Best meal kit service out there. Shame that they took it off the market. All inclusive prices. Offerings for 3 people. Brunch, lunch and desserts of all kinds in addition to dinner meals that were AMAZING. No one else can compare to Plated.
I love Plated. The food quality and the recipe flavors are fabulous. The customer service is outstanding.
I’ve ordered from Plated regularly for the last 3 years and love them. I’ve tried just about all the different subscription meal delivery companies out there and I just keep coming back to Plated. They always have my favorites and also new recipes with different ingredients I want to try. There have been only a couple times where the produce was a little overripe or the portion size was smaller than I wanted, but overall my experience has been good. I’ve never received a box that was missing ingredients. Their packaging has improved quite a bit over the years so everything stays cold even when it’s close to 100 outside. I’m still trying out a couple of other meal delivery services but Plated will remain my go-to for reliable meals.
My First experience with Plated...The ingredients just weren't the quality and the choices of what I wanted. I thought I had deactivated my account, I somehow didn't. I called, asked for either a refund or have them call FedEx to change the address being I was no longer there. They refused, even after I confirmed with FedEX that they could. So I have no way to get my food, and they are refusing to give me a refund. I am disputing the charge and I had FedEx Turn the shipment around back to sender being they refused to help me. So sad that they are going to have bad reviews ALL over the place by me just because they refused to refund me my $28 dollar charge.
Great service! Love their packaging and I always get a ton of variety with their recipes.
I’ve been using plated about 6 months and have been super happy. The website is easy to use, so is the app. It’s easy to skip weeks and change up the number of dinners you get.
The customer service is a dream! They’re super nice and helpful. I’ve had a few ingredients arrive wilted or splotchy and have gotten refunds and apologies.
The food itself is excellent. The recipes are creative and tasty. There are lots of options every week and in 6 months we have not repeated a single recipe! (Because we always want to try new stuff, not because recipes aren’t worth repeating). I keep saving the recipe cards thinking I’ll make them myself, but there’s always new recipes in the weekly lineup that I want to try.
We will be customers for a while longer for sure :)
Been using them for years now and my experience has been mostly positive. I had one instance where some arugula started to turn before I could make the meal. But once or twice out of dozens and dozens of meals is not bad at all. They have some unique menu options and almost everything we’ve chosen has tasted really good. We like trying things that we couldn’t get ingredients for nearby. We have remade tons of plated recipes. We use plated and another service in combination for our weeknight meals. Been very happy so far. Customer service has been very good the times I’ve needed them and they offer discounts to regular customers now and then, not just for trying to get new subscribers. I appreciate that.
ZERO STARS!!!!
We had Blue Apron for more than 3 years. We thought maybe time for a change. We chose Plated.
First thing we noticed in the box was the excess of plastic bags and insulation, etc.. which in the end was a waste and useless.
The pineapple juice from one of the containers was over everything. The blueberries for the dessert also leaked everywhere. The worst was the meat. Blood had leaked out of three of the plastic bags it was in, the ziplock on the bag was carelessly not sealed! Blood was everywhere on every package and all over the box and cold packs,, it was disgusting!
Another important thing we realized. The proteins were all the cheapest you can buy. Blue Apron provided grass fed beef, wild caught salmon, range grown chicken etc.....
We also believe that Plated buys all the ingredients in bulk, and separates and divides ingredients themselves. Which of course causes the leaky packaging and less than the best products. Broken and rotten bok choy, brown scallions,, and stale pie crusts!
We cancelled after our second box. It was a joke.
We are now back with Blue Apron! No comparison!
Full disclosure: I've been a customer of Plated for almost four years and I love them! My cooking skills were less than stellar when I started. My biggest challenge was being able to convert left over ingredients into a new dish, which resulted in me tossing at least $200 worth of food EVERY month.
Once I started with Plated, there was no turning back. I receive the exact amount of ingredients needed for each dish, with detailed instructions and I create a great meal....EVERY time!
I have been tempted a few times to try Hello Fresh, Purple Carrot, Martha/Marley Spoon but have been greatly disappointed.
One of the standout reasons for staying with Plated is their exemplary customer service. Everyone I interact with is friendly, professional, accommodating and helpful. I've had a few glitches with delivery or an ingredient that wasn't up to par, and without any hesitation, excessive questions or requests to submit pictures of said ingredients, I have been given a full credit and even awarded a free dessert or two, along the way.
I cannot imagine going a week without my Plated box and it gives me great pleasure to share a free box with my friends from time to time....who have converted into customers.
If you desire great meals from around the globe and want the satisfaction of making them yourself, then look no further than Plated.com
We have had to substitute or run to the store at the last minute to replace primary ingredients for three of the last six meals we have received. Spoiled chicken, rock hard avocados, bad tomatoes.
Love the app and web experience, the branding (i'm not gonna lie!) and recipe variety drew me in but I'm not as confident in the actual operations.
It'll bum me out to let it go, but I signed up for these to make life easier, not to stress out about wasted meals, energy, and money.
Love it! I have tried other food delivery services in the past, but the portions were weak and the food wasn't that hot. Plated stands out as it has interesting recipes and clear instructions. Very fun to make and delicious to eat!
I have tried 6 food delivery companies thus far. Plated was #5. Here were my issues:
#1. The first (and only shipment) I got had spoiled food in EVERY meal. I literally had to go to the store, purchase ingredients so I could complete the order.
#2. The food takes a lot longer to cook than they state on the recipe cards. Not one of their meals took less than 40 minutes to prepare (Chicken Parmesan was 45 minutes to make). I have owned restaurants in the past, and yes, I know how to cook. If I was an amateur cook, it probably would have taken at least 20-30 minutes longer.
#3. I ordered 4 meals for the week. By the time we got to the 4th meal (Steak Frites), the ingredients were unusable.
I DID like the Roasted Shiitake Bipimbap. The Pine-nut crusted salmon was okay. Not the best, not the worst. The Chicken Parm was less than average. I wouldn't order it again. Then the steak frites, we never got to eat because everything except the potatoes, were spoiled or bad. This is why I gave it 2 stars. One good meal out of 4 is hardly worth ordering again.
I have used another meal service for 2 months, but decided to give Plated a try because the meals look a bit more exotic. I received my first order today. I a on the 3 meals for 2 people plan. One meal was as shown. Another meal was missing several ingredients. The final meal was complete, but with 2 ingredients badly damaged to the point of being unusable.
I called customer service. I got through to a live person right away, no being on hold. She handled it well and was very polite. She gave me a 2 meal credit. I'm hoping this week was just a fluke. I will give them another try next week.
