Went to get repair a/c. I know that compressor is the only problem and costs around $1000. But got an estimate of 2600 bucks. Saying condensor and expansion valve also needs to be replaced. On top after inspection roof cloth got disorganized which is in good condition before. Lot upset with these people. Will never visit again. Also I would recommend people to approach authorized service centers as they are better skilled and will not try to rob customers.
I filed a customer service compliant on Friday Aug the 25th and still haven't been contacted by any corporate member concerning my complaint. Complaint number is 113059. My complaint dated back to Thur Aug 17, 2023. My vehicle was serviced at your Laurel, Maryland location for an oil change and tire rotation. The oil change was conducted but the tire rotation/inspection was not initiated or done. My appointment was at 2pm, I arrived at 1:45 pm. My car finally was pulled into the service bay at 5:15pm and I received my car back at 6:35 pm. I have called Pep Boys personnel and conversed about this problem only to be told that someone would contact me back. This has yet to happen. I would love to speak with someone in the Pep Boys Corporate Office that handles complaints. I will no longer be the loyal patron of this location in Laurel, Maryland. This location is unprofessional and performs shade tree work. A terrible experience in which I will not tolerate again.
Had an oil change ar the Bandera St SanAntonio location and upon checking in they said they would honor the 25% discount at checkout. Upon checking out, they did not apply the discount and told me it was too late as the transaction was completed. Complete bait and switch lie.
Great service. Walked in and was taken care of right away. My jeeps brakes were fixed within the day. Very satisfied!
Booked an appointment for a coolant system flush on line. Got confirmation and even got an appointment reminder text. Showed up for appointment, told 2 hours before they could get my car in. They said there were cars ahead of me. Why did I bother to make an appointment? Looked like they had maybe 15 bays, all but 2 were open. They have succeeded in managing their business down to almost nothing. Another empty building coming soon! I was a first time customer.
The "mechanics" are incompetent and don't know a thing about "Customer Service" I asked them if they could do a diagnostic and they said possibly same day but tomorrow "first thing" Car sat there for 5 days. Car owner calls and is told "we're not doing it because your boyfriend was "nasty" on phone call. What a joke..They basically laughed when I told them I would Contact Corporate. They have 1.5 Rating!
Pep boy web offer for wheel allignments for $ 200 minus $30 coupon equal $170 for wheel allignment but when i took my van for service they did not tell me any other charges and later added extra parts and labor and end up to $326.60 for the service,,i feel like it was a scam to bring customers in shop and add more charges to rip off customers also it took 6 hours to do that job kept misleading me we are working on your van even though my van was still in the parking lot.also they charged me $ 87 for a tire and charged it twice from my credit card,,which is still not removed the extra charge..its a ripp off company please be care full shop around and avoid their service,,they did not do honest service for me..
Pep Boys tires installation
I went into Pep Boys in Havertown, Pa to get my tires installations. They changed my tires and broke my sensor, did not put a Wheel nut, and tire caps back on my car. I tried to complaint to corporate and they never got back to me. The guy at the desk said it's his word against mine that he put them on and that he broke the sensor. He through a broken senor at me then he went to the back door and walked to my car and put caps on. He did nothing about the senor and the one Wheel Nut.
Desired outcome: I would like one Wheel Nut and a Senor for my tires they broke
Please don't go to pep
Do not take your car to this location, do not waste your time and money. My car had problems with the AC, I took it and they told me that it would be ready in three days. After 3 weeks I told them that I was taking it without having finished fixing it. Supposedly they ordered the same hose 4 times and received it wrong 4 times, the time was infinite. They gave me an estimate of $870 for changing two hoses and the day I went to pick it up, the initial estimate had changed to more than $1,000. In the end they charged me almost $500 for just changing one hose, telling me that it was getting cold, after a week the car started to lose cold because they never replaced the second hose even though they had it there for 3 weeks.
Nick and his team were great! Ormond Beach branch was terrific. Final price was lower than the estimate!
Had a 3:00 appointment, have been waiting over two hours for a oil change at Pep Boys on Cervantes in Pensacola, FL. When I questioned why such a long wait time with a appointment, I was told police vehicles take priority. Understood, however, why not tell customers that when appointments are made or why even make the appointment or better still have a dedicated individual for fleet/police vehicles & BTW I'm driving a "fleet" vehicle as well & no one bothered to come out & let me know what the delay was, I had to go and ask. Unacceptable at best. Update:Called customer service to voice my concern, promised someone would call me back, its been over two weeks & no one has bothered to call.
Made an appointment 2 days in advance for a state inspection and oil change. Showed up 20 minutes early today at 9:40 for my 10:00 appointment.
Was told at arrival the "machine was broken so no inspections can be done today". I said ok well let's do the oil change at least. I was then told it would be about 3+ hours for Just an oil change with an appointment because "everybody has appointments on Saturdays".
why take an appointment at all?
So many positives about this service call. I have been using the dealer mostly since I got my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5 years ago. But since COVID getting an appointment requires reservations weeks in advance. I used Pep Boys in the past with previous cars but not for some time. I've tried other local shops and wasn't impressed. I needed an oil change, went to Pep Boys website and confirmed an appointment two hours later. So two big plusses here, ease of use of the website and quick appointment. I went in waited maybe 3 minutes while another customer was serviced and they got my car in the que. Two more big plusses quick and very customer oriented reception. Free tire rotation another big point. All communications were texted and emailed, when the car started work, what was done, who did it and when it was finished. So another big point great communication on status and actions. Finally the car work was completed in a little over an hour and a half. Great, Great Great. Lastly for the services I got the price was lower than my dealer and a local service center I’ve used in the past.
If you are looking for good, SAFE tires, at an affordable price, please stay away from Pep Boys. I purchased 2 “supposedly brand new” tires for my 16 year old son’s car from here. It hadn’t even been 30 days, and one of them exploded on him while driving home the other night. I took my receipt back, along with the busted tire, but the manager, Richie, refused to compensate me, telling me that the only thing he could do was take 20% off of another “new tire”. Who in the heck would be crazy enough to purchase anything else from this place?
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Pep Boys, and I must say it was an absolute nightmare. From start to finish, everything about my visit to this auto service center was a disaster. I strongly advise against choosing Pep Boys for any of your automotive needs.
First and foremost, the customer service at Pep Boys was abysmal. The employees seemed disinterested and lacked basic knowledge about the products and services they offered. When I asked for assistance, they were dismissive and seemed more focused on their personal conversations than helping customers. It was clear that providing satisfactory service was not a priority for them.
To make matters worse, the quality of workmanship was appalling. I brought my car in for a routine oil change, and they managed to botch it up completely. Not only did they take an excessively long time to complete the job, but they also failed to tighten the oil filter properly, leading to a leak. This negligence resulted in extensive damage to my engine and required costly repairs. It was a clear display of incompetence and lack of attention to detail.
Moreover, the pricing at Pep Boys was exorbitant. They charged significantly more for their products and services compared to other reputable auto service centers in the area. It felt like they were trying to take advantage of customers by inflating prices without providing any additional value. It was a blatant rip-off and a clear example of their greed.
Lastly, the overall organization and cleanliness of the facility were subpar. The waiting area was dirty and disorganized, with outdated magazines and uncomfortable seating. The lack of cleanliness and order gave the impression that Pep Boys did not prioritize maintaining a professional environment for their customers.
In conclusion, my experience with Pep Boys was nothing short of a nightmare. The combination of terrible customer service, shoddy workmanship, inflated prices, and a disorganized facility makes me strongly advise against ever using their services. Save yourself the headache and choose a reputable auto service center that values its customers and delivers quality work. Pep Boys should be avoided at all costs.
I took my car to the Pep Boys in Orange New Jersey, because my battery was malfunctioning. After replacing the battery, I started to receive multiple error messages on my dash such as drivetrain malfunctioning, battery is not charging with turned off, the airbag light was highlighted and a multiple other messages. I took the car back and they kept my car for four days without doing anything. They claimed that they were waiting on a part to diagnose the car which is a BMW. The fourth day I sent my son to get my car, because they were not doing anything with the car, but letting it sit. They were not able to give me any type of resolution of what was wrong with the car after they replace the battery, and they refuse to take responsibility that they made matters worse. When my son picked up the car, the car was completely dead. They had to charge the battery, and one of the workers stated that someone left the lights on all night, so this is why the car was dead. This was the most horrible experience I had with a facility that fixes cars. They have made matters worse because they were not knowledgeable of what they were doing and they should have said something in the beginning That they were not experienced or equipped enough to fix BMWs. So now, it is going to cost me more money to fix their mistakes. I would not take my bicycle there to replace a wheel. That’s how bad the services!
I went here on Monday morning to get my windshield wipers linkage replaced in Savannah, Georgia. The mechanic at the front desk gave me several quotes. Initially when I arrived, he quoted something like $214 for the repair. Then he took it upon himself to start adding things to the repair to inflate the bill like three windshield wipers. I inquired about how three wipers came into this repair and he tried to explain I needed them; this was a lie because I had just purchased new ones recently. I told him to take those off because I did not request them; always ask customer first before just adding things on the bill. So, now this was about $400 totaled up. I decided not to do the repair at the time because the warranty was not paying for it. I did pay the diagnostic fee of $89. When I was getting ready to leave, I asked him to print me out an itemized quote and this time this bill came to $458 even though I had paid the diagnostic fee. I questioned him on why this bill kept inflating each time, and he was stumped just saying "This is how much it is." I told him this was not so and he was only a thief trying to rip customers off because I had previously gotten a quote total $250 from another shop. I told him he thinks people are stupid and he would be reported. He then told me he did not care. I hope they fire this guy, or he goes to jail because he is helping to bring on lawsuits against this company. He just can't go around charging people "willy nilly" prices and think they are fools. Any and every one reading this, please be careful with this ripoff company and take your vehicle elsewhere for ethical repairs. This place is garbage!
Rude treatment by manager
Inappropriate behavior to older female
Errors in service
Unapproved charge for "extended warranty"
I hope this helps a neighbor by saving them frustration. I had my car serviced at Pep Boys on Kings Canyon, in Fresno, they sent me an e mail asking me to do a review. I did the review which was not a good review. So now I got another e mail saying it could NOT BE PUBLISHED because it did not meet their qualifications. I wrote about the poor customer service which is against their policy. DUH!!

I made an appointment at Pep Boys on Kings Canyon to have front brakes put on ,my 2017 RAV 4 Toyota. The appointment was for 10 am Friday. It was made on Wednesday, 2 days earlier. I took my car there at 10 am, I called at 1:30 and they haven't even started on it yet. When I told them I had an appointment for 10 am they said basically that doesn't mean anything. There was another vehicle in front of me and they only had 1 service tech. I asked why do they take appointments then if they do not honor them? They had no answer.
