Port of Bristol Shanty Crew Reviews 

The Port of Bristol Shanty Crew performed in our pub on 26 August last year, well what a day, the crew arrived and managed to set up through the crowd that were waiting, performing a fantastic set, a short break then another brilliant set with loads of customers singing along, thankfully the rain held off until the last number, but the feedback from our customers was phenomenal, we believe this was the first time a shanty crew had played here. I was lucky enough to interview these gentlemen last year on Points West. They were terrific fun, full of hilarious stories and raising oodles of money for great causes.
A real highlight.

We invited the crew to perform at our Trafalgar Night dinner for young CCF cadets at our school. They recommended songs that would be best for the occasion and even went as far as to adapt some of the lyrics to make them suitable for younger people. A great performance by a group who effortlessly set themselves up without any fuss and really engaged the kids in the songs. Definitely recommend them.

I booked the PoB Shanty Crew to perform at Doozy 002, an art exhibition/gig/club night at strange brew in January 2024 and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. They were helpful, prompt and useful in their communications and their performance lit up strange brew like no other has! 300 people beaming from ear to ear belting out Bristolian shanties was quite a sight to witness. They are all brilliant performers, singers, and have great stage presence, commanding a large space with tact, wit, and just the right ratio of skill and enthusiasm. Off stage they are funny, lovely guys and were a pleasure to work with. Would recommend to any event (even experimental art-clubbing events!) to light up the room and get everyone on their feet and making merry! 11/10.
