We started out working with Paro and really enjoyed the process they took us through to find someone. We agreed to work with a CFO and after only 2 weeks we decided to part ways due to scheduling conflicts and other things. But Paro is still charging us $9,000/month after they saw that we parted ways. Trying to cancel with them they told us it has to be 60 days in advance, but this whole process has only been 45 days. And the CFO agreed to part ways. We get no response from support and a company of this size shouldnt be in the business of hurting small businesses.

Much better than expected
Was a little skeptical how using someone remote would be. But its been about 6 months now and its gone without a hitch and half what I was paying when I had a full time employee. Would recommend to anyone who doesnt feel like they need someone full time.

Stick with a brick and mortar bookkeeper
I would not recommend Paro. Paro assigned our company an "experienced bookkeeper." It ended up being a total disaster with the bookkeeper's lack of responsiveness and numerous errors that she made in our books. The work was sloppy and evidenced a clear lack of attention to detail.

Rubbish company
Rubbish company. I set up a profile with them and interviewed with one of their clients for a role. They 1) didn’t get back to me and 2) take 50% of the rate they quote to the client which is just insanely high. I’ve worked with 2 other contracting/freelance firms now and the process has been a lot more seamless and much more lucrative. Another thing that is just super odd is that they sit in on your interview with the client which has literally never been the case for any other similar roles I’ve had.

There is zero accountability with the contractors they hire; they only act if you threaten to cancel the membership as otherwise they have no incentive to help. They ignored my emails for months and then only acted when I sent my cancellation notice. I would definitely not recommend using them for any accounting/bookkeeping or other services.

This company needs to improve the…The way it operates in general.
This company needs to improve the process on how paro contracts bid for the jobs. The account manager need to update the status of job openings in a more timely cadence. There also needs to be more of an explanation why a paro contractor didn't win the bid versus the auto generated email that makes no sense. This is one of the worst freelance accounting companies I've worked for and wouldn't recommend future potential paro contractors to come work for this company.

It's only been 1.5 months, but so far I love the my contacts. My bookkeeper is amazing and my consultant, Amanda, is a gem.
The company itself has a few inefficiencies with their portal and customer service has been slow to resolve (still not resolved).
BUT - my books are in good shape. :)

Build your client base in a matter of months
I have been using the Paro platform as an expert since 2020. The company does a great job providing you opportunities for new clients. There is a regular stream of offers weekly without any effort from you. You can pick and choose the offers you are interested in, and you can build your client base rather quickly with just being timely and professional with meetings. The Paro service is worth their commission because they act as your personal sales rep.

Five star service
Anna helped me find a qualified consultant incredibly quickly (within a short time frame, which was just what I needed to process payroll on time). She was prompt, efficient, courteous and thoughtful. My consultant did an excellent job answering my questions and helping me to make sure I had set up my taxes correctly. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I went from being worried if I’d chosen the right company because I hadn’t heard of them before, to being a definite repeat customer!
