Awful .. especially if you have multiple accounts .. you think you are transferring or paying out of one account and it switches to another and takes the money from there!

Complaints system a disaster

Complaints system a disaster. The only thing that works is their fake reassurance system, which sends regular emails telling you they 'take your complaint seriously'. What a lie. Complained about a failed payment going adrift to another bank (that account closed) in November and despite complaining frequently, hearing nothing bank. £800 lost because neither bank wants to make an effort. Updates were meaningless and sometimes badly worded. Branch staff couldn't see what was going on, on their own systems!

potential descrimination

At present, my accounts are frozen, and I am waiting for a call from a bank representative in security. It may take 5 days. The Branch staff helped me by releasing some funds to tide me over whilst I wait for the conversation and the release of my accounts. I am not in debt or owe any organsiation and money. I have no credit card debt. Apparently, when speaking with Customer support Catherine R today, the intimation is that I am over 60 and they are concerned about my choices and whether I am capable of making my own decisions. I believe there are acts in place that protect my right to choose.
I believe my behaviour is neither criminal nor fraudulent. There are many people making very bad decisions in this world, but I, as a debt-free individual with solid accounts has them frozen.
I now have standing orders bouncing, and hopefully just enough cash for this weekend, but next week I will have to beg Nat West for more of my money so I can live from day to day. Do not bank with NatWest, though the staff in the branch were helpful; the way the system (online team) treats customers is appalling. They have not one ounce of reasonable behaviour and will not help the customer (yes, I have funds, but cannot access them). My advice is to stay away from NatWest or to have more than one account to avoid this type of situation. I have been with this bank for 50 years, I have had loansthat I have paid back, and have had my mortgage paid off, and they are treating me like a criminal. My advice going forward is to have more than one account, so you are not in my position.

They also closed my personal account because i hadn't used it for 6 months and did not notify me beforehand . I live in Australia and they will not transfer the balance of the account to me because its not 1000 pounds or more , they have said i have to visit a branch. Stairwell clear of the thieving vagabonds

20 years ago I went to the bank for Help with Money finance control issues and was given an account where I couldn’t go overdrawn or had an overdraft facility however this controlled has been taken away from me and I was lied to all be. I’m told misinformed this whole entire company are crooks and vagabonds taking my own life seems a better option than having to deal with the customer services

I am presently surprised

I am editing my review because I think I was a bit hastily leaving feedback for a company that I did not know obviously I was transferred over from Sainsbury’s so it was a bit of a hiccup to start with but can I say to now that NatWest have actually been very surprisingly nice and helping me as much as they can I’ve got the reverse back from the interest they charged me because they didn’t take out the direct debit because obviously all the account numbers have been changed over they’re helping me with the section 75 that I’ve already had ongoing with a mobility company who are threatening me with phone calls and letters so I can say so far and pleasantly surprised

DO NOT USE FOR BUSINESS BANK EITHER!

I recently transferred my business account across - worst decision ever - I refuse to use biometrics, unfortunately, this was not made clear in any of their documentation as I thought I had the option of the card reader - I've been informed today that they solely only use the biometrics via the app - so that's that - I am having to remove my business bank accounts from them - the customer service from their team was also non-existent. Terrible bank.

Nat West

I’ve been a NatWest customer nearly 40 years - excellent bank that has prevented fraudulent activity on my account on a number of occasions. Fair and honest customer support. Great App.
I can’t fault them.

Awful Biometrics, designed by a clumsy fool

Awful, the biometrics functionality barely works and you're limited in what you can do with your account if you don't use it. But, it gets worse.

If it's not working you can disable FaceID. But, to disable FaceID you have to use...FaceID.

You can't force someone to use something that is clearly inconsistent and take functionality away at the same time. My Premier Account, its being moved to HSBC.

I have been with NatWest for around 9…

I have been with NatWest for around 9 years now and love how I can still go into the branch to talk to someone in person of and when I need to.
My fiancé had to open his own bank account for his job and decided to join NatWest like me.
The staff are really friendly and helpful and being able to go into the branch tothe counter services is really helpful as sometimes I can reach my daily limit both online and on my app, but I knowthat I can go into the branch and takey money out using the counter services in branch if I need to.

Can't transfer or use my own money…

Can't transfer or use my own money because Natwest want overly invasive Biometrics setup? Absolutely not. No other banking app requires this and basic fingerprints/biometrics setup on your phone are sufficient enough for them. Why the hell should I have to give them MORE personal data just to access my own money? Have requested an account switch to another bank. Absolutely nonsense from Natwest.

Excellent Customer Services Natwest Bereavement

I have just had to make a difficult call to the bereavement team regarding my late dad's finances back to 2018. Having explained my challenge, a very, very kind lady called Clare has spent 43 minutes exploring all avenues on how to resolve an issue for me. Very knowledgeable, drilling down into different areas to locate and select pieces of information to piece together and complete a picture. I am so very grateful and appreciative of her help today.

Natwest nasty money grabbing bank…

Booked a reservation using my Natwest debit card, was hit with a hidden 2.75% transaction fee!!
Three times phoned Natwest customer complaints, they simply would not accept they had charged me this fee as a middleman-kept blaming other 3rd parties involved and wasting my time in the process, absolutely disgusting behaviour.
Well Natwest, you have lost all my business-hope your fee compensates for loosing my lifetime business with you.
Nasty money grabbing bank .

Biometric check does not work!!!

The new biometric check at Natwest does not work. Its an idiotic idea and a great example of Artificial Stupidity. Some nerdy programmer came up with what they thought was a great idea by checking peoples photos but of course peoples faces do not always remain exactly the same And they don't seem to have realised that . It Often fails and then they refuse to let you pay out your own money under any circumstances. Monstrous incompetence!!!

NatWest App is just the most useless…

NatWest App is just the most useless app ever, it never works for me, I can not get it to approve anything when I'm buying. Whatever I'm buying it usually times out so I have to start again, it's a good job I have PayPal linked to my account, PayPal is so simple every single time to pay for something from the same NatWest account I was trying to get to pay in the first place. AHHHHHHHH it shouldn't have to be this difficult.

Worst bank un the uk for account application

Worst bank un the uk for current accounts. I attempted to open a current account on 2 occasions. Both times after sending my proof of ID to there nominated company. I waited over a week with no confirmation of them receiving it and no confirmation of an account being opened or denied. After that I contacted them and told them to stick the application up there ass. And opened an account with Nationwide which was up and running in less than 36 hours.
