I saw them questioning a fare evasion…
I saw them questioning a fare evasion suspect without using PACE.
The RPI claimed the fare evasion suspect "Had to" answer their questions (They didn't , only provide name and address)

Unacceptable service
First and foremost, I would like to address the condition, age, and cleanliness of the trains. Many of these carriages are clearly outdated and, in my view, should have been retired long ago. It is unacceptable that in a major European capital—where residents pay significant amounts in taxes, council tax, and transport fares—passengers are expected to use trains that are decades old. This is not only disappointing but reflects poorly on London as a global city.
These trains do not meet modern European standards. Many lack proper ventilation or air conditioning, making them unbearably hot in summer and uncomfortably cold in winter. Passenger information systems are inconsistent and often insufficient. In many other European cities, even in Eastern Europe, trains provide clear and useful real-time information such as upcoming stations, time, temperature, and other relevant details. This level of service is noticeably lacking here.
Cleanliness is another serious concern. The condition of the carriages is often unacceptable: worn-out seating, visibly dirty interiors, and surfaces that appear not to have been properly cleaned for extended periods. It is frequently difficult to sit without worrying about soiling one’s clothes. This standard is far below what passengers should reasonably expect.
Despite these shortcomings, fares continue to increase, yet there is little to no visible improvement in service quality. The overall travel experience is, frankly, unpleasant and at times degrading. Public transport should meet basic standards of comfort and dignity, which is currently not the case.
The condition of stations is equally concerning. Many appear neglected, outdated, and in need of urgent renovation. Visible deterioration, including damaged surfaces and poor cleanliness, further contributes to the negative experience.
In terms of service reliability, the situation is equally frustrating. The Tube has become highly unreliable, with frequent delays and disruptions. At times, it feels as though there is only a 50% chance of reaching one’s destination as planned. Overcrowding is another major issue, with passengers often packed into carriages to an extent that makes movement and even breathing difficult.
While delays are often accompanied by repeated apologies over the public address system, meaningful assistance is rarely provided. When disruptions occur, staff are often unavailable on platforms, and passengers receive little to no useful information beyond a generic apology. Being told to “seek alternative routes” is not an adequate solution, particularly when no compensation is offered.
Over the 17 years I have lived in the UK, I have lost a significant amount of time and money due to these ongoing issues. This is both frustrating and deeply disappointing.
Furthermore, the recurring strikes—spanning multiple consecutive days and occurring repeatedly across months—raise serious concerns about the overall management and sustainability of the service. From a passenger’s perspective, this situation is simply unacceptable.
Passengers are frequently reminded that abusive behaviour towards TfL staff will not be tolerated, which is entirely understandable. However, this raises an important question: who represents and protects passengers when they are consistently subjected to poor service? There appears to be no clear accountability, and responsibility is often shifted between departments without resolution.
I would like to know who within TfL takes responsibility for these issues and who passengers can turn to for meaningful support and resolution.
This is a paid service, and as such, it should meet reasonable standards. If TfL is unable to deliver this, then serious consideration should be given to structural improvements, including consulting external experts from countries where public transport systems operate more effectively.
I am extremely dissatisfied, frustrated, and disappointed. On a daily basis, I lose at least an hour of my time due to these issues—time for which I am effectively paying.
When is TFL going to get in the 21st…
When is TFL going to get in the 21st century. We are the laughing stock of the world. Signal failures every other day. It’s impossible to get anywhere in London quickly. I hope the Mayor gets voted out at the next election. Absolutely useless.
Would give 0 if i could.
HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE
WHERE IS THE MAJOR OF LONDON
ARE YOU NOT ASHAMED
A HORRIFIC experience withTFL on phone and online . I have now been trying for over a week to get through to the right department to process a REFUND.
Firstly, I had to go through a MARATHON of options and when I eventually did speak to an operative, I was shunted from one department to another. No one could help. When I finally got through to the ‘refund’ department, the boixe sounded like a robot with gaps in between and when I asked if she was a robot ……. gap ……”no I am not a robot ……”.
So, as I said, a HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE all round just to get a refund of £7:55
NO REFUND WAS FORTHCOMING
The website is a mire of unnavigable options too.
Congratulations on a consistently useless service
Well I suppose with enough 1 stars you'll eventually make it to 5 stars.
I just wanted to commend you on your consistency, your online top up service is as useless as your entire service....WHEN WILL WE GET A SUITABLE ALTERNATIVE OR COMPETITION FOR THIS AWFUL SERVICE THAT WE ARE BEHOLDEN TO?!!!!!
paying by website for Blackwall tunnel
I want to pay Blackwall Tunnel . The website is very very unclear!!!
It should have been that when I enter the vehicle registration number it would say (when I pay after I've driven) that this vehicle owes £4. Now it feels like I'm just paying blindly
Horrible
Horrible, disgusting and cruel service during the weekends. People which works during the weekend has had the worst service.
A Masterclass in Confusion and Customer…
A Masterclass in Confusion and Customer Misdirection
If Transport for London set out to design a system that confuses, frustrates, and ultimately misleads the very people who fund it, they’ve succeeded spectacularly.
I recently received a letter about a Penalty Charge Notice that reads like it was stitched together by three different departments who never once spoke to each other. According to TfL, they owed me a refund, issued it, then also claim the PCN was correctly enforced, then also say I paid it, then also say they sent a certificate — all while admitting the liability wasn’t even mine at the time the charge was issued. It’s a maze of contradictions dressed up as “clarification.”
This isn’t customer service. It’s obfuscation.
Instead of acknowledging their own administrative error, the letter bends over backwards to justify the PCN, repeating the same lines as if hoping repetition will make the logic hold together. It doesn’t. The result is a document that feels deliberately engineered to make the customer doubt themselves rather than question TfL’s processes.
When an organisation with this much power over Londoners can’t produce a coherent explanation for a simple PCN — and instead sends out contradictory statements that raise more questions than answers — it’s hard not to conclude that the system is designed this way. Confusion benefits them, not the public.
Londoners deserve better than bureaucratic smoke‑and‑mirrors.
Out £60.50 for an Oyster card I have not received
On my way to work (Shenfield to Peckham Rye), I decided to tap out at Stratford station to purchase an Oyster card so I could link it to my 26–30 Railcard and save money on journeys. This meant I had to tap out and then tap back in again after the purchase, which added additional cost to my journey.
At one of the machines, I paid for a new Oyster card and added £50 credit, totalling £60.50. The machine printed a receipt but did not dispense the Oyster card.
Two members of staff, Aileen and Bakary, attempted to fix the machine – which involved going behind it and trying to shake it – but they were unable to get it working.
As I had to leave for work, I asked about getting a refund. They told me they couldn’t issue one at the station and advised me to contact customer services.
Calling customer services involved being on hold for over 20 minutes and being transferred between two different teams, only to be told that I shouldn’t have called at all and that I instead needed to send an email with a photo of my receipt.
At the station, Aileen and Bakary told me that “with a purchase this big you should get refunded almost immediately.” However, the person on the phone told me I would “probably receive a response within a week.”
So far I have spent £60.50 on a card I never received, paid additional money for tapping out and back in at Stratford, wasted time at the station which nearly made me late for work, spent more time on hold with customer services at the advice of staff, and am now out of pocket while waiting for a response.
These train companies make a huge amount of money. It would be nice to see some of that invested in systems that actually work for customers.
Absolute rip off organisation

Not fit for purpose
Not fit for purpose ! T.F.L literally knows nothing about transport and travel. Not only couldn’t they care . Nothing worse ever ! Trains late or cancelled.
Roads crumbing, blocked and not fit for purpose. All they care about is trying to extort drivers with cameras everywhere & pointless arbitrary rules & penalties ! Absolutely the worst and VILE ! They help make life a misery and expensive ! THE WORST !
Misleading updates.
Generally very good but at times when it says good service on all lines especially Piccadilly line is misleading when you suddenly hear announcements saying no trains to Heathrow airport T5 a lot of staff can be very late for work because of this needs to be improved especially when affected by Acton town problems still.

The fact that TFL are happy to issues…
The fact that TFL are happy to issues licenses for private hire to people that have never passed a UK driving test, therefore not reaching the required standard of driving; which UK citizens are required to do, is as laughable. Never again will I get a cab anywhere. You are not fit for purpose!
Can you please tell your drivers to…
Can you please tell your drivers to stop being lazy and stop at the stops unless no one wants them or their full.
Just now 13:24 on 3rd March, your driver on the 295 came out of his depot at Sainsbury's Ladbrokes grove and failed to stop for in total 6 persons. We tried to hollow him but, he deliberately kept his head straight. There was no reason for him not to stop. Bus left at 13:24. Couldn't catch number as he drove away fast.
