Impossible to cancel auto renewal and…
I signed up for one year of hosting + domain and made sure to opt out of automatic renewal. Despite this, I was charged again the following year — my settings had been changed without my consent, and support refused any refund.
Throughout the year, I also faced unresolved technical issues, especially with the SSL certificate. My site showed a security warning on multiple devices, making it unusable for customers. Support kept denying there was any problem.
In year two, I was extra careful, even asked to delete my account. They said they would — but didn’t. Now in year three, they tried to charge me again. Luckily, my card had expired, but they’re still demanding payment.
Their support lies, the auto-renewal opt-out doesn’t work, and technical help is useless. Avoid.

Auto-renewal and automatic billing are outlined in our Terms of Use, which serve as a contractual agreement between PlanetHoster and its clients.
Here are the relevant sections:
10.4 By default the renewal of the SERVICES is automatic. The CLIENT may disable this option in the “service” tab of the PLANETHOSTER member space, no later than 30 days prior to the expiry of the original CONTRACT in accordance with section 9.
10.5 When the CLIENT chooses to pay by credit card, the system will automatically debit any new invoice amount 15 days prior to the expiry of the original CONTRACT, i.e. 15 days before the SERVICES’ renewal. In the event of failure, the CLIENT will be notified by email and shall, therefore, pay for the SERVICES in any other manner provided for by the CONTRACT.

When you place an order, our system prompts you to review our Terms of Use. You must check the box indicating your agreement with PlanetHoster’s Terms of Use in order to complete your order. While often overlooked, reading the Terms is crucial as they contain important information. We strongly encourage you to read them carefully.
Upon review, your domain’s auto-renewal was still active. This is why the account was not deleted. We invite you to deactivate this feature in order to delete the domain and cancel its renewal invoice.
Regarding our refund policy, please note the following:
10.8 Credits on PLANETHOSTER accounts are not refundable.
12.4 PlanetHoster undertakes to refund, at the latest within fourteen days after the day PlanetHoster is informed of the decision of the CLIENT to retract. After 30 days of service, PlanetHoster reserves the right to refund the customer in the form of credit PlanetHoster only.
When a domain name is offered, a portion of the fee is withheld to cover the registration cost. After 7 days of service, PLANETHOSTER reserves the right to refund the CLIENT in the form of PLANETHOSTER credit only. After 30 days, prorated credit may be offered within 180 days.
13.1 CUSTOMER may at any time and at its discretion, terminate the CONTRACT by sending a notice to PlanetHoster from its customer account only, and not by ticket. The amounts paid by the CUSTOMER in relation to domain names, SSL certificates and licenses are not refundable.
After reviewing your tickets, we did not find any refund request or any refund refusal.
Regarding the SSL certificate issues, our agents responded to your ticket HPE-286-31161 and asked a question to better understand the problem, but we did not receive a reply from you. Unfortunately, our agents are unable to assist you without your response.
Please remember that our technical support is available 24/7. If you had difficulty reaching us, you can always open a ticket via your PlanetHoster client area, in the "My Support" section.
If you believe that your case has not been handled properly, feel free to escalate it to our Quality Assurance department for further review.
