Avoid.

Were referred to plumbcare.com via home emergency cover with my bank account after my boiler stopped working.

I had £250 covered through my bank, I was charged an additional fee in excess of £200, for a fan replacement. I found the exact part they replaced for me and nowhere was it charged over £50, so they must have been charging me somewhere in the region of £200 per hour for labour, which is outrageous for a job like this.

After making the requested payment, immediately, I heard nothing from them for 2 days, on the third day I rang them, concerned I'd been forgotten, they told me they were waiting for my payment. I've had no boiler for 5 days at this point.

When they came that day and replaced the fan I was then told it was misdiagnosis and I needed an electrode replacing and I'd have to wait until Monday.

So 7 days no boiler in the end. I've had to reset my boiler 3 times because its been displaying "Low Flame" - the same error it had that caused the initial call out.

So I'm £200 worse off and I'm no further forward with my boiler. Absolute waste of time and money. Incompetent.

The worst part is, I told the engineer we have a house cat and not to let him outside and he went to the toilet, without letting us know and left our window open, without letting us know and left the door open without letting us no. Very disrespectful.

Will never use again and I'm raising a complaint and cancelling my ultimate reward account with my bank as a result of this.

Absolutely rubbish service

Absolutely rubbish service. I came across with this trader as part of a home emergency dealt with by my insurance (boiler stopped working). I had to speak with them in several occasions, as their whole aim was for me to paid the excess not covered by my insurance (£145). Which I was happy to, if they gave me some guarantees, which they took special care not to give me. They were not giving much explanations an particularly the person I spoke with, named Jacob, was anything but helpful. He was not taking any responsibility, definitely not understanding, and of course, making really clear that repairing the issue (a gas valve) may not actually solve the problem. I do understand that my boiler is old (almost 13 years) and may need to install a new one. But what he never understood is the fact that we have been without hot water and heating in our household for 6 days and my family need that.
And what is worse, when I asked for information about the model of the new boiler they quoted to the insurer (priced £950) he again proceed with excuses and saying that has to be dealt with by another department, and it may take 3-4 working dates (on top of the 6 we've been without the boiler) just to get the quote for the model. If this the way they make business and treat their customers, I don't want to give this company any of my business

Terrible Service – Plumber Left Toilet Worse Than Before

I recently had a plumber from Plumbcare attend my property through my insurance. The problem was simple: one flush button was stuck and causing water to continuously run into the pan, while the other button didn’t work at all.

The plumber said only the buttons needed replacing, ignoring the fact that the housing was broken, so one button no longer had anything to press against to flush. Despite this being an easy fix, he showed no interest in resolving it, saying it would be “a lot of work for me,” and left without completing the job.

To make matters worse, he left an offensive voicemail. My toilet is now in worse condition than before his visit.

The plumber’s attitude, conduct, and customer service were completely unprofessional. I’ve reported this to my insurance company and will be sharing all evidence, including photos and the voicemail. I would strongly caution anyone considering Plumbcare – this was one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had.

Great service

Our boiler stopped working last Wednesday,we contacted our insurance company who arranged for Plumbcare to call us. They phoned within an hour but could not get out to us till Saturday, so 4 days with no heating in the coldest week so far.
When the engineer arrived at about 6.15 pm, he was very helpful and took the boiler to bits, located the problem and fixed it for us. His name is Arun and I am delighted to recommend him, a great service was provided to us.

Incompetent

Terrible company who will do anything to wriggle out of completing the work. They couldn't fix a leak and first explained they would return with parts. They then marked it as complete to ensure they were paid. Returned two days later using insurance funds to quote for work they were supposed to be fixing (and could have quoted for two days earlier). Engineer left us with a leak and boiler using pressure yet, after being called back to fix the issue, seemed more interested in finding a reason why it wasn't covered. Terrible incompetent company and incompetent engineers. Avoid.

Absolute joke of a company

Absolute joke of a company. Took a full day off work (losing earnings) for a confirmed appointment, only to be met with chaos. The engineer turned up with no tools or materials and was only told to "refit pipes under the sink" — despite me providing full details, measurements, and photos well in advance.

After chasing, I finally got a callback filled with excuses: apparently it was a "training issue," the job was "quoted incorrectly," and they only have one senior engineer who can fit skins — but of course, he’s too busy with other customers. So they can’t let them down… but they’re perfectly fine letting me down.

They’ve taken £135 from me and delivered absolutely nothing. No service, no professionalism, no accountability. I’ve asked for a full refund because this company is clearly not competent. Avoid at all costs.

Has totally failed to complete the…

Has totally failed to complete the repair.
First engineer visited 4/9/25 found a fault with boiler.
Second engineer visited 9/9/25 and found fault with controller receiver.
Third engineer repaired boiler 16/09/25 good job done. But walked away from replacing the faulty receiver.
18/09/25 Paid upfront £299 for new controller and labour.
19/09/25 company asking for £499 for same work.
Refused and it was agreed the £499 was a duplication of the work agreed on the 18/09/25, but with the addition of an extra 2 hours for labour.
Force to have to agree to pay £158 which covers the extra 2 hour labour.
Engineer called 30/09/25 replaced faulty control system and receiver took 45 minutes to do the work. BUT the control system was a single channel system whereas as old system was a 2 channel system, thus no hot water. Cannot return until 03/10/25.
02/10/25 Update plumbcare rang needs technical engineer to examine new thermostatic controller cannot come until 06/10/25.
All smoking mirrors.
Will have to wait to see if they bring a 2 channel system.

Bunch of cowboys spend more time on…

Bunch of cowboys spend more time on phone to find out how to get out of doing a job with the insurance and leave than it would take to do the job. Oh and when they have left you look through the insurance paper work to find you are covered so then spend 3 hours on phone with insurance for them to admit you are covered and then send the cowboys back again!!! What a joke!

Very professional

Adam B .. from Plumbcare Yorkshire, was contacted by my insurers to come and fix a leak which I had in my bathroom. He text to let me know he was on his way and an estimated time of arrival - which was spot on.
On arrival he introduced himself and was very polite and friendly. After thoroughly assessing the situation and solving which pipe was leaking he immediately started to repair and replace the parts. He then waited and flushed the system numerous times to ensure the leak was fixed completely before he left. He explained exactly what the problem had been and what repairs he had done. He then cleaned up and tidied everything away. And before leaving explained what would happen next regarding the insurance claim.
Adam is a real professional and a real gentleman. He is a huge credit to himself and to your company.

What a absolute disgraceful dishonest…

What a absolute disgraceful dishonest company. This company was sent to my house after a home emergency instructed by my insurance company. It took the 5 visits to fix my toilet flush.

One of the plumbers who removed the toilet had placed this on the bathroom floor tiles and caused them to crack , I had to log a complaint via my insurance company and plumbcare denied that their plumber caused the damage. The second plumber who called actually said that this damage was definitely caused by the first plumber, he didn't take care when placing the removed toilet on the tiles. It was 100% caused by the plumber as the length of the toilet base lined up with the damage. Before he called the tiles had been fine. It actually makes me sick that they have defined this. STAY AWAY FROM THEM THEY ARE DISHONEST.. I must add the second plumber who did his job properly actually placed some protection under the toilet before putting it on the tiles. How they have lied is disgusting. DONT USE THEM STAY AWAY AS THEY WILL DAMAGE YOUR PROPERTY THEN DENY THIS

Towel rail x 2 and kitchen tap replacement

I contacted Plumbcare (Yorkshire) to change a kitchen tap and replace two bathroom radiators (towel rails), and I couldn't be happier with the service I received.

Kristian promptly responded to my initial online inquiry, providing a clear and reasonable quotation for the work needed. I was able to quickly book a date and time that suited my schedule.

On the day of the service, Kristian and his colleague, Liam, arrived on time, assessed the situation efficiently, and completed the job without any hassle, tidying up as they worked. I highly recommend Plumbcare!

I paid for a boiler service in January…

I paid for a boiler service in January 2025 and received my visit GSW 5210651 on 26th March 2025. The engineer identified an issue with a board on the boiler but did not provide any information regarding fault or how to resolve it. He said that his office would be in touch with a solution - it is now 31st March and we have still not been contacted by Plumbcare with a solution to our faulty boiler. A call to the service support line invariably results in being passed on to an answerphone, there is never any response to messages left. Appalling service, appalling follow up and clearly no commitment from the company to honour their side of the contract. Strongly recommend avoiding this company if you need maintenace work on your boiler.

Our tank and boiler was making loud…

Our tank and boiler was making loud banging noises, water coming from the over flow pipe in the roof onto the outside path way. Contacted my insurance company and they contacted plumbcare who sent an engineer same day. I told him about the tank noises, he checked the header tank in the loft and the ball joint was faulty and needed a new one. This he said was ordered and be available sometime Monday 3rd March 25. I rand plumbcare and they said i wasnt covered. The part would be delivered Saturday 8th March 25. The engineer left us without water (cold) as we had to switch off at the mains. We've sinced contacted a reputable plumber who fixed the part within 24 hours and advised regarding the banging noises in the tank. No plumbing company should leave the customer without water.

Liam at plumbcare Wakefield is a credit to the trade!

Liam came into control a leak that another plumbing company left us in the lurch with (metroplumb- stay well clear everyone)- Liam was kind, considerate that we had just had a bad experience with another company and aware we had a vulnerable adult in the house who was immunosuppressed and went above and beyond to help fix the problem.
He is a credit to plumbcare Wakefield and it was touching to hear a tradesman have such insight to how it must feel for two women to have experienced the previous poor tradesman.
Liam treated us as an equal and professionally with dignity and respect whilst showing human compassion to our situation. Basically there are good people out there. Thank you Liam.
