Unsafe situation
We booked a PickMe from a quite crowded tuktuk spot in Kandy. The driver accepted the tour quickly but the tuktuk with the licenceplate we booked was standing there, empty. The app informed us that the driver was there (as the tuktuk was) and we would have to pay a fee to cancel the booking. We were aggresively approached by many other drivers, while we waited for “our” driver to appear, or cancel the trip. We, two women, waited for nearly 20 minutes, in the evening. This felt very unsafe. I loudly claimed that I would be reporting the situation and then, finally, the driver cancelled the trip, so we could book another driver, without getting hustled for the fee. I know this is about hustling money from us, but we felt very unsafe with the aggressive drivers, while we had to stand there and wait at the tuktuk we ordered.

1/ A friend booked the taxi. Intial estimate was 31 km Rs. 3300, a mini
2/ Before starting he wants cash and not card
3/ Journey starts and immediately says can you cancel and pay cash to him, so that he dosent pay 40% to pick me. Pay on the screen shot. Refused
4/ Kept insisting on taking highway saying, you can claim. None of his business, Refused
5/ Ending the price is Rs 4100 and 39km s. Obviously the location didn't move . When questioned, says he has nothing to do with it, says PICK ME does it.
6/ When given Rs. 4500, he gives 200 back saying no change conveniently. Client somehow finds cash to settle Rs. 4100

I've booked a ride on 23rd august 2023 for my brother, through the "for a friend" option. And in the app the location was correct. A TUK rider named Dayan (AAS 2674) accepted the trip and in the app he was 6 minutes away. When the rider called my brother he has told that he's in Battaramulla. So we asked him to cancel the ride as he's far away.. but he didnt. And when i called him he scolded me that who am i to call him and he has no option to cancel it..he isn't even aware that there's an option to book rides for a friend. so i said then okay i'll do it. and again he has called my brother and scolded him as well.
and then he started the trip, ended the trip changed the drop location to another address and it has entered as i've paid in cash as well.. how is that even possible.
When i call the customer care to lodge a complaint, they just ignored it and said that it's my fault that i've entered the drop location wrong. But i wanted to lodge a complaint about the rider because he scolded me with harsh words. but again they were pointing at me about a wrong location.. I've all the screenshots and records of the whole booking .and the customer support was like okay our team will get back to you..but no complaints lodged, no response

I’ve never experienced so many issues with a taxi app. My partner and I used it whilst travelling in Sri Lanka as the prices were very reasonable but we had nothing but issues and every ride we took felt like a battle. We had drivers cancel on us without reason. We had drivers try and scam us out of more money. One drivers phone died during our trip so he couldn’t end the trip when we reached our destination, so he tried to get us to cancel the trip on our side and pay in cash. We explained we couldn’t do this as we didn’t have any cash on us which is why we selected card payment before booking the trip. We waited for a few minutes but his phone ‘wouldn’t charge’ even though we saw him switch it on and off again. He then told us he would end the ride when his phone came back on. We then saw on the PickMe map him driving around town to bump the price up before ending the trip so it cost us nearly double. Another driver purposely took a longer rout so we had to pay more. Another driver tried to tell us the price from one place to another was wrong on the app and it was an extra $8??? It was hell! You do have the ability to complain via the app, but we had to complain so many times and they don’t even refund you properly they just give credit to your account which is useless if you’re on your way home. Honestly such an exhausting process being constantly scammed by the drivers. We maybe had only two good rides the entire time we were in Sri Lanka.

I have never see such a app that is for the crooked tak tak drives then for to help the customer !!! There needs to have competitor to clean up there act !!!

When booking don't allow the tak tak driver to have a choice of cancelling the booking onece its booked .
Let the app choose the driver nearest to the booking . And if the driver cancel the booking more then two time's per each day . They can't use pick me for that day !!
If more then two complaints per day they are blocked for that day .

Pickme me Driver Named Dayandanda Gamaralage (Vehicle number KS 3456) phone number 0714990800 blatantly refuse to accept 4 passengers just before half and hour ago when the concerned party said if there is any problem that the only male passenger was ready to get down from vehicle at any time they face such problem. There were only 2 women and 1 girl and 1 boy part from the male (Husband of one woman). The time now is 1.38 pm.
This type of inappropriate drivers should not be engaged in taxi service especially at night when ladies and children are passengers!
The 2nd driver we booked had no such problem and is now completing the expected journey!
So essentially it is high time for customers to seek disciplined taxi drivers during night!

I got into a pick me cab with driver named mohommed Ibnu Habbas (number plate : PJ5479) (Trip ID : 227456684) with my portable working station (laptop, monitor, iPad, etc) at piliyanadala at 9.30 pm. My destination was mount Lavinia. On the way I asked the pick me driver to stop at the Burger King in K zone moratuwa for me to order some dinner. He asked me to switch my destination to the Burger King from mount Lavinia saying that there is a new update on the pick me app. I've used pick me for over 4 years and I've never encountered this situation before. Forcefully he asked me to change my destination to the Burger king, so I did it. Then I went into the Burger King to get my food and went back to the pick me cab. When I got in, the driver had cancelled the tour and told me to put a new tour with him from Burger King to mount Lavinia. When I refused he forcefully asked me to leave. He then exchanged verbally abusive words and turned around and started beating me up. He got out of his seat and pulled me out and started throwing my stuff out. My monitor fell down from the seat to the floor of the cab while he was doing so. I gave him the money I owed and he got into his cab and he left. So I was stranded in the middle of the road with my equipment and I ordered an Uber who dropped me to my final location in mount Lavinia.
This could be his and pick me's strategy to earn off people's money unknowingly.
I called pick me but they didn't respond. I later on sent so many messages through their pick me app, yet there was no response.
