A fantastic evening , enjoyed by all.
The crew sang in aid of our church heating fund, asking no fee, no travel expenses, what a wonderful bunch of guys doing all that for a small village church.
Financially more successful than we ever dreamt, we shall be making a contribution to their charity , the Teenage Cancer Trust, with our grateful thanks.

My sister and I went to the Timsbury Church gig on Saturday for the second year running. We had a great night. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We enjoyed the singing and the anecdotes and being able to participate. Thank you Shanty Crew!

I invited the Port of Bristol Shanty Crew to attend my 40th Birthday Celebration at the Clockwork Rose. They turned up promptly and entertained the assembled with good humour and cheer.
Their easy manner and sunny dispositions helped put the guests at their ease and many of us joined in with those songs we knew.
I would heartily recommend them to anyone looking to have a shanty crew come to an event.

We had a fabulous evening when the crew performed to my Guide group helping the girls to gain their 'Make the Change' skill builder badge by helping them raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. The girls, their parents and guests thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Thank you.

We invited the POB Shanty Crew to sing at our teas for the 200th anniversary of the RNLI here in Somerset. They gave us a wonderful afternoon of entertainment including a moving rendition of the lifeboat song “Carry me home, home from the sea” Their friendly enthusiasm and humour helped us to raise much needed funds for the RNLI. Thankyou to the crew.

Their whole approach, from initial contact to their performance at our fundraising event in Bath, was friendly and with a 'can do' attitude. When it came to singing a shanty or two, they were absolutely brilliant, entertaining and engaging. Thank you so very much guys. A real great group of guys, super talented and really know how to bring the fun and the energy. Great repertoire of traditional sea shanty ditties - with all the classics and some that were new to me. Guaranteed to have you slapping your knee and roaring along in no time. Brilliant! Port of Bristol Shanty Crew joined forces with Westbury Park Orchestra in a recent concert. Our theme was the Sea and the Shanty Crew delighted the audience with their songs and stories. We’d love to have them perform with us again.

The Port of Bristol shanty crew played at my 50th birthday party in June 2023 - absolutely fantastic and they made the night really special with beautifully sung and produced shanty songs that appealed to young and old guests alike. I would 100% recommend them. What a crew!

The POB Shanty Crew are superb. They came to help us celebrate our 'Maritime Month' in Garden House at St Monica Trust. They were utterly brilliant. Residents, staff, family members and volunteers all joined in. They were witty, fun and engaging and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their company. Residents have started a little fan club and we look forward to welcoming them back!

The POB Shanty Crew sang at our Tower Open Day and picnics on the Lawn - for the Friends of St. Mary's charity. Clearly the sun shines on the righteous as it was a beautiful day - the first in many weeks.

We had a very big turnout and everyone was enchanted by the shanties and the chat in between songs. People were delighted when the singers were joined by a young boy (junior shanty crew) who sang some shanties with them and knew all of the words.

It was a very impressive show and we would not hesitate to invite them back again.

The Port of Bristol Shanty Crew attended our wedding reception in September 2023 to perform for our friends and family.
And what a performance it was! It was a warm and dry evening so the guys setup outside and it’s fair to say that not a soul was left inside when they started. Polite, engaging, humorous and great fun, everyone had a wonderful time and without doubt they made our special day a day to remember!
It was a pleasure to have them attend and be part of it!

The Port of Bristol Shanty Crew have been supporting and singing to raise awareness and essential funds in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust

Their support over the last 2 years has raised over £25,000 to help support Teenage Cancer Trust and our vital services for young people with cancer.

The crew are amazing and have been singing their way across Bristol to support us, they have been on the radio, in the media, held events, and supported us at Bristol Balloon Fiesta for two years running, entertaining the crowds in the bandstand.

Every day, seven young people in the UK aged 13-24 hear the devastating words “you have cancer” and their lives are turned upside down. Teenage Cancer Trust is the UK’s only charity providing young people living with cancer the specialised nursing and emotional support they need.

The crew decided that they wanted to help support us, due to a friend of theirs Harry, a young person who has been supported by Teenage Cancer Trust and chose us to be their Charity of the Year.

Tracy Burns, Senior Relationship Manager for the South West at Teenage Cancer Trust, said:

“We are incredibly proud that the Port of Bristol Shanty Crew chose to fundraise for Teenage Cancer Trust. Their energy shows through in every performance and you will be sure to be tapping a foot and singing along with them every time you see them and will leave being a ship mate. They bring so much joy and happiness to any event. Their support means so much to everyone here at the charity, and the money raised will be truly life-changing for so many young people with cancer. We can’t thank them enough.”
