Just reading these reviews I think…

Just reading these reviews I think maybe I got off lightly anyway here goes.

Peugeot 508 went in for 60K service told me couldn’t do timing belt as one they had ordered for it wouldn’t fit this engine and it would have to be brought back in would take 2 hours.

Took it back and waited 2 hours became 3 1/2 hours anyway it came out. Got onto fast dual carriageway loss of power engine screaming and warning message serious engine problem identified. Limped back on low power to dealer told them what happened. Went for lunch came back and told it was ready set off again hadn’t done a mile when warning lights on and engine screaming again. It went back again somewhere in this they admitted it had problems with engine screaming after they changed belt but sent it out anyway. Declared it needed part and Peugeot had no stock anywhere so parts on back order no estimate.

Asked for courtesy car no sales car no. Had to have a have a hire car for a month because Peugeot had no parts to support a 23 car just two years old and a hire car had to paid for.

When I eventually went to pick it up I insisted I road tested it before I agreed it was fixed no apology in fact very rude. Bearing in mind they broke it a courtesy car should have been provided or a sales car totally ridiculous to expect a customer to shell out for a months car hire because parts not available for a 2 year old car that the dealer in fact took in working and broke carrying out a belt replacement.

ABSOLUTELY DIRE Peugeot experience

ABSOLUTELY DIRE experience with Peugeot. If I could score them a minus star I would! My 3008 has a factory recall on it due to the Cam Belt and I was never notified by Peugeot. The car broke down, caused by the Cam Belt, causing other engine issues. This was diagnosed by our local garage 5 weeks ago. We subsequently found out about the recall. It will cost me more than £4k to fix! I have since been left without a car which has made life extremely difficult. We reached out to Peugeot to assist and Peugeot have been beyond awful!! Despicable customer service! They don’t want to know, they don’t care and do not want to help, despite it being them who have used poor quality parts in 3008 cars. BEWARE, if you have these cars as this could end up being you! I will never buy a Peugeot again in my life and recommend you don’t either!

Useless Peugeot dealers

Are all Peugeot dealers as bad as the ones in North East England?
Tried to book my 1yr old 408 GT in to get the rubbish electrics fixed.
Arnold Clark didn't answer both of my calls (no real surprise there)
Sherwoods in Gateshead were busy when I called but said to leave a message and they'll call me back. After over a month I'm still waiting.
Simon Bailes in Northallerton finally returned my call after over 4 hours.
And Allingtons in Ashington at 5pm today (after eventually returning my Friday afternoon phone call) told me that if their mechanics couldn't find the faults they'd charge me. On a c.£30k car that's only one year old? I don't think so.
So I've given up. Will put up with all dogs dinner of electricals and begin the countdown till when I can get rid of it.

Peugeot customer care deserves a minus…

Peugeot customer care deserves a minus score but there is no option. “Customer care “ is meant to make you feel the big companies care about their customers.
My story!(if you can be bothered to read it)
Brought a Peugeot 3008 1.2 petrol automatic. Lovely car . Found out it had a wet timing belt ( thought they were only on Fords) called local dealer who told me 6 years or 60,000 miles.
Mine was coming up 6 years 37,000 , so booked in to get it changed, got it changed, while collecting car, another customer was talking about the wet belt and also a oil pick up filter, I asked if my filter had been done, was to told no as they don’t remove the sump to do the belt, but it should be ok unless you get a red engine warning on the dashboard.
I left, 7 miles down the road red engine warning came up. I stopped, eventually got in touch with dealer who said bring it back the next day.
Brought car back to them showing yellow engine warning and they checked the car and the filter was blocked and they said they cleared the blockage.
2 months later engine goes bang. AA said it was the timing belt. Got it back to Peugeot dealer, they had a look and said needed a new engine, I’m not happy especially when I find out it’s over £7500 supply and fit . They suggested calling customer care see if they could look into it. And maybe adjust the price.should take 3-5 days for response.
Called customer who passed it to a case handler.
Called after 5 working days but handler not there. Called after 10 working days was told handler very busy, he will call me. After fifteen working days I was contacted by dealership to be told they hadn’t heard anything and they have been told they are closing permanently at end of the month and require the car removed.
Called customer care again and told handler busy so asked to speak to the manager , I was put through to someone who didn’t acknowledge who he was, but turned out to be the case handler, who asked if the car had full service history, I said yes but what has that got to do with a suspect broken timing belt or blocked filter. Then he told me the car was over 6 years old and there was nothing he could do. He did apologise for that but that was it.
So much for “ customer care “

Just can’t believe Peugeot only put a 6 year life span on their engines .
The stellantis dealership front counter staff were helpful , considerate , sympathetic including service department who advised me to try customer care and sales department who helped sort out getting the car into dealership when the car was left on the road outside by the recovery vehicle on a Saturday.
Mechanic side I won’t judge as I thought when you take the car to the dealership they know what to do and what to look for.
But obviously I was wrong or maybe they only do what the Peugeot computer tells them to do.
This is my rant and please take care when buying a car from Peugeot and hope you don’t have to speak to Peugeot customer care.

e208 issue and terrible customer care

On board charger in e208 stopped working (seems to be a well known issue!).

Peugeot replacement part was on back order and they were unable to even estimate when it would come in.

Been trying to speak to the customer care team, but all that happens is someone takes my details and says I'll be contacted then you never are. Escalated the issue and was placed on an 'Urgent Response ' list... 2 weeks later still no contact. Not sure what Peugeot define as urgent!

DO NOT BUY PEUGEOT No interest in Helping Customers

I had a Peugeot 508 hybrid which experienced issues with the on board charger & traction battery just months after the warranty expired, quoted £4k to replace these items by Evans Halshaw Peugeot Hull who recommended that I speak to Peugeot Uk to see if they would contribute to the repair considering I'd only bought the car 12 months before. They took twice as long as they said they would to tell me that they would not assist in any way, when I went back to them the query again asking for more technical info to rule out another potential issue with the car's 12v battery they bluntly stated they have answered my query once and don't have to speak to me again. Poor quality cars that break months after warranty expiration and then unhelpful and poor customer service when you need assistance, I would not consider any Peugeot car again & advise anyone to avoid them 100%

Mugged by Peugeot

My partner and I are both senior citizens. We bought a Peugeot 308 last year. It was only 4 years old with only 13,800 miles on the clock. We paid £13,600, which was a lot for us. We hoped such a new car with such low mileage would see us well into retirement. Just over one year later, having only put 725 miles on the clock, the car began failing to start. Neither the dealership nor Peugeot technical experts abroad could diagnose the problem, let alone fix it. So the car became not fit for purpose. The dealer would not give us a like for like replacement or our money back with a fair reduction for the one year of ownership. All we were offered was £8500 if we bought a further vehicle from them in part-exchange, losing £5k on what we paid for the Peugeot. Further proof that the car was not fit for purpose was that the dealer effectively wrote it off – sending it to an auction company because it could not be fixed and sold to the public. We had bought in good faith a modern vehicle, not a disposable vape. The car had an inherent fault and should not have been written off after only 4 years and 14,000 miles. However, even though we had bought a complete “lemon” of a vehicle, Peugeot UK showed no interest in helping us and basically told us to go away. I would never go near this company again.

Peugeot – no support for a faulty new vehicle

I took delivery of a brand-new Peugeot in August 2025 (leased via Select Leasing). From day one the car has been faulty – it will not charge beyond 40%.

The local Peugeot dealer confirmed the problem but told me no loan car was available while it was being investigated. I then lodged a formal complaint with Peugeot directly, only to receive a phone call from Peugeot UK advising that they also could not provide a loan car and would not offer any compensation, despite the fact the vehicle cannot be used to its full potential for a period of 2 weeks.

For a manufacturer of Peugeot’s size, this response is extremely poor. A new vehicle should be fit for purpose, and when it is not, customers should not be left stranded without support.

Prospective buyers should be aware: if your Peugeot develops a fault, you may find both the dealer and Peugeot UK unwilling to provide even the most basic customer care.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

2024 E3008 owner here. Less than 7k miles makes noise when driving. Problem with driveshaft/washer. As much as I love the car, dealing with the Customer Care UK team has put me off ever having another Peugeot. Repeatedly lied to, told I would receive call backs, call every day for the case worker not to be available, told there is no complaints procedure other than speaking to allocated caseworker who will not take calls or call back. Still waiting for the promised 24 hour manager call back a week later to later be told that only the case worker can escalate to manager and then manager will call back ‘if they have time’. Unable to have it allocated to another caseworker despite requests. Good luck if your case is referred to Nino Z. Sadly due to multiple problems with their vehicles, approved repair garages are extremely busy and customer care have a ‘huge huge backlog’ so probably won’t come back to you!

Hugely disappointed with customer care and lost complete faith. Knowing of all the problems this brand is having, I’m considering flogging my car as soon as it’s fixed. Never had these problems with my Renault's or Vauxhalls.

Please please provide some training to your customer care team on customer care!

Peugeot Info System rubbish.

Got notification that my 2023 Peugeot Rifter info system had an update. Followed instructions as per before. Updated on car successfully then plugged my phone in and now can't get Google maps for navigation on screen. Got calls and music from phone but no maps.
Reset information system back to factory settings and now get everything again. What's the point of updates.

Terrible Customer Care

My car went in for various repairs last march, everything was done apart from a repair on a faulty seat where the stitching was giving way. It was made clear from the on start and in writing that a repair would be fine. After the 7th visit to the repair garage Peugeot customer care realised they could not obtain the correct seat cover and was no longer available

The 8th visit they carried out the repair and to add insult the garage said that I had demanded the new cover. Mariam from customer care had failed to pass on the email to the garage.

About the 5th visit to the garage I was starting to get a bit frustrated as each visit was an hour's drive there, 1 hour onsite and an hour back so you can understand my frustration. The fuel used for all the visits wasn't nessecarily the problem, it was my time being wasted.

Khatia M was allocated to the case. The email response from Khatia and the discussions that took place was lacked understanding, empathy, rude, abrupt and blatantly lied when I asked for a manager. I was told manager would not want to talk to me and she is a manager which clearly wasn't the case.

I raised complaint regarding Khatia and requested a phone call from a manager, this was back in March and I'm still waiting.

One customer care agent should have dealt with this case but I must have dealt with at least five. Certainly Mariam and Khatia requires customer training regarding soft skills. Absolutely terrible experience as it was but was amplified by the poor customer service provided.

No follow up from Peugeot regarding the complaint or the issue as a whole...not so much as a courtesy call from a manager at the end to apologise.

Absolutely terrible service, this has put me off for life and my next car will not be a Peugeot.

Awful cars and customer care

Most cars have 3-7 years warranty. Didn’t realise I had one year only.
Bought from snows Basingstoke, barely two years with mot & services from Wokingham Peugeot.

Randomly out of the blue engine warning light, told its one minute a chain witching engine next head gasket.
I asked for courtesy car nothing.
Get told start work straight away instead say waiting for “good will”.

4 days later not even started work only just ordered the parts told be two weeks, now today since mid April told just got parts be another two weeks ( this Wokingham Peugeot).

Call head office said can’t keep laying for rentals need courtesy as Wokingham say now be mid June. They said can’t help out of 12 months. Really are a useless company. I understand if was tyres or seats but engine fault after buying from Peugeot.

Worst customer service, product and help I have ever had from a car dealership. This is Peugeot 5008 - Do not buy these cars, they don’t last and workers in most of these car dealerships are useless teens to incompetent adults.

Avoid this company and anything tied to Peugeot as they have no care for customers and shortest warranty for a reason.

Peugeot UK NO customer care

Peugeot UK customer care
Do not understand what customer care is total waste of time which lets down the Peugeot franchises.
The service I get from my local Peugeot dealer Charters is exceptional, one of the reasons I purchased a brand new 508.
Problems arose when renewing the ongoing connected services so had to get Customer care uk involved, this happened last year and again this year. 6 weeks and still no resolution.
Thank you Peugeot customer care but this will probably be the last Peugeot I will buy.

Finally rid of Peugeot.

This will be my final review of Peugeot/ Stellantis UK. Thanks to Motability my problem's have been solved - the Peugeot 3008 I had has gone (the car was fantastic and I shall miss it!), but due to the attitude and shocking Customer Care I received from Peugeot UK, I now have a new vehicle from a different manufacturer! It is Peugeot/Stellantis UK's shocking Customer Care that lets them down - I'll NEVER deal with them again! Mr F.

Only clicking 1 star as cant do zero

Only clicking 1 star as cant do zero!

Car had urgent safety recall, letter received from the Coventry address saying contact local dealer for replacement of wet belt on my 2018 3008. Anyhow, booked it in for 18th Feb, dealer didn't do the recall job and 18 days later, timing belt began to fall apart, has damaged the engine and caused loss of brakes, steering and cam shaft issue, EML came on red instantly whilst driving in a city centre! Called Peugeot to be told that they wouldn't cover replacement in it's recall? Letter clearly states it would of been replaced due to safety and as per its letter, risk of fatality to car occupants or fellow road users!!! Customer care department couldn't care less and literally repeat their script and don't help rectify anything and each time, put the phone down, I have called, emailed, and written via a solicitor and ombudsman now in the hope of some help as quite frankly I feel massively let down right now!

Wouldn't ever recommend purchase of one ever again! Go drive a different make!

DO NOT BUY PEUGEOT RUBBISH

After 8 weeks of chasing Peugeot technical the app finally worked but then other issues with the app occurred which are still ongoing
Very poor customer service, do not think one jot about the customer other than spend your hard earned money on our cars and get nothing back!!
Retailer was poor with very quick handover and car not being valeted properly with manufacturers marks over the windows.
Will certainly not be buying Peugeot again! Cannot wait to get rid of it!!

Truly appalling customer service

Truly appalling customer service. Car has been fine, mostly, so far although they did deliver it with an error on the dashboard related to airbags and pre-tensioners. My local dealership are unable to look at it for another 6 weeks!! Have to hope the fault isn't a serious one. If I am in a collision will the airbags actually work? Who knows? Peugeot certainly don't seem to.
Don't even bother downloading the app - a total waste of time and energy. Anything of any use in it - monitoring energy use, remote control of charging etc - you have to fork out £109 a year to have.
Tried downloading the map and OS updates as they suggest in the app but, no, it doesn't work for my brand new vehicle apparently!
When I asked for help with the app all of the reply emails came in Ukrainian for some reason.
The worst auto customer care I have ever come across. They always tell you how sorry they are but do nothing to fix anything.
