Attended Roxy lanes. Had a lovely time with the people there and hopefully made some friends to explore the city with. Booking was simple and I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking to make friends in Edinburgh.

Review:
I originally left a 1-star review because I did not receive proper event details until the afternoon of the event, which made it too late to attend. It felt disorganised and stressful, and I was disappointed.
I requested a refund, had to follow up twice, and eventually received it. That should have been the end of it. Instead, I was contacted repeatedly via WhatsApp by the team, who accused me of lying in my review, called me childish, and tried to guilt me for sharing my experience.
This kind of response to customer feedback is unacceptable. It was not just unprofessional but genuinely uncomfortable. I was polite throughout and simply wanted to express what happened and move on.
Their communication felt passive aggressive, defensive, and lacked any real accountability. I would not recommend this service, not because of the technical issue, but because of how they treated me after.
Original review:
I booked an event with StoriBoard Club in Edinburgh and only received the event details and ticket at 15:39 on the same day — less than four hours before it started. By that point, I felt completely put off. I had reached out earlier in the day through WhatsApp and was assured the details would be sent, but they were incredibly slow and unhelpful.
Their system failed to process my booking in time, despite payment being taken almost 24 hours in advance. No apology, no proper support, and now I’ve missed the event. They’ve also ignored my refund request. I was really looking forward to it, but the customer service and experience were deeply disappointing.
I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone expecting a smooth or reliable experience.

Had a great meal with a group of lovely like-minded girls. I was nervous beforehand but really needn’t have been! Storiboard Team are also extremely kind, helpful and responsive to communication. I look forward to booking another meet up soon. Thank you!

This was an out of zone experience for me but I did it anyway, I went to an amazing Lebanese restaurant and met up with two groups from storiboard and we had the best meal ever the people where so bright and so many different characters I will definitely do this again

Hands down one of the best nights of my year met a bunch of misfits (myself included) and through the act alone of camaraderie and encouragement in an environment like a karaoke bar; we became great friends and was there supporting each other throughout the night! Our team won the quiz Which gave us £150 bar tab and a free private room for two hours which we then proceeded to have an amazing time singing classic songs and we all plan to meet up somewhere else separately later on this weekend🫶 karaoke bar was called Bam in Victoria London, the prices of the drinks were extortionate and met with a service charge but the bar staff were never friendly, they were defensive and opportunistic by nature that soured the experience and we probably only had £100 worth of the tab because they made sure to put service charge on the tab and tried to close the tab ilegitimately and only one person would deal with the tab itself… The other staff like the host and the MC host in the quiz were lovely, friendly, welcoming was honestly so made up for plucking up the courage to meet some strangers… Perhaps on the surface based on image alone I probably wouldn’t of approached these people but when that’s taken away and they’re in an environment where you want to be, it doesn’t matter anymore I truly I opening experience and so glad I went.. thank you STORIBOARD

I did not know what to expect as I joined one of Storiboard meeting last friday for the very first time. I'm really glad I did ! I met many friendly people and it went from karaoke to playing pool and then bowling. It was a very fun night. We talked and had a good laugh and I'm definitely glad I did not chickened out!

I've been to two events with Storyboard so far. Karaoke and bowling, and I've really enjoyed both! Great enery. The bowling night was especially lovely. Had a great laugh. There were lots of us there, and it was such a great way to meet new people. Everyone was so friendly, and I'm really happy to be making new friends through these events. Looking forward to the next one!

Been to a couple of Storiboard events across different cities in the UK. Great initiative!

My experience was great as it was a fun way to meet new strangers. The activity and the location were great! Was matched with people that I got along with. Loved that before the bowling, we had like 30 mins-1hr to mix with the other groups and there was karaoke, darts and pool. Would do it again! Well organised

I’ve been twice to a Storiboard Club event both dinners, although there are other options on different nights depending on your location.
Bowling, darts, Karoke, Board games - I’ve not tried yet; but I’m planning to soon.
Booking up is easy and after a short questionnaire, you’re ready to choose your location and event.
Membership can be monthly, I chose a yearly subscription as thought I’d enjoy it - there might be other options.
You find out your location day before - and communication is excellent with Storiboard team if you have any issues or questions.
You turn up at your location and are ready to meet different, interesting people; you pay for your dinner or activity but usually there’s some great discounts.
I’d thoroughly recommend the experience, it’s great meeting new people; just in a small group.
If you want to keep in contact- that’s up to you, or just appreciate the night for what it is - a fun, experience with new people.

Really easy to book, the restaurant knew exactly what I was on about and there were actually 2 groups - 6 on my table including me. A mix of genders (4 guys and 2 girls) and ages and they were all really nice. The restaurant was nice and food was good - I had a nice evening out!

Brilliant night out with very interesting people at a lovely venue.

I had a lovely evening. There were 4 of us (rather than 6, 2 people dropped out) which made conversation flow better. We all got on great, ordered the same thing from the menu in the classy, but quite reasonably priced, Hotel du Vin which I'd never been to before. We exchanged numbers at the end and plan to keep in touch. Highly recommended 🙂

I initially had a frustrating experience with Storyboard Club regarding the subscription cancellation process, which wasn’t as intuitive as expected. However, I want to commend the team for how quickly and professionally they handled the issue once it was raised.
There team reached out to me, promptly cancelled the subscription, and ensured everything was resolved smoothly. I really appreciated the direct communication and swift action.
While my initial experience left me unsure, the way they responded clearly shows they care about their members and are committed to improving the service. Every company can run into issues, what sets them apart is how they respond, and Storyboard Club handled it admirably. Thank you for turning the experience around.

Just had my first dinner with 4 other people. All very interesting and it was over before I know it.
The venue was nice but perhaps a Thai restaurant wasn’t to everyone’s taste but I it had some fantastic views.
Please give it a go and see who you might meet, it’s an adventure!

I went to my first Tuesday night in Newcastle. It was a meal at the Hotel du Vin, which was lovely but I found expensive. A small vegetarian meal and 2 drinks (lemonade and tea) cost me almost almost £40, which was not my budget but I was kinda okay with paying it for the experience. In future I think somewhere that costs under £25 would be the best option eg. A classy pub/bar or golf might be better as I wouldn’t be happy to pay that again.
I was seated by the venue at the wrong table, with the wrong group of women, but the women I sat won where so great, we had a hoot.
