Great customer service but really disappointed with the food. We visited Pizza Express because our child loves it but we could get much better pizza elsewhere. My pizza was soft (only just cooked) and... See more

TGTG: Cynical Marketing Ploy
Jane
Your response still doesn't explain or clarify why Pizza Express is allowed to charge £4.95 for three small starters. Also had no choice to choose from starters or one main meal. Your Client, Pizza Express, set a high price of £4.95 for essentially waste food which is an Outrage to customers like myself and diminishes TGTG's Raison d'Etre.
TGTG's food offers are just another cynical marketing ploy to squeeze profit from leftover food by greedy restaurants rather than genuinely reducing food waste by re- distributing to consumers at nominal prices if not for free. Clearly never the case from this experience. I, family and friends will AVOID Pizza Express and TGTG App like the plague!!!

terrible service !! will not be returning!…
i would like to escalate my message to senior manager as thats not acceptable response i never received any cancellation and my friend had come to join me from outside of london and we both incurred travel costs over £15 to get to westfield branch where we were told that my booking had been cancelled yet i didnt receive anything at all via email in advance
as a result of this terrible service and how badly ive been treated i will not be dining again at pizza express!!!
Horrible experience
Horrible experience. Ordered from pizza express in Jesmond Newcastle. Pizza took 1 hour to arrive, it was cold and ALMOST RAW. Not to mention they got my order completely wrong despite only buying 1 pizza. The sauce dip is ridiculous, 75p for enough dip for 2 slices.
Abhorrent, strongly advise to stay away.
Very, very disappointed
Very, very absolutely very disappointed, ordered on just eat, pizza was cold, burned , hard, dry , rubbery , never eat such a bad pizza from them , I ordered from Plymouth brach apparently leisure Center, not cheap for being so bad , so very upset and disappointed was looking forward to it , I managed to eat some I was hungry but my partner couldn’t
I am fairly sure that Pizza Express…
I am fairly sure that Pizza Express lost a lot of future customers because of deceptive 60th pizza anniversary (scam) day.
I expected a long queue but I wanted to try Pizza Express because everywhere they said it’s their 60th anniversary with cheap promotional pizzas.
The promotion described in newspapers and online media was simple. If your order was made within 5-6pm, 27 March, your promotional pizza would be discounted.
I went Oxford branch in the centre. SURPRISINGLY, there was no queue at all. Actually the ground floor was totally empty and the light was out. So I saw one customer went away. But when I opened the door, their first floor was open but only lesr than half full. Strange but I felt lucky with my whole family.
Who didn’t want almost free pizzas?
But I realised very quickly their promotion was scam and they had no intention on selling pizzas within 5-6pm. As I mentioned above, the ground floor was empty, and the first floor was half taken at 5:20pm. But no member came to us. I grabbed a member of staff and asked if we can have a table. But she said simply ‘no’. No more explanation whatsoever so I asked why we couldn’t get seats. She said the reservation was fully booked. BUT no one asked us whether we had a reservation in that empty restaurant from our entry. If they were really fully booked, why didn’t they come to us whether we booked a table when they saw us? This is just not my experience. They never asked newly appearing customers whether they booked. I stayed there 2-3 mins including our team I saw 3 other teams coming in. But why the restaurant, which claimed to be fully booked, was nearly empty? The guests all arranged their coming shortly before the promotion is over? Again, the promotion was to be only applied orders between 5-6pm according to the terms. This is not possible for the empty restaurant without any queue at 5.23 saying the reservation is full and suddenly the restaurant becomes full then they could take orders for everybody!! Ridiculous and dishonest. You shouldn't have deceived people this way. Before today, there was no good or bad opinion about Pizza Express. But from today. I have lots of things to talk about Pizza Express’ short sighted scam that makes customers away! Disgusting and insulting.
London, Bexleyheath branch
The bill came to over £200. We felt cheated! We booked a table for 8 on a Saturday afternoon for an adult birthday lunch. Despite the restaurant being fairly quiet with lots of empty tables at the bright, attractive front we were allocated a table right at the relatively dingy back of the restaurant close to the toilets. We had to wait some time to be greeted and seated. Drinks and starters order was taken fairly quickly. But delivered very slowly. Our pizzas took a very long time to arrive yet they were overcooked if not slightly burnt, with yolks in two fiorentina pizzas ordered rock hard (we weren't asked how we wanted them). To add insult to injury me and another of our party had a "free side dish" offer in our pizza express apps. When I tried to use mine all that was offered was an insulting free side of extra garlic butter valued at *75p* instead of the free side of our choice that we thought had been promised. The other person was unable to use their offer due to poor mobile phone signal. The meal took so long to be delivered that we did not bother ordering more drinks or dessert. I got the impression that the restaurant was short of staff. We were very disappointed overall.
Regarding their 60th birthday pizza…
Regarding their 60th birthday pizza promotion on Thursday 27th March from 5-6pm (Margherita 33p, American 45p, La Reine 48p & American Hot 50p)
THIS IS A SCAM! I made a reservation on Tuesday for 4 people at 17:30 and today I've received an email advising that my reservation has been cancelled. When I called the pizzeria, I spoke to a very rude and condescending "manager" who advised they were full and could not give me a explanation as to why my reservation was accepted in the first instance. Surely if you don't have any tables at the time of making the reservation, it would tell you so. I contacted customer service and they were of no use too; you have to go through an online chat! After doing some further digging, it seems that each pizzeria is only intending on providing a maximum of 30 pizzas between 17:00 - 18:00 at the OG prices! Absolutely pathetic and dishonest!
Don’t bother !
They advertise offers and have availability but after you make the booking they cancel your reset a couple of days later . Never had a reservation cancelled before . Poor . Never again ! I’m too busy to reorganise a meal after a company doesn’t have systems that work . Since when did restaurants show availability that then ‘ disappeared’ ?
Pizza Express King’s Lynn
Another great visit to one of our favourite restaurants. My children did a Pizza making party with our autism group. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Very friendly and helpful and all the children enjoyed it. The food I ordered was delicious and didn’t have to wait long. Highly recommend this branch as nothing is too much trouble.
Never again
Ordered a pizza Margherita from the Pizza Express Beckenham High street branch, that came at an exorbitant price, over £21 including service an delivery. The pizza arrived stone cold, and, what was worse, barely cooked at all.
How dare these people take advantage of the public like that? Of course I will never buy from them again, but they should not get away with this kind of fraud.
Worst pizza order!
Hello, I made an order PE0411-020325-0001 on 02/03/25. Pizza arriver cold; dough balls were missing the garlic dip. Disappointed and will not use you again!
Worst ever Pizza Express experience
Food was extremely poor and clearly straight of a box. Mushroom arancini was shocking - 6 small marbles obviously just warmed up and soggy on the outside. The pizza was not cooked from fresh and was just heated up on site. Our pizzas were lukewarm on being served and we had to ask them to be warmed up. Worst-ever Pizza Express experience. Won’t be going back to this branch!
Delicious Lunch!
My husband and I had a lovely meal at Pizza Express Worcester Cathedral Plaza today. He was on his lunch break from work, so we needed to be fast, and Gus provided very speedy service. It was a bit chilly in the restaurant and when my husband mentioned this, Gus turned up the heating and also brought him a free coffee. Our pizza arrived really quickly and was delicious. We didn't have time for dessert, but after such a good experience we will definitely be returning in the near future to make time for it!
Best waitress Laura!
I had Laura who was absolutely amazing she helped me choose the perfect pizza and was very patient when I was reading the menu. Overall a really good experience. Thank you Laura!!
Pizza Express Harborne
I took my children for dinner after a lovely day out. We had missed lunch and were pretty hungry so decided to order the family bundle (two large pizzas, a starter and two sides) and one Romana sized pizza, between three of us. I was planning on taking leftovers home and prefer to order too much rather than not enough.
When taking the order I asked the waiter "what is the kids eat free policy. Is there an age limit?" He very rudely looked at my children, scoffed and said "free meals are off the kids menu and its for under 11's" I said "never mind then, my son's 12 and we don't want to order off the kids menu" Both my children are tall and look like young adults. The waiter looked at them again and said "You can't get cheap for them anymore"!
I then started to place my order. The waiter loudly pointed out "That's A LOT of food. There's only three of you. Are you sure you want to order that last pizza?" I told him yes (my daughter wanted a Romana base and my son & I wanted different pizzas). He asked three times, getting louder each time, attracting the attention of the other diners and said "well OK, I don't know what your appetite is like, but if that's what you want". Then he took the menu's and walked off. It was very embarrassing.
Before we finished he came to the table next to us, interrupted thier conversation to ask them if they wanted a box for thier food. One of the women was still eating, but he had no regard for that. The other lady did want a box, but they were clearly not ready to leave yet.
When he brought the box to them, he asked if our meal was OK. I said yes (the food was lovely) and I asked for boxes for our left overs. He then walked over to the chef, spoke to him in Italian, pointed at us, then the chef turned looked over and the waiter rolled his eyes. The waiter knew my daughter could see what he was doing as he looked her straight in the eye as he talked. When the waiter brought the boxes over he proceeds to ask me very loudly if everything was OK with the food. I said yes, it was lovely. He asked again twice, if I was I sure. I replied "yes and we have enough left over for lunch tomorrow too". He huffed and walked off!
This man completely ruined our dining experience. What should have been a nice relaxing enjoyable end to a lovely day out ended up leaving us all feeling judged, uncomfortable and annoyed. It is non of his concern how much we order and it should not be an issue if we want to take home leftovers.
I was going to escalate this to a manager before I left but for the sake of the peace of other diners, I decided to come home and leave this review/complaint. I feel if I'd escalated there in person this waiter would have just gotten more loud and obnoxious, I'd already had enough of his rudeness and just wanted to leave.
I spent £82 last night. The food was lovely. But the service made it feel worth £22! We usually order desert to take out and on this occasion I was going to order a pizza with a meat topping to take home for my husband, but I decided against it just to get away from this rude little man!
So, in summary, Pizza Express Harborne - last night your waiter upset customers and lost sales for you. As a bare minimum, please train this man on service and people skills.
Stirling Pizza express
I took advantage of the £10 January offer at Stirling Pizza Express. Tasty food and a warm welcome from Mel who was attentive and friendly throughout.
First time I had been here in a long…
First time I had been here in a long time. Won't be coming back. My pizza was OK but my daughters which was a garlic prawn had a dismal number of prawns on display and was under cooked with a limp soggy base.
We ordered two cocktails and quite honestly I reckon they forgot to put the alcohol in. Service too was pretty crap with no clearing of plates and glasses. Quite overpriced and felt ripped off. Would not recommend the place.
