Tolles Konzept, aber in der Praxis leider noch nicht alltagstauglich

Ich bin aktuell aktiv auf der Suche nach einer fairen, europäischen und unabhängigen Alternative zu Instagram. Dabei bin ich auf Pixelfed gestoßen – die Idee hinter dem Projekt (dezentral, werbefrei, privatsphärefreundlich) überzeugt mich absolut und ist genau das, was ich mir für soziale Medien wünsche.

​Leider muss ich nach dem ersten Test der App feststellen, dass die Benutzererfahrung aktuell noch sehr frustrierend ist. Schon bei der Registrierung gab es Fehlermeldungen, obwohl das Konto letztlich erstellt wurde. Die Einrichtung meines Profils – eigentlich eine einfache Aufgabe – wurde zur Geduldsprobe: Ein Profilbild ließ sich weder im WLAN noch über das mobile Netz hochladen. Auch das Speichern von Änderungen an Name, Bio oder Link schlug mehrfach fehl; erst nach unzähligen Versuchen reagierte die App sporadisch.

​Für eine Plattform, die Nutzer von den großen Tech-Giganten abwerben will, ist eine solche Hürde beim Onboarding leider ein K.O.-Kriterium. Es ist sehr schade, da der Ansatz unterstützenswert ist, aber wenn die technische Basis in den ersten Minuten so instabil wirkt, bleibt Pixelfed für mich leider noch keine echte Alternative. 🫤

Ich werde mich daher erst einmal anderweitig umsehen müssen und hoffe, dass die technische Entwicklung hier noch deutlich zulegt.

Blocchi senza dare una ragione

Mi hanno bloccato il profilo nonostante rispettassi le linee guida, e non ho pubblicato molto, semmai ci fosse stata una svista nemmeno un contenzioso o un avviso. Si comportano peggio del social originale (che non faccio nomi) dal quale prendono ispirazione. Non esiste una zona dedicata per comunicare con degli amministratori e fare ricorso.

Il social risulta scarno di utenti attivi al momento, poco fluido, e abbastanza antiquato nell'impostazione visti i competitor. L'organizzazione per gestire il proprio profilo l'ho trovato poco intuitivo e non in linea con gli standard di fruibilità. L'unica cosa che mi è piaciuta è l'autenticazione a due fattori.

Se potessi dare meno di una stella lo farei.
