STRONG WARNING – PLEASE THINK VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE USING PERGOLA TECH UK

I would strongly advise anyone considering using Pergola Tech UK to carry out very thorough checks before paying any money or allowing work to begin.

My experience has been extremely serious and deeply disappointing. I paid for my pergola/veranda installation, yet the project was left unfinished, poorly executed and in a condition that I considered unacceptable and potentially dangerous.

The most concerning issue was the installation of the roof. The roof was installed before the rear posts had even been properly fixed to the concrete. The rear posts were left unsecured, without proper bolting/fixing to the concrete.

This was not simply a cosmetic or workmanship issue. A large pergola/veranda with a roof that has not been properly secured to its foundations can be subjected to substantial forces in strong winds. I was extremely concerned that the structure could potentially have lifted or moved in high winds, with the possibility of causing serious injury to people or damage to my property, neighbouring structures or other property.

I find it extremely difficult to understand how anyone carrying out this type of work could leave a large roof structure in this condition without first ensuring that the supporting posts were properly and securely fixed.

There were many other serious problems with the installation:

The structure was not properly sealed.
There were leaks in numerous places, with water entering the pergola during rain.
The glass sliding doors were incorrectly installed.
Various elements were incorrectly fitted or left unfinished.
The overall installation was left in an unacceptable condition.

Most importantly, these problems cannot simply be rectified with a few minor repairs. We are now in the process of completely dismantling/uninstalling the veranda and reinstalling it properly because the rear posts were left unsecured and the installation problems cannot be properly corrected without taking the structure apart again.

This means that I have had to face the additional disruption, work and expense of effectively having the entire veranda installation redone.

These are not minor finishing issues. They concern the structural security, weatherproofing and fundamental installation of the veranda.

I am particularly concerned because this was not an isolated problem in my experience. I understand that Deponti, the manufacturer, has previously been contacted regarding problems associated with this individual's installations and has had to attend on occasions to rectify or clear up problems.

I strongly recommend that anyone considering using Pergola Tech UK contacts Deponti directly before proceeding. Ask them specifically about the installer, his installation history and whether they have previously had to become involved in correcting problems with his work.

I personally would not use this installer again.

My experience has left me extremely concerned about the standard of workmanship, the way the project was handled, the lack of proper finishing and, most importantly, the potential safety implications of the installation.

In my view, this installation was a complete disaster and has resulted in us having to dismantle and reinstall the entire veranda.

If you are considering using this company, please do your own independent checks before handing over any money.

Terrible customer service. Unprofessional, not responsive. Order arrived for delivery via pergola tech and is sat with them for a week with no customer contact to notify delivery timing. Not able to select delivery date/time window. Complete black box of a process. Will not ever use this company again.

I would not have wanted to attempt to put up the Pergola myself. That roof is not that straightforward. Excellent service at a fair price. It takes three experienced guys with the right tools about two hours.
I would certainly recommend them.

Gary and Connor did a great job of delivering and installing our 3x3 pergola. They kept us informed of the day before and on the say. It was a miserable wet day but they remained cheerful throughout. They asked all the right questions to make sure it was put up exactly where we wanted, bolted down and tested. Cleared up and left everything in good order. Very happy with the result

Jon and his team were fantastic. They rebuilt and rectified my deponti product that had been badly installed. The team’s technical knowledge was excellent and they clearly know this product inside and out. After having months of problems, they sorted out my issues in 2 days. Their attention to detail was reassuring and impressive, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. Excellent team.

John & Gary were very efficient and did a great job installing the pergola we purchased from ATM Living. The pergola looks great and it was brilliant that the guys tidied and took all the packaging away with them. Looking forward to getting the screens fitted next.

I bought a pergola from this company I didn’t know the arrival date but arrived earlier than I expected, even better. They came to deliver it and they didn’t know I had purchased with installation ( just a misunderstanding ). Straightaway they offered to came back next day ( Sunday) to install. John and Kalium were great, very professional and friendly, not even the rain put them off. They had some issues as my garden has an inclination but they did their best. I totally recommend them. I love my pergola, a really nice complement to my garden.

The guys came as agreed on time,site was cleared and ready to go,Tony and Stu soon got to work and put the pergola up in no time a super efficient very pleasant, Cheers boys

The team that came & built the Gazebo did a first class very efficient job. Right from keeping us informed of their arrival (which was spot on time) to completing the build in a 2 hour window. All 3 of the team were hard working & very professional.
