Very poor rates: Mexican peso at 8.3 MXN to the AUD. Even the banks offer better rates of around 10.8 MXN to AUD. Don't waste your time or money - order online early from other exchange dealers to get the best rate.

I couldn’t believe until I got home when I did exchange rates on line, I paid $297 for 1,200 Norwegian krona, Crown currency exchange rate was 4.03 but online current exchange rate I should have got 2,021 krona for $300 PayPal exchange rate this morning for my hotel booking was 6.3583
According to on line conversions, 1,200 krona should have cost me $178, so the “no fee, no commission” claim doesn’t ring true, it cost me $120 for something !!

My experience with this exchange in car and fiddle mall was not good
I exchanged 200 Canadian to AUD
What I got in return was 176
Usually for 100 CDN you get 125 AUD
I was told that no way u can cancel the transaction that it is in the receipt
Was not given all information

I would give Fremantle Crown Exchange a 0 out of 5 if I could. I changed 1000 AUD for IDR and the rate was well under what I would have got from the bank, let alone the rate offered at the Indonesian official money exchangers. In fact, I lost a total of 100 AUD using them which I only find out once I was in Indonesia and about to pay the hotel bill. I returned to confront them about it and they advised that the rate they offered me then was in fact higher than today's rate - they're offering around 9 million IDR for 1000 AUD bearing in mind that the actual rate today is over 11 million IDR! At Crown Exchange rate, that's a loss of 200 AUD to anyone using them today. It is a blatant rip off and what is worse is that it is happening in Australia under the guise of a genuine business who are still allowed to operate. I have read many negative reviews of Crown Exchange businesses all over Australia and I would NEVER recommend anyone use them.

Called Harbour Town Gold Coast store on Saturday afternoon re my email enquiry for exchange that was as yet unanswered. During this call i was given a rate initially that was much lower than even Travelex so I asked for his best price. He referred to someone else (assume store manager). Price came back to me that I was satisfied with, told him I would be there Monday to collect and he said no probs. When I get to the store I’m served by a lady who was nice but advised me they couldn’t sell it to me at that rate (despite the exchange rate being higher than when I called on Saturday). Her manager (an extremely rude and obnoxious American lady) who essentially called me dumb for not already knowing the rate he gave me expired on Saturday and also told me he should never have given me that rate. I told her none of that is my problem, he isn’t my employee, she doesn’t understand customer service at all.
Every oversea trip I have ever done I have purchased currency from this or other Crown outlets. I will be sure to share this experience with friends and family, I will never deal with them again.
If her behaviour is driven by KPi’s linked to the biggest difference in rate achieved in Crowns favour vs making a sale and some profit, or a zero sale due to customers walking out, then the business owners need to have a hard look at their policy and don’t forget to sack the rudiest retail worker I think I have ever had to experience.

We were charged $86 aud in fees for exchanging $300 aud into Vnd 07/02/2026 Aspley branch, nearly a third in fees disgraceful operator and a total ripoff

Never again - i walked up knowing the rate and was charged 15c in the dollar ( below the current rate ) and to tell me there was a massive overnight hit - rubbish.
I know they need to make something but really that is tantamount to theft.
Pays not to leave things until the last minute and shop around for a way better exchange rate.

We always go to Crown Currency Harbour Town - Never Again.... after today VietnamDng even at Travelex was much better priced 15,000,000 VD for $1,000 AU online and Crown only gave 13,000,000??? Online converter says 18,000,000 VD for every AU$1000. We lost 30% of our funds.

Terrible Rates and they seem to assess customer before deciding what rates to give. No boards.
Some currencies quoted at 45% with even USD at 10%.
Diabolical rates and they force their staff to sell this and suggest they develop meaningless rapport.
False advertising also with up to $50k on offer supposedly but Max they get is what they bought or sold as fine print. Criminal.

Yesterday I exchanged AUD $105 into KHR. After completion I checked the exchange rate and discovered that I received 150,000 KHR instead of 258,000 KHR which was the day rate at other sites.
Upon returning to the counter I wanted to exchange them back and take the loss. I was offered AUD $ 40 for the buy back! EXCUSE me but this is pure theft. Never again going back to Crown.

A real rip-off today from Crown FX. NZD/AUD bank rate is 114; Travelex 108.61; Crown 104. I've used them in the past (not often), but today the rate offered shocked me. Never again!

Shame on me for not checking elsewhere. Absolute rip off. Don’t go near the store at Warringah mall. Check out the other stores out they were 10% better. The manager is a plonker.

Seniors Beware - Very poor exchange rates in Penrith store, always obtain quote first in writing or they will provide terrible exchange rates in person. In my experience was offered 20% less than other currency exchangers in same area

Absolute rip off rates! Stay away from these crooks. My bad for not comparing rates ahead, cost me $300 extra for exchanging €1550

The ladies at Harbourtown Crown Currency were super friendly and efficient providing quotes and organizing currency exchange with the best rates. Their helpful advice and tips on paying and exchanging made dealing with Crown an enjoyable experience. Thoroughly recommend their service no need to spend time looking elsewhere again.

Pitiful customer service and team members unsure of payment methods and advised verbally and via email however when collecting order from Carindale kiosk this was not accepted. Follow up email sent and no response. Went to Travelex and great service

Used these (Macquarie Park) for years and used to always find them having good rates.
Went today to see the rate to sell 400 euro and was told I would get 370 in ozzie dollars. Wtf. When I questioned it I was told the ossie dollar is very strong.
I said - not catching me... strong my ass.
Needless.to say I will.nevere be going back there to be served by Tony again.

Absolute crooks. Even ignoring the fact that I was told a higher exchange rate before getting cash out. I was advised that it's hard to get Yuan in China "due to it being hard to get cash there coz the govt is clamping down on cash etc" - that was Far from the truth and the exchange rates were far better in China. Even the banks in Australia offered a better rate. Ripped off by $80aud for exchanging $500!
