We sent our young Great Dane for a short board and training stint while we were away on our summer travels. Not only was he in excellent care but the results from his training have been very positive. We received daily updates on how he was doing and how his training was going but the real standout has been the aftercare. Once we returned and had Dallas back were sent a detailed file on what to expect and how to further continue the work he has put in. This contained plenty of video walk throughs and even periodic check ins to help answer any questions or address potential issues. A brilliant service and I will certainly use again.

Phoenix are Premier League at what they do, in more ways than one. We had some very specific requirements. We wanted extra security, already have one dog who is more like our ‘fur baby” and very placid as well as a cat. We also have a a second home and spend quite a lot of time there and occasionally will take all pets with us. There’s also a number of people that have to come to the house. So lots of dynamics to manage when you’re bringing security dogs into the your home as well as wanting them to be part of the family. Louis and his team took a lot of time to understand our requirements and make sure that once they’d found the right dogs for us, that they were integrated into out lives and home in a way that was manageable for us, the pets we already had and of course our new family members. Nothing was too much trouble and not just up to handover. They did lots of follow up work and are always available to handle any question we have and provide ongoing support/ training (mainly for us tbf). We are very happy and would 100% recommend them to anyone.

Following a recommendation, we didn’t know really what to expect when contacting Louis at Phoenix re our young friendly but “pulley” and very reactive puppy Bryn. Any fears were removed from our first contact and clear communication was always given throughout training with the focus on “what is best for the dog and ensuring he is confident, well engaged and happy”.

The team , Louis, Luke and Matt in our case, were exceptional from the initial evaluation, which raised issues that we had never considered or seen. Under no pressure we extended the initial training and have seen an exceptional improvement in walking, i.e., leash pressure and to heel, as well as confidence.

The “progress”, as Luke reiterated, is more a journey for US than the dog – and how right he is! Taking on board what they outlined in the handover videos and general regular updates we are seeing real progress. Communication was clear, articulate and reasoned throughout and no pressure. They are a great group and always available - fact#

Would 100% recommend and will use again no doubt

Louis, Luke and the Team have been wonderful. When trusting someone with your pride and joy you really want that reassurance you are getting the best and that’s exactly what they deliver.

Our boy also uses them for boarding and loves it!

During 2024 I was hit with physical problems regarding hips and spine. I had just taken on board a new labrador puppy who is a very excitable dog. Training him became impossible because of my pain, tiredness and physical constraints. I heard about Pheonix Trained Dogs through a friend, they came highly recommended, So I phoned Louis and explained our issue. He immediately understood the situation and took Oscar on board. The difference is remarkable. I now have a dog who is a joy to be with. We have bonded in a way I didn't think would be possible.
It is all down to Louis and his team. Oscar is now under control, walks impeccably to heel, doesn't pull on the lead, sits, recalls when commanded to do so. He is a much calmer dog, behaves well in shops, walks through when meeting other dogs. The list goes on. I now get eye to eye contact with him which I never had before. It was a nightmare. I've had 4 labradors previously and never had problems training them so I was rather embarrassed asking Louis to help, but I am so, so pleased I did. If I hadn't I'm not sure I would still have Oscar, I would have given up.
Oscar developed heart issues last Autumn, unfortunately for Louis, they were discovered just as he was about to take him on board. It wasn't a problem. They monitored Oscar and as soon as there was an issue it was dealt with immediately, even trips to SCVS. Throughout the whole residential training process I was always informed of progress. Daily videos provided of Oscar having play breaks with other dogs so I knew he was happy and training ones showing me his progress whilst also showing me how to follow through when he came home. Handover was in several stages so I wasn't just handed a dog back with a list of instructions at the end. Rather, there were several meetings in different environments, so I was trained up myself to ensure consistency of approach. When Oscar finally came back, Louis followed through to check on progress, if there were issues he told me how to deal with them.
I've really enjoyed the whole experience, the team are so nice to deal with, sympathetic and understanding. I feel they have bent over backwards for me because of my back issues, but I'm sure they ensure no dog goes back to their owners without meeting the goals. It's been a very personal, happy experience which I wouldn't have had without their hard work and efforts. Worth every penny. I'm so, so happy with Oscar now, I never believed we would ever have the relationship we now do. Thank you all so much.

Phoenix helped me source and buy my first dog, a chow chow - and they did an amazing job, from the first message to still daily contact now seeing how my dog is and providing any help that I need whenever

Phoenix really are the best!

We have been sending our Maltipoo Bleu to Phoenix regularly for a year or so now and he absolutely loves it. They have helped with his lead walking and his reactivity and we can really see a huge difference. We have a new pup Maltipoo who we will also be sending to Phoenix as we trust them so much to take care of our boys and teach them everything they need to know!

Phoenix were amazing, we can’t recommend them enough!

We were initially cautious about sending our dog away to be trained, as he had never been away from home. Not only did Phoenix take excellent care of him, but they stayed in constant contact sending photos/videos every day alongside updates of his progress! Tiny now walks like a dream on a lead, and will be heading back down to board for a week this summer.

I was thoroughly impressed with the level of knowledge and professionalism led by Louis and his team. I was standoff ish when it came to getting value to money when it came to using them for training and if I’m honest I am so glad that my partner and I took the risk to reach out and get the ball rolling, we’ve learnt so much in terms of being better dog owners also, the whole experience from start to finish has been exceptional, so much so that we’ve decided to book our little one into home boarding with their joint additional training package, the directors package is well worth it and we couldn’t recommend these guys enough, thanks for all your amazing work with Tia guys it’s been life changing!

My 2-year-old labradoodle, who struggled with anxiety, spent a few weeks with Louis and his team working on lead pulling and reactivity. In that short time, he returned an almost different dog, and I gained the confidence and knowledge to continue the training at home. I have worked with Louis and the Phoenix team for the past year and do not have a bad word to say about them. All dogs we have encountered have been obedient, well trained and a pleasure to be around. Having met over 20 dogs of theirs and their clients, you can see the great care and effort the team put in towards their job. The team are very professional and I would recommend their services for anyone looking for a dog trainer.

My partner and I were looking for a Great Dane puppy and contacted Phoenix to help source us exactly what we wanted and train it for us. Not only did they find exactly what we were looking for but the training he has had is amazing, he is everything we wanted and more!

We have a very impulse driven German shepherd. We tried puppy training ourselves and local trainers too. However, we could not get him to control his impulse and knew this would be an issue when he got older (and stronger!). Phoenix were incredible. They assessed him thoroughly and let us know exactly what was needed and our options. One option was residential training - we went for it and are so happy we did. They have transformed our dog into the most incredible and well behaved dog we could ever wish for. They have also equipped us with the skills, and confidence, to maintain their hard work. Their attention to detail is incredible and each day we had updates with progress reports and how to videos. We can take our boy anywhere with us now and are very proud of him too. Every time we go to a restaurant with him (as they have taught him to be neutral around other dogs and not react) we get comments about how well behaved he is. His lead walking is impeccable! They truly are a wonderful team - each and every one of them - led by Louis. The team clearly share his passion for the work they do and the results they deliver to the owner, but most importantly, the dog. The service provided and the dedication and attention to detail underpins the phenomenal results. We saved a lot of time, and avoided a lot of frustration and heartache, by putting our trust into Phoenix. I am so glad we did. And so is our GSD!!!
