app for the North Hill Hotel, Gloucester. The hotel did not accept OYO bookings so had to book another hotel. Made numerous phone calls, as did the manager of the North Hill Hotel, to the OYO Experience Team regarding the issue. Each time was told the payment would be refunded shortly - it took two weeks and during most of that period the hotel was still available to book via the OYO app. It has now been removed.

Budget friendly

Dodgy company

I cancelled my hotel nearly 2 weeks ago. Although it said the hotel was £278 with no deposit, they took out £278 and the email said it was £416. I cancelled straight away (no payment taken for cancellations) After multiple phones calls with them saying it takes a few days for a refund. I am still waiting for a refund. 1 out 5 is too much to give them. UPDATE: IT IS NOW 2 WEEKS NO REFUND AND 5 DAYS FROM REPLY BELOW AND NO REFUND

can't cancel a booking

can't cancel a booking, same as last reviewer, no OTP sent, automated responses on phone and email that don't allow cancellation. Luckily I haven't paid anything but still don't want this booking active and want confirmation of its cancellation.

How is this legal?

I have no idea how legal action hasn’t been taken against this company.

There is literally no way to contact the company. Am currently trying to cancel a booking and am being redirected to their AI “assistant” because that is the only way to cancel and receive a refund. The assistant is asking for a one time password that I am not being sent. The cherry on top is that the bot provided a number for me to call, yet it isn’t even valid. Furthermore their booking line terminates if you try to call to cancel an existing booking through that too. There is no way that this is legal. It is literally impossible to cancel a booking right now.

On the off chance anyone from OYO sees this, here is the booking ID: UHAO2547

Please cancel this and issue a refund.
