From the moment you go in the store it…
From the moment you go in the store it’s very unwelcoming, awful customer service, seemed like it was a total inconvenience. Then completely tried ripping me off with things that didn’t need servicing, there work was in excess of £200 pounds and the local bike shop completed the work for £40. Definitely do not waist your time!!!
After many years of using Partridge Cycles, I would no longer recommend them
Alex, the manager told me to stick to the facts if I was making a negative review, so here they are:
Over the years we have bought 4 adult and 3 children’s bikes from Partridge cycles.
I went to Partridge cycles to buy a new bike, I was experiencing significant neck pain, so wanted a bike with an upright position.
I spent over half an hour trying new bikes, the sales assistant was very helpful, but unfortunately the only bike that had an upright position only had 6 gears, so would be no good for hills.
I decided to buy some new swept back handlebars, these were a success, so the plan was then to do up my current bike.
I bought a new saddle also from Partridge cycles and booked it for a gear service and new chain.
The engineer phoned me to say a new cassette was also needed, so I said go ahead, though there was a wait for the part.
I picked up the bike, attached it to the bike carrier on a tow bar (wheels and frame clamped on).
The bike was wheeled into the garage.
A few days later I cycled to the post office, 0.4 miles each way, then wheeled the bike back into the garage.
A few days later my husband started to wheel the bike back out and noticed the back wheel was falling off. If I had taken the bike further than the post office, I dread to think what would have happened.
We contacted the manager at Partridge cycles with the video. He was uncertain as to what had been done from the service sheet and the video, so asked me to take the bike back in.
I asked for a copy of the standard operating procedure that covered health and safety checks on a bike before handing it back to a client. The manager told me the SOP was an internal document so I couldn’t see it.
After a heated discussion Partridge cycles will take no responsibility for the dangerous state the bike was in. I was accused of ignoring recommendations to replace my bike, however, at NO POINT was this said to me by anyone working at Partridge cycles.
The bike was returned to me with an extra ‘bent’ part having been replaced.
I will not be going back to Partridge cycles and would not recommend them.

Bought a 5k plus ebike based on information supplied by the supposedly trained staff, specifically that the bike would be compatible with a range extender. Turned out this was not true so I exchanged the bike for another which would accept a range extender and would achieve the same range as it was the same battery capacity. Also not true! After 21 miles I informed the shop that I would take the original bike and buy a separate battery in order to achieve the range required. For this privilege they charged me £500!!! The most expensive 21 miles ever. Avoid this retailer at all costs, poorly trained staff and arrogant management. Trading standards here I come
Very good service!!
Very good service!!! I bought bike online and I’m so pleased. Bike arrived set up and almost ready for ride. Bike was safety packed and delivered quick. I recommend this store !!
