Good luck if you have more than a minor problem

When I initially signed up for PayRange, I did so using an email address that the phone app saved after that first use and subsequently always used as the default value when opening the app. That's important because there's no question as to if I were using the right address to sign in today because it's always the same value and is present without me touching anything.

I'd been using the app for about a half-year or so with no problems. Today, the app opens with me logged out but with the email address already populated so I only enter the password (stored in a password manager so I know that isn't wrong either) but login fails and the password recovery button did not send an email back to the address even though the message after I tapped even though it said it did.

So, somehow, my email address was no longer recognized by their system and there was no way for me to recover it using their automated password recovery and I needed help to find out what happened to my account. However, I had to wash my clothes right then so leaving the same address in the username field - as I always had - I tapped the create account button and, of course, started with a zero balance so needed to charge new funds to the account - losing the money I already should have had in the original account under the same email address.

I contacted support immediately afterwards, explaining the situation. They were initially helpful and I provided as much information as I possibly could but it soon became clear they were not interested (or perhaps not capable) of figuring out the root cause "How did this account disappear?" and how to restore the balance I'd already paid for.

After an 8 email exchange, where I did my best to provide useful information for them to investigate find out what happened and why, I received a terse request for the email address to issue a (wrong) refund for the amount remaining in the "new" account after I used some of it today to wash my clothes, not for the amount remaining in the originally created account that is now forever lost.

So the lesson I've learned is not to charge any amount to my PayRange balance I am not ready to lose should there be some non-trivial issue their support team needs to investigate. I'm certain that if my problem were simple, they would have taken care of it and I'd be happy right now but since it wasn't, this happened.

While it did cost me a little bit of money, I'm glad I learned that lesson. When all the technology works, it's great! Just be sure to not have any problems that require non-trivial assistance and you'll be a satisfied customer!

ALMOST Great... But...

I am a landlord/property manager and have installed PayRange a little over a month ago to try out on 4 brand new commercial washers and dryers.

So far, PayRange has worked and the tenants love it.

I did have an issue with a faulty/not working properly blukey module that wouldn't work properly out of the box, and they did promptly send a new one out without hassle which works as it should so far.

I do have to take away 2 stars for customer service performance. The customer service is not very responsive and feels like they don't really genuinely care at all once you do get ahold of someone for your issue. They don't respond most of the time and I've had to keep reaching out over and over until someone responds, usually they add someone else to the email to help who in turn does not respond either. It is a little frustrating.

This company has potential but will not do well if they continue down this path. I've seen and used other companies with the same approach to customer service flop in the end. Companies seem to think they are wasting money on customer service due to the labor time that it requires, but great, caring, responsive, and most of all helpful customer service is the single best investment a company can make.... too many businesses have lost sight of that, have resorted to poor customer service, and wonder why their otherwise great product or service is not marketing well.

I do hope PayRange recognizes these common-theme criticisms in all these reviews and turns things around. I would like to see them do better.

Convenient and easy to use

Easy to use, convenient, clean machines. Its so nice to just add money when you need it. And getting a refund was so easy when I moved out of the rv park I was staying at.

It's a decent system when it's working

It's a decent system when it's working, but when a machine breaks or the app is wonky there isn't much you can do. I always have to get the landlord involved to get things fixed. It once closed my account and I lost money, not a lot but still.

Can't transfer to new owner

I installed PayRange in my laundromat a year or two ago. Everything was good and at that point I would hav given 5 stars, BUT I sold my laundromat in December 22, sent in the form requested to turn the system over to the new owner. It is now Feb 10, 2023 and deposits are still being put in my account. I have tried emailing to no avail and nobody ever calls back. The new owner is so fed up that he's thinking of just getting rid of it. They need a better communication system!!!!!

Unresponsive company. They have my money and I can’t get a refund.

Staying in a RV park in Florida. Only option to use laundry services is by downloading the app. First you have to load $25. No other option. Well trying to do 2 loads of laundry ate up that $25 because it wouldn’t work properly. Now I have a credit and can’t get my refund. Their support says to click on the “hamburger” to request a refund. There is no “hamburger” on the app at all. I’ve emailed several times. No response. Terrible! Don’t use this app.

They won't refund my money

They won't refund my money, my apartments unexpectedly switched to a new laundry provider while I still had money left on my payrange account. Payrange said because my purchase fell outside a 90-day period they will not issue a refund. Moral of the story, only put the bare minimum on your account because these people are thieves.

I like using my phone

I usually enjoy using my phone instead of having to have coins to use the washer and dryer. This time I was a little upset because when I went to use one of the washers it made me pay twice in order to use it. I didn't understand why that happened. There's always only two washers out of three working. But like I said, I do appreciate being able to use my phone instead of always having to have changed to use the washer and dryer.

SCAM PEOPLE

March 7th I deposited $40, and since then I could not use this service. I have contacted them by email (only way) 54 times and every time they signed someone to helped me, but they never helped. They always promised to do something when I replied after 101 days then nothing has happened (No Response). They are scam people and do not use their service.
