We shopped for months before we decided on Peterson. We're so happy we didn't settle for anything else. The logs are so realistic and the quality is top of line!

We love our log set we’ve had almost a year now. I was happy to see this reminder to review pop up in my email only after we’ve had some time to use and enjoy our purchase. We had our log set professionally installed by a plumber who previously worked for a gas log company on their installs. He was really impressed with the set and the burner stating it was probably the nicest he’s ever installed! We and our guests all agree. We added black lava rock to cover sand and bright burning faux embers below the logs. We get to enjoy this vented set even more with the remote start. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for the ambiance of a real fire with a classic look and ease of use. Thank you!

I have installed RH Peterson gas logs for over 15 years and you will not find a better gas log on the market. I look forward to working with RH Peterson in the future.

Logs are great. Only problem is they are creating a lot of soot. I reached out to customer service and they instructed me to put the media in the pan only. We’ll see if that helps this year, but a little skeptical the soothing problem will go away.

Peterson unvented gas logs are the best I have owned. I installed one in each of our fireplaces carefully following the detailed instructions which include required dimensions. After connecting the supplied flex hose to the existing 1/2" gas supply line, formerly used for gas log starter, setup could not have been easier. Just install the supplied batteries, flip on the toggle switch, turn on gas, and hold the start buttons on the supplied remote control. It took a couple attempts to flush out the air, then the autopilot lights the pilot and burners. We used the first unit all last winter to heat our living room in the evening before bedtime. After about 30 minutes the whole house was warm. If you are a heavy user like we are, the 4-AA batteries will need to be replaced after about 9 months which does require a little skill. The receiver battery box is attached with velcro behind the logs for easy removal. Just be careful not to disconnect any of the cables. The first time I replaced the batteries one of the cables detached as described in the troubleshooting section. It was easy to reconnect by simply sliding the socket over the pins as illustrated in the manual.

Value of product is only fair. Flame does not burn clean through gas regulator and sand base. It should be a bluish flame but is yellow.

I purchased the oak logs and they look beautiful in my fireplace. It looks so much better than the old gas logs I had before. The blaze is so much nicer but don’t know yet how well it will heat since I only got it installed two weeks ago and it has been in the 90s here in Missouri. So far I am 100% satisfied!!

I might be best characterized as a cranky old man. I’m a retired engineer and very critical of poorly designed products and cryptic instructions. I researched just about every product on the market and in the end I chose Peterson based on their quality and cost. This is an excellent gas fireplace system. Everything I needed was in the boxes and it all arrived in perfect condition. The instructions were clear with good illustrations and installation was easy. Now our living room is toasty warm on those cold winter evenings. We are very happy and highly recommend Peterson.

The request for this review was just received, though I repaired the fireplace some months ago. I do not recall the exact part numbers.
I had an old valve that finally gave up the ghost. So, I purchased a new burner and manual valve to make the fireplace safer. I am quite pleased with the products purchased and would highly recommend them. The parts were easy to install and the fireplace is up to date and working as it should.

The technical people helped me understand How a vent free set of logs would work in my application. They help me choose the right size and type ha ha only recommend a product and get the remote control with the variable flame feature. Super convenient adjustable puts out a lot of heat and is pretty to look at

Had Peterson Firelogs io our prior home for 20+ years and enjoyed them every time we turned it on - which was quite often in the Pennsylvania winters. Moved to a new home in SC which had another brand log-set and one of our first home improvements was to replace it with another Peterson Logset. I was concerned that we were switching from natural gas to propane but in the end, no worries - the fire is as robust as ever and maybe even better, But then the technology has improved too. Peterson is our only choice.

My fireplace is beautiful. I love the look with the amber in front. It looks so real.
