Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 1,332 reviews, reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Many customers praise the staff for being lovely, kind, and supportive, often going above and beyond to show compassion to pets and their owners. The service is frequently described as amazing and invaluable, with many appreciating the professionalism and the ability to receive affordable treatment, especially for those on limited incomes. People are particularly grateful for the care received, with several noting that the company made it possible to keep their beloved pets healthy. However, some customers also noted issues with customer service, mentioning long waiting times for appointments and feeling that their concerns were not adequately addressed, even when their pets were in pain. A few other people also felt that the pricing for certain services, particularly emergency consultations, was unexpectedly high, and some experienced rude or unprofessional behavior from reception staff.

About PDSA

Written by the company

As the UK’s largest veterinary charity, PDSA is dedicated to supporting people and their pets. PDSA provides free and low-cost vet care in 49 Pet Hospitals across the UK to people that can’t afford the full cost of their pet’s care, ensuring that pets and their families can stay together longer.

PDSA is the vet charity for pets in need. Every day in our Pet Hospitals across the UK, PDSA vets and vet nurses protect the special bond between owners and their four-legged friends by providing veterinary care to sick and injured pets whose owners otherwise couldn’t afford to pay the full cost of treatment.

PDSA also offers pet welfare education and practical preventive support to combat the unnecessary illness, pain and suffering of pets in low-income households.

Whether it’s supporting pet owners with free advice on our Pet Health Hub, raising awareness of issues such as obesity, or recognising animals who have demonstrated acts of bravery through our Animal Awards programme – we know how important animals are.

Every year, PDSA vets and vet nurses treat over 430,000 pets throughout our 49 Pet Hospitals – that’s 10 pets every single minute. We receive no government funding and rely entirely on public support to continue our work.

The pdsa are just amazing

The pdsa are just amazing. They are friendly and very helpful. I could not afford my pets medicine that she desperately needs. She is too old to have an operation so the medicine she receives helps with the tooth pain. They have given me good advice by pointing me in the right direction about things such as plaque off to help with her teeth that with the pain medicine combined has helped my cat be able to return to eating her biscuits again. Before this she couldn't eat her biscuits and she would go to the biscuits look at them and walk away. It broke my heart because she loved her biscuits and would eat some meat and go back and forth between meat and biscuits before this. I had to keep the biscuits down because I had another cat but I felt guilty. Now she is back to normal and 19 years old is doing remarkable. The pdsa are lifesavers. It's a fantastic charity. I was knocked down year's ago and cannot work any more and so am unable to afford veterinary treatment. Im very grateful to the pdsa and the staff who run it. What an amazing service they give. Thankyou.

Pdsa is very busy these days five days is a long wait when your dog is being sick and diarrhoea

The vets are always lovely, but I had a long wait for my dog to be seen this time. Five days I phoned up told him she was being sick and I’ve got diarrhoea. It was five days before I got an appointment not so long ago they would always say to you when you phoned up with a poorly pet bring her in anyway if you don’t mind waiting she’ll get seen that worked better for me five days too long with a dog that’s sticking up and having diarrhoea

This service is totally invaluable. The worst you can say is that they are so busy you always have at least one hour wait. Again totally worth it. Thank you so much to the PDSA and all they do to help pets like mine

1st time for my dog Miracle

I experienced the pdsa for the 1st time on Monday 11th May 2026. I am amazed by and appreciate the work I viewed there in Kirkdale. The vet was attentive and explained everything to me. The building was spotlessly clean and fresh. I have to wait a few days to see the results of my dogs treatment. Fingers crossed. Keep up the good work pdsa Kirkdale. Thank you so much.
