Great customer service but really disappointed with the food. We visited Pizza Express because our child loves it but we could get much better pizza elsewhere. My pizza was soft (only just cooked) and... See more

Chewy, Doughy and undercooked Pizzas, You had one job …
We ordered via Just eat from the Pizza Express in Hull, the app was easy to use and the company kept us informed when the delivery would be. The rider delivered the pizza within the hour which we were happy with.
The pizzas themselves of which we paid nearly £40 for three were very disappointing. The base was chewy and undercooked, barely palatable and quite hard to eat. The pizzas were also not cut correctly and difficult to tear into pieces which made a mess when coming to share.
Com’on guys your meant to be a pizza specialist … at least get the basics right if you gonna charge what you do. We even tipped the rider as it’s not his fault you can’t cook, take a little pride and test the food before you package it.
Manager was angry
Manager was angry, aggressive and rude @ Worcester park restaurant. Will not be returning
Manager didn't know his own offers
Manager argued that my voucher code was invalid in front of other guests. He didn't know his own promotion had been extended.
After I even proved on my phone he still argued that I needed a voucher from a shop bought pizza. I showed him his term and conditions he still said well it wont accept it when you go to pay on the app. Low and behold it did !!! Buy one get one free pizza. So whilst I did get the pizza the whole experience was ridiculous and embarrassing.
Raw Chicken and Uncooked Cannelloni
Raw Chicken and Uncooked Cannelloni – Extremely Unsafe
Ordered a takeaway from Pizza Express Mill Hill (NW7) via Deliveroo — completely unacceptable experience. The chicken was raw in the middle, posing a serious health risk, and the cannelloni wasn’t even cooked properly.
Tried contacting Pizza Express directly but was met with automated replies and no real response. No accountability, no resolution. For a national chain, this level of negligence is shocking.
This is now being taken further through the appropriate legal and food safety channels. Avoid this branch at all costs.
Sunningdale manager was extremely rude
Sunningdale manager was extremely rude, when I complained to the email address they just ignore you for days on end , and when they eventually reply they just cover up for themselves absolutely appalling will never visit another pizza express ever. My opinions of a business is you only ever find how good they are when things go wrong and this business is probably the worst ever
Chaotic Service and Appaling Management
Chaotic Service and Mangement
Yesterday evening a friend and i visited PIZZA EXPRESS at BELSIZE PARK for the first time in a year.
A restaurant which had we had visited with great satisfaction several times in the past had been turned into a chaotic experience due to the following.
We arrived at 17:57, hardly a busy time. We ordered at 6 o'clock and waited very nearly an hour for the order , 2 simple Padanas, to arrive. The restaurant was not busy but we heard someone behind us being told by a male employee that their order made after we arrived would take an hour.
In the interim, the following happened. My friend unfortunately clipped the top of a carafe of water while reaching for her water glass on the other side of the table and the carafe shattered. The aforementioned employee reasonably took the remains away, without wiping the table, promising to replace it immediately. This did not happen and a good ten minutes or so later, we had to request it.
Having waited fortyfive minutes for our order, I thought it wise to go in search of it inside the restaurant. I interrupted what seemed to be a minor argument between the same employee and the staff by the ovens.
Having managed to attract his attention, he checked and informed me that our meal was ready and would be out straight away. Fifteen minutes later I was about to get up again when it finally arrived. Not hot but just about warm enough to eat, almost exactly one hour after ordering when there were barely half a dozen customers in the restaurant.
However, these customers seem to have been deliberately given a low priority in favour of take-away customers phoning up, (judging by the number of pizza boxes by the ovens) who came and went frequently while we waited.
Eventually we were allowed to pay... asking for the bill and then calling the waitress back to pay instantly, fearing another long delay.
Before leaving i went inside, intending to both visit the bathroom and make my feelings known to the blond haired man I assumed to be the manager. Unfortunately he seemed to be in a continuing dispute with the sole paying customer inside the restaurant. I'd waited long enough.
It was interesting to note, at the rear of the restaurant, a good dozen uncleared tables littered with dirty crockery cutlery, adding to the one next to our table outside, the family at which we had long watched disappear.
It seems to me that had PIZZA EXPRESS planned to close any of your franchises, the man who owns this one could be very useful.
Presumably the owner of the franchise has been cutting costs by
a) increasing the number of takeaway orders he takes.
b) Employing cheaper and fewer staff judging by their performance and the cleanliness of the restaurant.
c) Employing a manager who seems not to possess the people skills necessary for a post of this kind.
The natural trajectory of this would seem to be poorer service, fewer customers, longer wait times and a desperate attempt to fill the gap with take away orders causing fewer customers, rinse and repeat until the franchise fails .Combined with the inside of the restaurant looking like a somewhat neglected greasy spoon, I doubt its a recipe for success.
Option for opt outs rather than just add-ons!
When you go to the restaurant the staff are always good but if I want you to pick up a takeaway the phone is rarely answered. I would order to pick up online but you still don’t give me the option to state “no oregano”. Now it might not be the most popular allergy but it is one nonetheless and my penalty for having it is to have to wait in the restaurant for a hundred Deliveroo orders yo be prepared ahead of mine.
£60 and they don't even have their own delivery drivers
£60 and they don't even have delivery drivers ready and waiting - I could see mine coming from miles away an hour after I ordered my pizza. Outsourcing to uber was a mistake. Not using them again.
Ordered 13 in came 9 in cold and…
Ordered 13 in came 9 in cold and tasteless never again pizza express.

They Changed the Gold Loyalty Scheme & I now have to pay £27 vice £15 for thecsame meal.
Pure Greed!
Told them to Shove it!
Fleet branch poor service and burnt…
Ordered from the Fleet branch this evening. First of all it took 1h15m for delivery. Uber Eats turned up to the restaurant 4 times to pick up the order and it wasn’t ready. Then when it arrive 3 out of the 4 orders were badly burnt. Really poor service and quality. Will not order from pizza express again.
Pizza Express Farnham
The food and experience was horrendous and the ambience dreadful. The acoustics and shouting screaming kids running out of control was dire. There should be an area carved out for families. As for the food…..I ordered a lasagne. It arrived and was nothing short of pig slop. I was compelled to send it back immediately and reorder. How they had the audacity to serve that to me I do not know.
Me and my sister went to Pizza Express Banbury
Me and my sister went to Pizza Express in Banbury today and it was fabulous. We haven’t been for a while because we weren’t very satisfied the last time we went but today was great. The staff were brilliant, helpful, courteous, humourous, the food was good and the weather was the icing on the cake. Lucy was our waitress and she was extremely helpful and gave great advice for choices. So just wanted to say Thank you Pizza Express in Banbury.
Rude service and wouldn’t recommend…
Rude service and wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. The pizza express restaurant in question was in Southgate. Had a booking but were turned away. My daughter had booked this restaurant for the family (14 of us) as a surprise for her birthday. However, upon arrival was told no tables available even though a) there were plenty in the back corner b) showed the booking reservation.
The manager flatly refused to serve us or acknowledge the booking stating over and over no space. Even though we pointed to the spare tables. It was difficult to discuss with someone who was unwilling to listen and kept stating nothing available that we left and looked for another restaurant which accommodated us at the last minute. It is a shame that I cannot give this zero stars.
Staff at Pizza Express nice but don't know about Birthday offers eg dessert
Staff at Pizza Express Morningside Edinburgh very nice but knew not a jot about your birthday dessert offers so i gave up on it since they did not go the extra mile about it ! You maybe need to train them up re these offers a bit !
Rude waitress calls me a liar & won’t back down
Visited Pizza Express Portsmouth (Gunwharf) at 12:00 on 2 May 2025 & we were the only people there at first.
I ordered my dish using the phrase "no white sauce, just the tomato sauce please".
The dish arrived with white sauce, which I queried politely & reminded her that I had in fact said "no white sauce". I did ask what was in it, in order to at least explore the possibility of eating what I hadn't ordered, but was not willing to do so after she showed me the packaging and I saw it contained butter. She said that I should have "said that I was vegan" (even though I am not).
The waitress (medium height, slim, red/dark hair, possibly Eastern European accent) first said she had misunderstood this because there were 2 similar dishes.
She then changed her mind and said several times "no, you did not say that" which she repeated dogmatically several times despite my politely correcting her that I did but that I could understand how she misunderstood.
Eventually she snapped "no, you did not say that, but I will remake it" before flouncing off while looking daggers at me.
I was not about to eat what came back considering what unmentionable thing may have been done to it, so I paid for the food I did not eat, then went upstairs to Wagamama where I was treated with civility and grace.
Never before have I been treated so rudely. Totally uncalled for. At least now I understand why the place was empty.
Not sure what has happened to the basic premise of customer service being to treat the customer as if they are right (or at least give them the benefit of the doubt). Clearly the staff are not trained for the customer facing aspects of the job.
Tip to the company - even if you are convinced the customer is lying, a polite way to respond is "I did not hear you say that", not repeatedly call them a liar to their face.
Receipt is time stamped 12:47, table 11 & account 6037 (note that the waitress who generated the bill was not the rude waitress who took our order and is the subject of this review).
Also: bring back screw top bottles for Appletiser. The switch to cans is shameful.
Dorking. Heating on in a heat wave!
Dorking pizza express. Hottest weekend in may ever, and the central heating was on, and they can't even open the windows.
Climate wise it's poor. Great service, nice food but next to raging radiators. Very weird, as in why are you paying for this together with the obvious complaints that will follow? There's always rialtos in Dorking. for pizza
Awful experience
WE have always used PIzza Express over the last 20 years, so we went in knowing what to expect... how wrong we were. AVOID this restuarant.
FIRSTLY - told that only two tables by the entrance door were free as other zones have been closed for the eveining..at 7pm?? Several tables purposely left dirty while 4 serving staff chatted..
SECONDLY - we ordered two Fiorentina as its one of our favourites, awful - barely warm, sparce toppings and no offer of parmesan or pepper (when asked the reply was you didin't ask for it..). We have had better "essential" frozen pizzas from Aldi...
FINALLY - last straw.. Constantly Just Eat bikers opening both doors and standing in the doorway letting the cold wind in waiting for the staff to stop chatting and attend. I had to TWICE ask them to close the door..
Pizza Express if this is your business POOR SERVICE, POOR FOOD AND PRIORITISE DELIVERY.. YOU NEED TO RETHINK..
I waited over half an hour for my food…
I waited over half an hour for my food and nothing happened. I walked out.
Pathetic Pizzas
Two different pizzas ordered. Both almost cold, very thin and dried up toppings.
Never used Pizza Express before and never will again.
£40 order not worth a penny.
Refund requested.
