A very comprehensive course

The course goes in detail, both in theory and practice. I love the way it focus on a product based approach. I wish I could give it more than this to be honest.

The Android Architecture Masterclass is…

The Android Architecture Masterclass was a very useful and engaging experience. I learned a lot about structuring an Android project with a proper architecture. The main value for me was the focus on Clean Architecture and how to separate responsibilities between the layers — data, domain, and presentation. I also appreciated the use of modern tools like Jetpack Compose, Room, DataStore, which gave me a better understanding of how to build scalable and testable apps.

One point of feedback: I would personally prefer if the videos were shorter — ideally no longer than 15 minutes. When lessons are very long, it’s easy to lose concentration and feel tired. Shorter segments make it easier to stay motivated and clearly see the progress after finishing each one.

Overall, I found this masterclass inspiring and very practical. It gave me confidence in applying Clean Architecture and modern Android development patterns in my own projects.

Truly Industry-Level Android Courses That Fill the Gaps

I recently completed four courses from PL Coding:
- The Essentials of Industry-Level Android App Development
- Building Industry-Level Wear OS Apps
- Testing Large-Scale Multi-Module Android Apps
- The Best Practice Guide to Android Architecture

These courses significantly strengthened my understanding of multi‑modular and clean architecture principles, working with Android APIs (even on Wear OS), and mastering the power of Kotlin Coroutines & Flows, which for me makes Kotlin the best language for Android development.

I’ve been following Android development since the old XML times and have watched countless videos from Philipp Lackner or Stevdza-San, which I still consider the best free resources for keeping up with the latest trends. But honestly, even though those videos are amazing, I always felt that something was missing – a deeper look at the core principles and fundamentals of large scale real world Android app architecture.

That gap was finally filled during these courses. The way the material is structured truly goes beyond surface‑level tutorials and dives into what industry‑level Android development really looks like.

Thank you very much – taking these courses was 100% worth it, and looking forward to complete another one. 🙌

The speed of coding and explanation is…

The speed of coding and explanation is too high. With autocompletion and AI, I was barely getting along with the video, so I'm not even saying to think about some complex logic. I was constantly stopping the video as Phillip was going way too fast (I understand that code was prepared in advance) so I could type along.
Would not recommend this course to junior devs.

Thank you for your feedback! I understand that following along can sometimes feel fast-paced. Just so you know, you can adjust the video playback speed using the controls in the video player to slow things down and follow at your own pace. Also, if anything is unclear while watching, you’re always welcome to post questions directly below the video. We're happy to help clarify and guide you through any part of the lesson.

Highly recommended – professional, inspiring, and technically outstanding!

I took part in Philipp Lackner’s Drop Table Mentoring and also purchased all of his courses – and I can say with full confidence: this program has taken me to a whole new level concerning the Android-Development.

Philipp and his team work with the highest level of professionalism. The content is not only excellently structured and explained but also always up to date with the latest technical standards. I was especially impressed by the depth and quality of the feedback provided during the mentoring – personalized, constructive, and truly motivating.

The courses cover a wide range of topics around Android development and Kotlin, always with a strong focus on modern technologies, best practices, and real-world application. It’s clear that Philipp and his team bring passion and deep expertise to the table – and that energy is contagious.

If you’re serious about growing in the Android/Kotlin space, this is exactly where you need to be.
A clear recommendation!

The Architecture Masterclass

The Architecture Masterclass course is pretty good. It implements a real app with detailed Figma mockups available with advanced UI and audio recording/playing. You can learn how to structure a single module project well and how to effective use the layers. There are also a lot of flow usage and it shows really well how useful flows and flow operators are and what are some of their real life use cases.

The only thing that was missing for me is multi module architecture in practice. Philipp explains it well in theory and I know it's part of his Essentials course but would have been nice to see it implemented here since this course is specifically about architecture.

Just finished The Essentials of…

Just finished The Essentials of Industry-Level Android App Development course, and I have really enjoyed it! My knowledge of Android development has increased tenfold. For a long time I tried to learn on my own, rummaging through various videos and articles on the internet which were usually out of date. This has really helped me learn important concepts, best practices, how to properly structure code and projects, and how to otherwise be a competent developer.

I came across Philipp's YouTube videos and noticed a stark difference from other tutorials. Though his YouTube videos are very helpful, I needed something structured. This is what I have been looking for and look forward to upgrading my knowledge through the other courses. Now I hope to soon embark work in the field of Android development.

As some have already said, however, Philipp's videos are generally fast-paced with brief explanations. Yet, I feel he has a good balance. He keeps his explanations brilliantly simple highlighting the main focus of each point. This makes it easier for me to follow along, and where I am confused I just do some personal research or reach out to Philipp's support team who are happy to assist.

Thank you to Philipp and his team!

Totally worth it

So far I completed the Doodlekong course which is about making a Web sockets based game with Ktor and Android, and also the Android Internals course.
I enjoyed both courses, but I was specifically impressed by Android Internals - it gave me immense knowledge over the Android OS and its capabilities, which in turn can help me a lot in my next steps during the path to becoming an Android developer.
Looking forward to the next courses on my agenda! Thanks for the awesome content! :)

Android Internals

I recently finished the Android Internals course. This is a very informative course about Android internals in general. It covers many important topics, such as ViewModels, ART, Processes, IPC, Services, and more.
If you want to learn about internals, this is 100 % right choice.

Things to improve.

This course was conveyed professionally, I have learned a lot. I think that it would be great for this course and others courses to add for each video/topic a summary (file) regarding important topics we learned in each section.

I was introduced to Philipp's work…

I was introduced to Philipp's work almost 3 years ago. At the moment I've been working in the field for 2.5 years, currently as a mid level android developer. He is still one of my main points of reference for android related stuff

His free work delivers value, and his paid one more than makes up for the money spent.

Will keep spending both time and money on his content. The return on investment is worth it.

A course that teaches us the concepts which we thought we already knew about!!

I would like to think of myself as an intermediate android developer. Was not sure if these internals course would be useful. Now that i have finished it, I am glad i took this course. I have implemented most of the IPC concepts mentioned in this course before, yet i was able to gain a lot from the videos on these topics. Also really liked the videos on keystore topics. Thanks phillip
